Fired Fire Captain Gets Job Back

Nice job fire department. A fireman can lie about a police officer and get away with it.

Should DeKalb firemen be shown any professional courtesy if they are pulled over off duty for a traffic violation? Just asking.

In DeKalb County, it all depends on who one knows and how much ass gets kissed and that's all. Color does help too.

Has this county never heard of Negligent Retention? The first time this confirmed liar steals from a home he's "working" inside and then again lies about it, those responsible for his rehire can and should be held responsible in a punitive lawsuit. Dumb, meet Dumber...

Firefighters deserve courtesy (unless they give you a reason not to provide it). Can't penalize all the fire bubbas for the actions of a single douchebag.

New news/same news. All you can do is "deal with it",and just do your job in a safe manner. It's another bit of info that might show up in a future precedence lawsuit.

Guys, , please don't take out your frustrations on the whole Dekalb County Fire Dept. We are just disgusted as you that he got his job back. Nobody wants to work with him. He should NEVER be able to put on a uniform again, and the only reason he is is because the department doesn't know how to follow their own policy when disciplining someone.

First off, don't let this one "captain" and I use that word loosely define who we are as a fire department. We all are disgusted by his action and he has shown to lost his credibility and I know that I would not want to be under his command.

Where can I get a copy of Cedric's book he's constantly peddling on CNN? I wonder if he has mastered tense in the book as he certainly hasn't in public speaking. GOOD LORD what an embarrassment. I'm guessing with all the Dallas Officers claiming they'd work for their Chief at any salary (rightfully so) Dr. Ced can't make similar claims there in Dekalb.

Agreed, All the Fire guys I have dealt with have been good guys. as far as I am concerned, you will get the same respect as any other first responder. stay safe and keep up the good work guys.

Typical Dekalb... no wonder firemen and police officers are leaving faster than the academies can train new rookies (to replace proven, experienced veterans)
