Happy New Year to all my fellow brothers and sisters in Blue. I hope and pray that 2015 will be a lot better and safer than 2014 was. The Officers of the DeKalb County Police Department most certainly deserve this. There is no greater example of love or dedication than to possibly have to lay your life down for another in DeKalb County. What these officers do is priceless, yet those elected politicians in Decatur dont seem to value it at all. Wages and benefits for a DeKalb County Police Officer basically "froze" in the late 1990's while their cost of living skyrocketed, and the quality of their life became much worse.
Blame for this this travesty needs to be placed directly at the feet of those responsible....the crooked elected officials and the citizens who have continued to elect them over and over. Simply put, there are too many bad guys and too few good guys in DeKalb.
"Who among you does not like and appreciate those that enforce the laws?....the ones who break these laws...obviously".
Look at what DeKalb has become and tell me I am wrong. Show me how these crooked politicians "vision for the future" has benefited DeKalb in one single area.
The time for major changes in DeKalb is way overdue and in 2015 those changes need to happen quickly. The voters need to get their heads out of the sand and boot these idiot politicians with their "ideas" that do not work to the curb. DeKalb should have the finest, most funded, best trained, most enthusiastic and loved Police Department in the country.....the way it used to be. Then, maybe, your quality of life and those elusive jobs, and a tax base will return.

Be Safe Out There!

Dekalb Officers are brave on the street but cowards dealing with their own abuse.

How much Christmas money did zoning take in? Happy Holidays Crooks in Zoning!

Anonymous said...

Sgt Friendly, You are wasting your breath. The Dekalb Co police officers have no grit to stand up for themselves and the citizens and politicians are as bad as Detroit Michigan. Give it up and move on to something else.

Why does sgt. Albritton have a take hom cat, no other aid has a take home car why does he.

Anonymous said...

Wait a minute!!! Albritton has a take home cat? I know a few officers have a take home dog but first I'm hearing of a take home cat.

Seriously, I don't know who Albritton is but I suspect he is SOD and works for, "the rules have never applied to me" B Harris. He has been licking Cedric's boots since he got here and Cedric lets him do what ever he wants. Cedric is too busy fixing other police departments and giving CNN interviews to be worried about the fucked up DKPD.

To Anonymous Jan 3rd 3:36 PM.....

I gave up on the citizens and politicians in DeKalb decades ago. They will never understand or listen but I will continue to point the finger until I die, praying they have some humanity left to where the guilt for what they have done will force positive changes for the DeKalb officers who protect and sometimes die for them.

I will NEVER, EVER give up on the officers themselves. They are me, and I am them.

Sgt Friendly

How does one get a take home CAT? I know sometimes this job can get you some pu$$y, but just asking.

Anonymous said...

Well I happen to know Sgt Albritton very well. I think that he has earned his take home cat. He is, in fact, a great lover of animals, and one more cat to add to his menagerie will be a welcome addition. He is also an active supporter of PETA and has campaigned on behalf of many animal shelters. Now tell me that he has not earned his take home cat! You cat hater you! I'll bet you are jealous that you don't have a take home cat yourself!

Hey Blogmaster, on your banner for STOP DECATUR ANNEXATION, where is your one for Lavista Hills, Tucker, and any of the others. I think you are barking up the wrong tree here. Don't be selective, treat them all the same, or remove it.

Anonymous said...

how does it feel knowing your department will not exist in less the 10 years

Anonymous said...

Does Sgt Albritton's cat makes big meows?

Hey Mr. Critique.....If you are going to talk about someone, learn how to spell FIRST !

Anonymous said...

To 11:44am you too must work J2 at the mall that is deep in the heart of an area we no longer serve! My take home has also allowed me to take home some pussy cat. To 12:39 SOD works for me also, been making my quota for a take home going on 5 years now!

It's a new year and a year that starts with questions:

1. What's up with promotional testing? The lists are expired and we have nothing but rumors.

2. Is the lack of a path to promotion a sign that the department will be downsizing to adjust to the needs of a smaller "unincorporated" portion of the county. (See Stone Mtn, Briarcliff, Lakeside etc...)

3. Are take homes coming or is the trickle of cars a carrot you'll never sample?

4. What's up with the salary survey?

5. Will the BOC again disagree with the findings of their consultants and ignore whatever they find?

6. What will happen with our benefits and pension contributions?

7. When will we see our next raise?

8. Will the 10% promotional raise be put back in place as promised?

9. Will those who were promoted with only a 5% increase see the second 5%?

Feel free to add to this list of open questions.

