This blog page was established so DeKalb County Police Officers including their family and friends may have a place to hold discussions, post news and vent without fear of retribution.
Back when Vermin was CEO and I was still employed, I bumped into him at a Falcon game. I was in charge of a specific DeKalb Department and reached out to shake his hand and say hello. He turned sideways to avoid me. Embarrassed, I said "I'm (so and so). He turned back and said " I know who you are". He then just walked away. I'm white, tried to be polite, he snubbed the hell out of me. Well, right now I'd like him to know he can Kiss My White Ass.
I still want to see him indicted! He is so delusional that he still thinks that he is right. Okay Feds, do your job and convict him. That will help stop him from running for something else! Once a Narcissist, always one. Evil triumphs when good people sit back and do nothing. Thank you God and DeKalb voters for not putting him in office.
I passed old Vern on runoff day in his "vote for me" shirt with two young men at the Covington hwy 285N exit, this was actually quite ingenious, to avoid people actually TALKING to him as he is the guy they're expected to vote for, he's standing there with headphones in his ear, yet they're clearly turned off because he's having a full blown conversation with the kid next to him, by the hand gestures, apparently this kid has never waved before because it seems like old uncle Vern is trying to teach him the complicated art. Anyway, to add to that, he always seems to have his back turned to stopped traffic, because as soon as I got the light and turned, I looked back and he was facing my directions waving as passing cars behind me. Maybe he was afraid of what people might say if they actually recognized him and had a few seconds of being only a few feet from him. Ha.
Either way, I hope Jeff Mann doesn't take too much from Tom Brown and actually acts like he's the highest form of law enforcement in the county instead of just doing what is 'minimally mandated'. We need help on these calls, I could care less if it comes from a new class, or from the Field Ops deputies, he'll the county commission might even like that idea even, more cronies on the street to make us money. Don't take lightly what you were given Mann. Georgia Sheriffs are supposed to do things other than just sit at the house all day and watch the kids. You've got state certified and well equipped (even more well equipped than us) peace officers under you, use em.
I've noticed over the years, Vernon has always used teenagers to aid in his campaigns. They crowded around him to give the appearance he had a large supportive group when he was on TV or street corners. They must have been utilized during the Sherrif's race thus the reason so many signs were placed in Fulton County, public r-o-w's, and on polling site property. Sad the kids weren't trained. Hope there are no other political posts he'll run for, because frankly, I am tired of his futile attempts to get to play dictator.
I hear there are changes being made in the Sheriff's department now that the election is over. I think the people are being told to step it up. let's see if the deputies in the field begin to do more
Don't count on the deputies doing more in the field....41's etc .... not until what is left of DKPD is absorbed by SO.... with the continued waves of resignations, I see a new oath of office in our future.
Last week it was Chamblee... this week MARTA.... next week it will be Cobb, the new home of the Braves.
I don't think the deputies will work 41s, just as the PD officers will not go grab a pack of warrants and pull on them. There are different job duties, however back in the day the deputies were a bit more independent and did not depend on PD as much as they do now. I would like to see the deputies more active in the communities among other things.

If the statute of limitations has not run its course, maybe VJ will someday get to be a guest of the department he tried to get elected to run.

Did the guy posting on 7/22 at 10:41 just say everyone who voted for Vernon should move to Puerto Rico?
