What's the rush on the pay study? Ya'll know that they are going to have to have a pay study on the new pay study don't you !
Who ruined Dekalb County Georgia ? Politicians, incompetent politicians and crooked politicians. That's a fact Jack! How can so many fools be in one place at the same time ? !!!!!
To July 23, 8:42 AM.......
DeKalb County is a social experiment started in the late 1960's that has gone completely and horribly wrong. What you have in DeKalb is the fruit from an evil seed that was planted by people who wanted to "change" a place by social engineering. The working taxpayers left because the lifestyle of the county went to hell because more and more criminals were moving in. Nobody wants to live in a war zone where you HAVE to have a big strong police force to deal with all those criminals. Well eventually all those criminals outnumbered the good folks and they started electing criminals like themselves. Those elected criminals did what criminals do and started slowly defunding and infiltrating the police dept so they would be less of a threat to their criminal activities. That meant NO raises for hardworking cops who put their lives on the line every single day, NO replacement equipment and hiring substandard applicants because "its just the right thing to do". Those who make the rules for how the police are able to do their jobs eventually were all political appointees put there by crooks to so their bidding.
Detractors can try and place the blame on RACISM, GUNS, DRUGS, and a "CULTURE OF VIOLENCE", but it really has nothing to do with it. The truth is nobody wants to live among criminals stealing everything they have and killing each other and their family members every day and night. What happened to DeKalb was a Power Grab by the criminal element while the federal government looked away out of embarrassment for the mess they had allowed to happen in the first place. Those who drank the kookaid and went right along with it should feel ashamed and be prosecuted.
Now you can say and believe whatever you want, but I saw this firsthand. I was born and raised in DeKalb County and I worked for the Police Dept too. I have gone to way too many funerals of Police Officers and friends and family members. I know exactly who is guilty. All I ever had in my heart was love for the citizens and fellow Police Officers of DeKalb 'County and all of us are now victims.
Sgt Friendly
Does anyone know anybody who was interviewed? I was told that they'd be speaking to people on a random basis. This Archer time waster was a boondoggle.
I know a way to save money. Get rid of our supposed pio Mekka Parish. Why is that remnant from the Bolton era still around and what does she do to justify her $80,000 a year salary? Captain Fore is the person I see on the news. He does great. Why do we need a do nothing civilian pio on our payroll?
It may have been a blessing that I did not get hired at DKPD. As an already sworn officer in another state, I was looking forward to joining that agency. I was a navy recruiter during the 80's and I can tell you that I was very impressed with them. They were the best in the state I do believe. I did my homework and sadly, its only a shell of itself.
Senior officers I spoke with are just waiting or hoping to make it to retirement. I say to the much younger officers that policing is basically the same wherever you go. Don't be so quick to chase after the dollar, learn your job, become proficient and proactive. For me, it has never been about the money, otherwise I would gladly stay at my current agency. I say this, keep your heads up and do what's in your heart to do, serve and protect your communities.
I was interviewed. There were several MPO'S who were interviewed at the same time I was. It turned into a bitch session, but the representative from the company was actually doing his job.
Now watch the race to dime out Vern in order to save themselves from prosecution. Like the old adage goes, there's no honor among thieves. Unbelievable.
1116pm. Theres corruption in most local govts. But not in our police dept. Most cant take our call volume they wanna goto a city where they are security guards. Ive seen a lot of shit here and ill get 4k a month for the rest of my life at age 50. No its not Google or apple but you have to think longterm. So while a 401k is nice nothing pays like a pension.
Retiring shortly at the beach
"NOT IN OUR POLICE DEPT."? You MUST be high or simply naive. I assume you've never been involved in the promotional testing here and seen idiots that can't lace their shoes (much less complete a sentence) get promoted over obvious superior candidates. That or you're one of the ass-kissing idiots that's been continually promoted and pushing for the corrupt agenda that is Dekalb County.
@4:10 PM, You actually believe your pension in that corrupt dump will remain intact the rest of your life? At least I now have control over my investments in my 401 and choose what non-corrupt entities I want to invest it into. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
And therein lies the problem. Look at all the PD supervisors sent to prison over the last few years. If you'll stay there to do their corrupt bidding for the almighty dollar, what won't you do for it? How many illegitimate kids do you have to pay for?
No illegitimate kids at all. Never seen corruption in the police department ever. The politicians i cant speak for but they are politicians lol. And for the pension yes its absolutely safe. I speak regularly to the pension board. So yes 4k a month til i die. Ill still comment here from my tablet from the beach while some of you drive around the mall 100 times with the yellow lights on the roof lol.
Ps they have a bar on the beach that makes mojitos and pina coladas
The pension is secure and it will be here for a long time. I won't have to police until I'm 65 because I have this pension, thank God. After I retire I won't be forced to lead miser's life as I watch my litle 401K decrease in value every month. Those with only a 401k to retire on will need a million dollars in the account to retire with any security. And aside I've locked up cops who crossed the line here and in the cities. Rest assured your agency has problems too.
The pension, and any pension is only as good as the people who run it and those who pay and participate with diligence. The real property taxpayers of DeKalb are running to other jurisdictions or creating their own cities. It's just a matter of time until our pension fails. Who was the county official who stated, "I lay awake at night worrying about it"?
As to corruption, it has always been there, but festering under the "new" crooks. The murder of officer David Corn. (talk to his relatives).
Missing, stolen items from property (chain saws, color TVs, guns) thru missing property sheets. And don't forget protecting the bimbos with no job duties.
Been there. Saw that!
To August 10, 11:19 AM........