If you want a conviction, move Erkle trail out of Dekalb. Change of Venue! Poop head.

Before much longer, there will not be enough of this county left for a cat to cover up. Everybody, and anybody with the financial means, and blessed with intelligent residents, are petitioning to get out. I grew up in DeKalb. It's heart breaking to realize, and relate to the tragedy of the downfall of a once great and prosperous county. The national notoriety of a great police department, school system, business success, and safe neighborhoods, has been replaced by constant bad publicity,as the standard by "not what to do" as a county. I moved away over 30+ years ago, simply because I did not want my family endangered by simply going shopping,or attending the subpar/unsafe school system. The county government is a total embarrassment.
The county services are worse. YOU ALL DESERVE MUCH,MUCH BETTER THAN THIS. At least you guys that stay, or have to stay.

I thought that God alexander promised us all take home "CAT'S" Sgt. Albritton just got his early because he is a yes boy for Commander and Chief Harris.

I still don't understand how you all can work for a police department for $500 a week with no pay raises anywhere in sight.

Must be a bunch of rookies working down in DC who just haven't figured it out yet.

Only other group paid worse is GSP……they take home $400 a week but hey…..that car sure does look good sitting in your driveway. But….it just doesn't do to good a job paying the bills….

Veteran uniform officers with time and rank will get take homes when they refurbished the Caprices.

Anonymous said...

One thing that I think the higher up's in the PD and the county have never learned and this goes way back, is that when they keep people in the dark and allow rumors to fester for long periods of time, it breeds bad will and bad information get's spread all over the place. The bosses have never been proactive in keeping subordinates apprised of pressing issues. They are always so willing to be reactionaries as opposed to being preemptive in attempting to head off problems. This goes for the pension board too. What do you think?

No matter how much sunshine is being pumped up your ass, nothing is going to change. The posts of the citizens are greatly appreciated, and graciously received, but everybody thought the Titanic was a nice ship, until it sank like a rock!
Nothing is going to change in this corrupt, dysfunctional county, until the Fed's come in w/o the obstruction of that functional incompetent,Eric Holder.Maybe if our *poser* chief,or whatever title he is going by this pay period, would keep his ass here for a full week,he would consider doing his job here for a little while. All of you,and the solid citizen's of this county, deserve better.

How can we track crime trends when we can't find the report. It has gone to a place unknown, but they are working on it. So it's been 5 months and still no solution.
They need to fired whoever approved this system.

Anonymous said...

Now that we are finishing up 3 Lieutenants cars per Precinct. Let's do 3 Sergeants cars per Precinct.

Anonymous said...

What's up?...

Hey Jan. 11th at 12:57AM......As a fellow brother, maybe you can explain to us what a "take home" is.

Is this a new type of housing? Is this a new type of design for a home? Does it have wheels or is it stationary?

I believe that you might want to go back to Training and maybe they can tell you how to write a report because you did such a excellent job on letting your brothers and sisters know what the "take home" is.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous JANUARY 14, 2015 AT 11:55 AM... Get real... Sergeants aren't getting cars anytime soon.... They're just glorified MPO's who are accountable for and blamed for everything... the command staff has made it clear through their decisions and actions that they think very little of sergeants.

Talk is cheap....the next crop to hit 5 years will jump ahead of them.

This department needs to rotate part time jobs. This will end some on the corruption between business owners and officers they employ. The relationships become too personal. We should follow other agencies and have the department assign part times and rotate them so you are not at the same location every night or every weekend! Some of us are way too comfortable with our part times.

Anonymous said...

I hear we have new guns in our future, Sig,s P320, they are better than what we have now

Anonymous said...

I'd rather a raise instead of new guns.

Anonymous said...

If you are an MPO, a sergeant or a lieutenant:
You are more likely to be killed in the line of duty than you are to get a raise or get promoted in 2015.

Why do white officers have to shave? Why can't we grow beards and goatees lime half of the black males at south precinct? They bring in a made up excuse from their doctor and they don't have to shave. This never happened before Dr Alexander. Everyone shaved.

Anonymous said...

@5:05pm
Sounds like you can't find yourself a part time job.

Anonymous said...

If you can't meet the standards of the uniform, then find another job. That's the way it used to be. Now everybody is a special flower and needs special exceptions made for them. Everyone should have to follow the rules of uniform, no exceptions.

