You were just a puppet and would never stand up for your officers and I did not respect you as a leader, but congratulations on your retirement and best of luck to you.

We will end up with on other useless lpolice chief, as long as we have the CEO or a public safety director calling all the shots we will continue to suffer. The reason is the chief and his command staff only spend their time trying to justify and keep the position they are in. So that leaves the rest of the department in a mess.

Conroy as a person is a great guy , but as a police chief or leader he is not.

I hope we get a chief that is willing to see through all the ass kissing he/she will receive and make changes that will benefit the whole department. Can the chief give us a raise no they can’t. But just maybe we will get a chief that will not be afraid to stand before the CEO and the commissioners and tell them the truth, tell them the officers are overworked and underpaid. Maybe we will have someone who is not afraid to stick up for the officers. Conroy, Yarbrough, Caitlin, Porter....and none of he commandvstaff have ever stood up at a commission meeting and said our officers need to be paid more. This place will never change, everyone looks out for themselves.

Congratulations Jm don’t let these cry babies get you down, you did what you felt was a good job. I wish you the best.

With Conroy retiring who is going to protect the officer which the most seniority in the department, she drives a new marked police vehicle, but she can’t protect herself or anyone else. She qualifies with no one watching, she does not have the strength to hold her gun. I appreciate all her yeRs of serve but I am worried she is a danger to herself and other officers.

Way to go Jim, now go enjoy your life away from that corrupt county.

Haters will hate, Jim you did what you needed to do, go retire and enjoy.

On the retired officers Facebook page they been saying what a great Chief Former Captain Gary Gainey would be today. I remember him as one of the biggest ASSHOLES supervisor to work for from Sgt all the way to Captain. I guess everyone just being nice.

Your implicit bias towards women is showing. You are worried about a female who drives a marked vehicle who completed academy and certified with a weapon and you all carry badges and guns, too. Is she supposed to protect you all, as well as herself? Has the training genuinely slipped that far?

I mean...your PCOs are super obvious its like nobody trains them. I can spot one of yours in about 5 minutes. They're the ones so obvious it's like DK might put people there simply to walk them right into the shit. In the wrong environment with some genuine bad guys one of your PCOs would be toast on the first day. Worry about those guys. They are more dumb and unarmed than the chick you're mentioning. Seriously.

Your team needs to pull out.

No I am not Bias towards women or even her, I think she has done a hell of a job for the past 41 years, but let’s be honest at her age and the fact she can’t even hardly hold a gun to qualify she is a danger to herself and others. Let’s stop turning a blind eye to the officers who should not be in certain places or even employed because they are corrupt or not fit for duty.

The culture there has needed a complete overhaul for a very long time. However, with the current CEO in place I'd look for Pearson to be your next Chief.

I hope John Pearson does not come back, the morale is already bad enough he pull only cause a toltal meltdown. When he was here he should have been indicted on a lot of corrupt shit. Not to mention all of his domestic violence with his former wife and men. He should just stay away and let all those skeletons in his closet stay asleep. If the CEO is dumb enough to put him in as the chief then he deserves what happens to the department and county. Let all the News outlets and investigations begin.

If Pearson comes back this place will get very interesting, all the drama will be fun to watch.

Better get used to carrying your hat with you at all times.

If the last two years have taught us anything, it’s that whatever is done in the dark in the theater of politics eventually comes to light and you WILL be held accountable.

Let’s see who will the nation wide search for police chief will be, oh wait Moses is already here , Pearson could be the chosen one.....

To the anonymous coward calling me out on my service and reputation. Please ID yourself so we can set the record straight on your work history that has led to your axe to grind. No, I don't suspect you care to go there do you? It's to easy to hide behind your key board much like you probably did behind buildings most of your time there. Deputy Chief (Ret) P.G.Gainey

Here's a novel idea. How about for the upcoming decade we focus on actual arrests and HONEST crime reduction (not skewed stats) instead of ticket revenue.

"Skewed stats" reported to FBI (as required by law) is a serious crime if they are being manipulated and thus falsely reported.

Guessing the resurgence of this blog will cause many more retirements.

if it’s true that Pearson is coming back, maybe he thinks his new wife can control the media or any investigation by them since she is still very involved in the Atlanta media. I thinks it would be a bad move for him as the previous post suggested he has a lot of skeletons in his closet that could cause him a lot of grief.

I see we have three academy’s going on at training, I guess that is why we are sending our officers out f the county to a high crime area for the in-service training this year. Where are we going to get vehicles for the new officers, we don’t have vehicles for our current officers. Maybe we can use the new Tahoe’s that the motor guys are driving around in, or maybe we can trade the new 4 wheel drive suburban that swat, bomb and tsu are driving for a bunch of police Tahoes. This place waste so much money on b/s it’s crazy.

SWAT, Bomb, nor TSU have any new Suburbans. There are 2 old Suburbans that should have been deadlines long ago but fleet keeps rebuilding assigned to two veteran TSU detectives. There are 2 other senior TSU detectives who were recently given basic police Tahoe’s when their vehicles (Crown Vics) were replaced - several tens of thousands of miles after they should have been. The last time SWAT or Bomb were issued new vehicles was 2012-2013 - through a federal grant, at no cost to the county. This is part of the issue with this department. Instead of officers coming together in solidarity with the FOP and demanding changes, we have a bunch of malcontents who’d rather finger point, spread rumors and participate in backstabbing and infighting. We are our worst enemies in a lot of ways.

Why is the general consensus to protect the corrupt still there when their former corrupt mentors are either out of positions of influence or in prison? For crying out loud, grow a pair folks.

I miss working in the finest Police Dept ever. we should all get along. There were narcissistic supervisors everywhere. But thankfully the good ones outweighed the bad ones.Unfortunately too many factions exist within Public Safety now that keep the department from revisiting the good old days.

Well I've seen TSU & Bombs driving around in Suburbans and New Tahoe's. So explain why they need Luxury SUV's anyway. All they do is drive in to work and drive back home, its not like they're out on the streets responding to calls or working accidents (which is what they supposedly do but don't) or having to transport J1's. The county could save so much money by giving them Impalas or Malibu's to drive. Why can't they drive the same cars as CID. Those cars aren't driven hard everyday like uniform cars are on a daily basis....its a joke. Take from those who need it and give to those who don't.

Sounds to me like someone has an Ax to grind....maybe you didn't get picked to be in one of those units so now you're butt-hurt over it.....besides you have no idea what the hell you're talking about, those guys carrying more gear than anyone in the department and need larger vehicles....
Go bottle feed or tit suck somewhere else you loser!!

Here’s a little bit of info for you youngsters still there. Historically anytime a chief has stepped down there, numerous federal indictments follow so get ready. Most chiefs don’t want that on their watch when they become aware it’s coming.
