The former Dekalb Police Chief salary was 165,000 a year, The new chief is being paid 218,000 a year.
The Dekalb commissioners received a 60% pay raise, but the second part of the pay decompression to pay the veteran officers of 15+ years has been set aside and forgotten about.

Chief Ramos has no power and can not give anyone a raise. Director Lumpkin and Chief Ramos work for the CEO and the commissioners. they are puppets the only thing they can do is make more bad decisions and screw up this department even more. Lumpkin has already proven he is an idiot so let's watch chief Ramos do the same.

I tried to warn everyone, but I am very happy she is in Georgia and Florida now. Our department morale is already better without her. God speed brothers in blue.

Dekalb county government is the most corrupt county in the state of Georgia,

we don't need a pay raise until they take care of the pay decompression after you fix that then we will appreciate a pay raise but it is not a raise if you have not topped out at your current position.

So the CEO sad at the last academy graduation that he is proposing a significant raise for the police department in his new budget. His last significant raise was 4% , maybe he should talk to Atlanta and see what a significant raise really is.
For the comment earlier about not giving us a raise until the pay compression is fixed. I will take any raise we can get, but yes the compression needs to be fixed. If they want to keep officers then they need to show the younger facets they will treat them right even after 16 or 20 years of service. They have lied to all the officers with 16+ years of service. If they do not correct this then I hope all the young officers leave and go to an agency who will treat them fair for the entire length of their career.
I am willing to bet we are lied to again and nothing happens. The CEO is giving himself a raise by the way. He can’t have the police chief making more than him.

So it has begun, the new chief is starting to flex and show her power , she has limited access to her office from the assistant chiefs and they are to address her only during certain hours.

When she was in Miami she was more concerned with her social life than the police department, she is very prejudice and makes rash decisions without looking at the details.

Has anyone ever asked the CEO or the commissioners why the second phase of the par compression was never implemented, why did they lie to us again.

If we are held accountable for our actions and for being honest why is thebCEOmand commissioners allowed to lie to us and never do the right thing.

The only good thing about working for Dekalb was that I made so little that after I got over the brother in blue thing....it wasnt that hard to replace the salary. It just took me a while to figure out there were other ways to make a living other than being a cop.

It simply isnt worth it folks. Leave. Yall make peanuts......Move on. It will make you do things you would never do if you just sit there and rot for the next 10 years.....waiting on the BOC to correct the pay issues. Good luck. Same conversation as 20 years ago.......

Unless you're still alive and under the old pension pkg with included health benefits etc., why on earth would you waste one minute in that high risk dump?
