It is all about replacing the senior caucasian staff with african americans. This has been underway in DeKalb for a long time, and there are pros running the discrimination campaign.

Best bang for the public dollar?

One Lt per shift with them off on weekends will make it necessary to have Sergeants working as lieutenants on Saturday/Sunday and taking one officer away from answering calls to be an OIC.....officer acting as a sergeant.

How does taking officers away from answering 911 calls benefit the department and the citizens?

The "best bang for the dollar" Mr. Alexander would include the elimination of your Director of Public Safety position.

What did the report say about the Deputy COO position? Was it necessary to have a police chief and a Deputy COO? Will Erica Byfield do a report on why there is still an interim police chief? Or is she the new suck-up to Cedric, replacing Ryan Young?

How about no deputy chief operating officer of public safety. How much bang is that $186,000 savings instantly!

They need to down size by firing him. Been gone for along time and happy.

Dr. Alexander is vying for a job in DC, anyway.

DC or Baltimore?.... After the Justice Dept finishes with Baltimore PD, my money is on Alexander being their new chief.

Dr. COO is an idiot looking after his own wallet. He doesn't give a shit about anyone in DCPD except the big puppet in Washington DC.

He is not interested in the support of any of his officers (brass included, except the chosen few)and also doesn't give a shit of who's schedule he screws up. The Interim chief and several others in the command staff are going to retire soon which will leave some high paying slots for the brothers.

The ship is sinking for the oldsters, what few there are remaining.

Dekalb County has gone the route of every other Democrat run municipality.....Failure.

We have no promotional process in place. There are going to be lots of supervisor retirements in the very near future. Is Ced going to suddenly have to appoint to sergeant and lieutenant to fill the vacancies as an "emergency" fix, which the Personnel Code allows? And when he does, who (or what) do you think will get the nod: qualifications or demographics and a profound ability to booty smooch?

I saw on www.indeed.com that both Sandy Springs and Johns Creek PD and FD are hiring.

Come on over the grass IS greener at JCPD. Yearly Merit & COLA raises so far, every other weekend is a 3 day weekend, good insurance and benefits.

Pats QB.... I saw Johns Creek, Sandy Springs and MARTA are all looking for good officers. Yes, Virginia... It is time to move on to new pastures... This one is dried and withered.

Even the structural study of manpower released a week or two ago by the county says the same...Dekalb is not competitive.

If you are thinking of applying for our SWAT team, do yourself a favor and stay away! It is a dysfunctional nightmare right now and has been for many months. Won't list the details but there is no one (SWAT supervisors) who knows what the F they are doing!

Hey Cedric and Harris. Those changes in leadership you made last year have worked out great. Thanks! You guys are the best!
