Why, oh why, oh why in the hell would you stand around and brag about how much drugs and drug money that has being seized in Dekalb County. All that does is prove the fact that the county is rotten to the core. Who would want to move their family here, who would want to move and start a business here....no one that has any intelligence. This place is truly amazing....

I can see it now...the white shirts all standing around looking for a photo-op...Hey listen up boss I got a great idea, let's go out here and with the help of the news media tell everybody just how bad Dekalb County really is and show'em all the drugs and drug money we is getting out in the community. Shit yea!!! We just showed everybody that Dekalb County is the biggest shit hole in the state....Way to GO!!!!!!! Huckleberry

Who in their right mind would want to go out and self promote to the public just how freaking bad this county really is...I'm not saying hide the facts but damn, if the question is asked then answer the question....but you don't go out and showboat.

This is not the sort of Limelight that this county needs...it's like asking the question...Do I shit over behind that rock, or do I shit over behind that bush? Do you think it really matters at this point hell you can just shit out in the open cause the whole world now knows just how shitty DeKalb County truly is.

There is no help for these idiots.

It would have been more if officers had not been given the stand down order in the parking lot at HQ/34.

Damn... the parking lot would have been front page news in Brookhaven.

January 12, 2014 at 2:45 AM & January 12, 2014 at 9:15 AM... real DKPD officers put there lives on the line and accomplished these seizures. I know it is not important to peanut gallery but at least acknowledge their work was recognized and shown to the citizens in a professional way.

To Anon 2:45am,

"Why, oh why, oh why in the hell would you stand around and brag about how much drugs and drug money that has being seized in Dekalb County. All that does is prove the fact that the county is rotten to the core."

All this statement proves is that you don't know what you're talking about.

Watch the documentary on BMF that has been playing everyday for the last month. Metro Atlanta, not just DeKalb County, has been a hub for major drug distributors for a while. It has nothing to do with the failings of any city or county. It all has to do with geography and the interstate highway system. Atlanta is in an ideal spot to warehouse drugs before they go anywhere on the east coast. A lot of that dope DeKalb is bragging about wasn't even found in DeKalb. If anything, DeKalb is picking up the slack for everyone else. While other agencies are patting themselves on the back and holding press conferences for 5 lbs of weed and a handgun seized on a traffic stop, DeKalb keeps their mouths shut about stuff and keeps working leads until they can't be worked any further. That's why they have always gotten more dope than any other agency in metro Atlanta. This major haul they got didn't just stop from drugs hitting the streets in DeKalb, it affected drug trafficked along the hole east coast!

You say there is a hole on the East Coast??

Someone please tell me where that hole is on the East Coast so I can make damn sure to avoid it....You say its Dekalb County!!

Never would've thought that.

Why was news camera sweating the token white guy in press release again? A deliberate attempt to make him uncomfortable?

Anonymous said...

its more than just being a hub, it has the been the constant thought of as long as its not trafficking lets just give them probation. How about felony drugs gets felony consequences

I guess losing the dead weight in that unit really did make the difference.

Anon 2:45 just about a month ago you guys were applauding Brookhaven for seizing a couple of pounds of weed. Every county in the region especially the great Gwinett is on TV. Bragging about large drug seizures. When Dekalb does it you have a problem . Just leave turd you don't have a clue that those type seizures are regional enforcement and effects the region.

What a novel idea, DOING YOUR FU*&^%$ JOB. Try not to hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.

9:08pm, you're much too giddy over a typo.

So Ole Cedric the Entertainer has a Goatee. Since when is that within policy??? I guess he can do whatever the hell he wants to. I guess he got a doctors note just like the other two detectives that have beards. Maybe Ole Ced found his Swag.

It's more than just "doing your job" when you pull in twice as much dope as everyone agency around you and you hand those agencies a ton of dope on a silver platter that they count on their stats as well.

All that says is Dekalb hasn't been doing its job for a long time for criminals to feel so complacent in dealing drugs. Most likely due to our more tickets, less felonies ongoing policy. Don't want to bite the hand that feeds you after all.

I am surprised Vernon Jones and Burrell Ellis were on opposing sides for CEO - THEY HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON

Those complaining about us showing off the fruits of our labor simply are people who like to complain. Ignore. Good job to Narcotics, and eevry keen-eyed Officer that doesnt just Stop>Check ID>Print Ticket>Repeat like some ATM for the county.

Situations like this are damned if you do and damned if you dont type deals. If you keep mum about anything you do, the people dont think you're doing anything. If you show your work, people think you're unnecessarily bragging. OH well. Now, do I want the swaggering con-man, and Resident DKPD Psychiatrist, I mean....whatever his new title is now with another raise, Cedric the Dramatic, front and center of the cameras bolstering like he had the smallest clue what anyone in NArcotics was doing until someone told him how he could make it look like he was responsible for it. absolutely not. And you can just see Conroy in the back almost mouthing "Aww, when's it gonna be my turn to play Chief?" In due time, in due time. Something bad or embarrassing will happen, and you can bet on who they're going to send out to bathe in the limelight.

NEWSFLASH! READ ALL ABOUT! BIG NEWS OUT OF DEKALB OFFICERS SPEAK BLOG! Every jurisdiction in the United States has a drug problem. If someone is stupid enough to see this news story and say "They have drugs in DeKalb County, let's not move there!" Instead of "The police are actually doing something that's working to curtail the drug problem, let's move there" Then they're probably one of the idiots that's responsible for some piss-poor political leadership that's currently in office around the country, Democrat or Republican. So I could really care less if that type of person moves here. One less idiot in the gene pool I say. Get over yourself.

Stick together and stay safe out there.
