This whole county corruption crap..... James, Barnes-Sutton, Watson. Ellis, Boyer. is this movie-making stuff or what!!! It just doesn't get any better than this! Oh yea.. to Dr. Alexander... remember: DELTA IS READY WHEN YOU ARE.

Just what we need is a career politician who likes to grant favors to be in charge of property tax exemptions - homestead, seniors, disability, disabled vets. Watson as tax commissioner is a recipe for disaster.

And the hits just keep on coming! Well,if "HE" wants to be,we all know that "HE",is "GOING" to be! HE will get it,because THEY all think, that HE deserves to get it! GOD forbid, the status quo would ever change. Don't even expect any one of political influence,to address "that particular elephant in the room"! Mike Bowers did,and we all know what happened with that! New news, old news, same news. I watched The Georgia Gang,on tv,yesterday, and that exact topic was discussed. Of course,no one can broach any DeKalb County subject, without the major corruption issues, arising, that are reported, and rehashed,on a regular basis,by all the local news channels. It has become the bar room joke,"well, you see, this crooked DeKalb County commissioner, this interim county commissioner of questional integrity, and a dishonest tax commissioner, walked into a federal courtroom, blah, blah, blah, yaddy yada". Sorry. I digress. Where was I? Oh yes,one commentator revealed all the issues of Watson's past financial discrepancies,to the usual "wailing and knashing of teeth",by the other two commentators, more especially, when the hard cold facts were provided. Then, accompanied by the usual follow up question,"Well, how about the imposed Lee Mayes, and his sudden'untimely' termination of the corruption investigation"? The counter question was,"Well, how about all the good things he,and his administration has done for the citizens of DeKalb County"? More ludicrous attempts at justification, and unfair accusations, well, because of,"you know what"! More sputtering, deflecting, and distracting,"Hey look! A puppy"!! Once, just once, only once,if any one of these "unjustly accused",victims of the system, would ever stand up and say,"Yep,you caught me.I did it",without the masses howling their tired "discrimination" outcry, and inevitable reply of "well you see,it was like this",I think I would finally be ready to meet my maker! Just another common situation that casts more ridicule, and disgrace on the majority of the county community, deserved or not. They should be offended, embarrassed, and ashamed of the manner in which they are portrayed,to the public,as a whole. Perception is still reality. Damn, someone involving these continual indignations to this county, needs to demonstrate a modicum of,at least a little dignity, and self respect. This might,at the very least, stop some of the constant reinforcement of what everybody already thinks."No big surprise here.Just another day of doing business, not only in DeKalb",but in every other aspect of today's society.! How can you deal with folks that have no shame? Keep on re-electing them,I guess? At least a few of the remaining, courageous intellectuals, will still stand in the fire to expose the truth ! Good for them!! AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. (for some).

If I'm correct, the tax commissioner position solely collects the taxes. The office doesn't determine exemptions, taxes on cars or homes. Many of the taxes are based on the state. Property and etc is determined by the tax appraisal office.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Stan has no clue how to run an office. He can't handle what he does now.

DeKalb is so broken that he just may get elected. A Commissioner who didn't pay on a lawsuit and has to have his COUNTY wages garnished. He certainly seems ethical and responsible enough with money to have such an important role. Unfortunately, my magic 8 ball says that this will be just like Victor Hill's latest re-election in Clayton...DeKalb will make the dumbest choice and wonder why they're even more screwed up down the line...

Anonymous 3/16: Watson for ANYTHING is a recipe for disaster! Best thing he can do for the citizens of DeKalb is to keep his hands out of county business but just like Sutton.. he will always maintain he has done no wrong through all the years he has held a county position.
