City of Brookhaven Seeks Payday Loan

The Brookhaven City Council will discuss consideration and approval of a short term loan for $3,500,000 during the city council meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road.

The city would use the money to pay bills while waiting for tax revenue to be available. Those funds aren’t expected until close to the end of the fiscal year.

Another agenda item considered is the Intergovernmental Agreement with Georgia Department of Transportation and MARTA for the Peachtree Road Livable Center Initiative for pedestrian and streetscape improvements. The council will also consider approval of the revision to the city’s Paid Time Off and Sick Time Benefits Policy.

I can see how this would be necessary their first year or two, but this is their 4th year as a city. Looks like they over estimated what they could pull off.

Brookhaven will be bankrupt in no time, I suppose Dunwoody will annex that as well.