Because Alexander sees nothing wrong with it, that's why. He has a soul patch himself. He is a 60 year old man with a soul patch and a leased Mercedes. A real playa-playa !!! The ladies in Hotlanta should be on guard.

Anyone know when we are going to receive our W2's in the mail?? Seems like they always wait until the last minute.

Anonymous said...

Are the good citizens of Chamblee reimbursing the county for the TAC unit that is assigned there every Saturday? Maybe we could get these DeKalb units that just want to patrol Brookhaven and Chamblee to come out here to East or South and help with call volume. This might help us save areas that have not yet incorporated and leave the incorporated cities to patrol their own areas.

@2:14 pm
We see you making all the extra money and don't want to share. #MoneyWillMakeYouDoAnything

Anonymous said...

When are we getting our W2's??? Does anyone have any information?

Anonymous said...

The W-2's are being uploaded to and can be accessed in RMS.

Slick Willy said...

I don't think I want my W-2 in RMS for everyone to see, I'm assuming you mean Power DMS? Which sucks as well since we are not cloud based for all the hackers. Just send mine the usual paper way please.

Hmmm. Just for giggles and grins. Napoleon streamlined the government under his authority by completely eliminating the former system of electing officials. While certainly not democratic, the system was strong and efficient because he selected employees according to their demonstrated abilities. Not because of ass kissing,or race, but because of select demonstrated abilities. Sure beats "We in charge now. This sh*t gonna change". And,Jesus wept.

Saturday morning, heading to the mall for some J2. Just posting to piss the haters off! Anyone have a Chamblee magnet for my unit?

Would someone please take away Judy Brownlee's email privileges? 23 emails from her and 1 from her boss Sharon Barnes Sutton in one day about people wearing red is an annoyance. Would it have been that difficult to put all of the pictures in one email instead of flooding all of our email inboxes all day?

Anonymous said...

I finally set up a rule that sent Judy Brownlee's emails automatically to the circular file.

Remember when:

We took promotional tests....

We didn't stand around waiting for cars....

We got "sick" checks at the end of the year.....

We got a 5% promotional raise.... and another 5% after completing the probationary period.

Alexander a Hypocrite?

I have tried to support Cedric but I have now reached the conclusion that he talks out of both sides of his mouth and knows nothing about law enforcement. When he is speaking about police related matters it seems as if he is just making up shit as he goes.

Over the last few months I have heard him criticize other police departments while giving T.V. interviews for their lack of racial diversity. I have also heard him make nasty comments about "white police departments" in private. He doesn't seem to care who hears him make outrageous comments.

But while he is criticizing others on national news shows what about his own department? DKPD is predominately black and has been for years. Cedric's department has five chiefs and four of them are white. Thats 80% in a predominately black department.

Again I have tried to support Cedric and urged others to do so until recently. But I can no longer do so because he is two faced and untrustworthy. The given example is only one of many.

To clarify my comments above (lest someone get mad) I am not saying DKPD can not have a white police chief. If he is a good leader I will support him. Just can't stand the hypocrisy that Cedric speaks.

Why can't Recorders Court send us a professional looking list of officers needed? Some officers are listed in the email, others are in a word document, others are in an excel spreadsheet. Can't they all the names in one consistent, professional looking email or document?

Wow, bribery scandal involving Lu Lu Billards, imagine that! Now Alexander has reinstated part time jobs for this night club. Wonder who else he has paid off, well know that Mexican Cartel members hand out in these locations owned by this same person whom paid off zoning official to even be open! Anyone one who has been around knows that this business pays to get their way in anything they need. Our people sitting there guarding the door!

Didn't Martin Luther King say "...judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin." I guess that only works for you when you can play the card, eh?
The chief of the Cleveland Ohio PD said on CNN recently, " If you think only a black police officer can police a predominantly black population, then we are doomed to failure." He's right. So, you think we need more black asst. chiefs, maybe we do. We had a black asst chief under Graham and the PD stayed in the news. Same with Bolton. Maybe it was the cards they were dealt. Let's just go with the most qualified, regardless of their skin color.
I would follow Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee County into battle any day. This guy tells it like it is and he doesn't play the race card.

Reading comprehension not one of your strongest abilities huh?

Did you not read, or just not understand this part of the poster's comments; "I am not saying DKPD can not have a white police chief. If he is a good leader I will support him." ???????? The point was that Alexander is a hypocrite. Not to criticize one of the white chiefs who you seem to be fond of!

So which of the current group of white chiefs do you feel are, "most qualified?" I personally think they are all self serving idiots.
