TOO BAD!

Has Adam Murphy passed judgement? said...

Was that Dekalb Police "fired on two suspects OR fired on two VICTIMS"?

Has Adam Murphy and Channel 46 deemed them victims yet?

Most of all I am just glad that the officers were not injured. DeKalb County is just out of control. Drug thugs and other perps damn near run the county because they have no fear of the department as a whole. Shootouts between drug boys in public or shootouts with police are commonplace. What will this summer be like?

I am just as angry about the money and the unpaid holidays as the next officer but I am even more upset about the lack of leadership that exists in this department. Where is the plan to deal with crime? O’Brien has been the chief now for over a year and I have yet to see one single thing that even resembles a plan to attack crime. I know he is a nice guy but it is going to take a lot more than just allowing us to wear baseball caps. We need a hard nosed chief who really understands how to police this county and who will put his boot on someone’s ass when necessary. All I see is a good old boy’s club.

Of course some of you will get upset at any negative comment about O’Brien and you will say it is really WZ Miller’s fault. I am not sure it is his responsibility to come up with crime fighting plans but yeah, it is true, I have not heard anything from him either.

Look im damn glad to see our boys were not injured, but damn upset these thugs weren't hit right smack dab in the back of the head at 1200 feet per second.
Travesty of justice if you ask me!
I for one am glad to see the spike in crime, just to goes to show you just how much we are needed.
Whatcha thinking now BOC, OO and Adam, man dont forget that Ol weasel Bernard Watson either.
Without us you maggots couldnt sit at home and enjoy your selfesh lives could ya.
Hide behind your desk and scream for the police to come help you. The very people you condem on a regualr basis.
You all make me sick, you should all stand up along with CBS46 and issue a public apology, confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. Maybe then we will consider if we should protect you as well.
Now leave me be im heading out with dinner with Ethel, she requires lots of grub shes fat!

Little piece of advice, when you have people running the county, ie corrupt politicians, and police, you might has well move. No one cares except the line officers and detectives that fight the war everyday with no help from "upper management. No I understand the upper management cant comment on active shooting investigations but I would be surprised if the officers received any comfront from the BOC, Or CEO because it might cost them votes. If they have a will "say Im sorry" but I think Im safe from that. Keep taking our money and respect that we deserve and you will be fighting the streets all by your selves. We deserve better and our profession deserves better. I'm sick of this place.

Folks, Dekalb County is a cess pool. If Georgia was a person then Dekalb County would be the anus. How do I know this? because crap pours out of the county on a daily basis. You can dress crap up in fancy clothes or uniforms with lots of brass, give them nice offices and fancy titles but the smell is still there. The inmates are running the asylum. Incompetence breeds incompetence and this county is overloaded with incompetence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank GOD all of the officers involved in the "shoot-outs" are fine, not injured. Thank you all for the hard work, dedication that you provide on a day to day basis.
Sincerely,
Radio

Since Katrina many of us have been noting the rise in crime in DeKalb. It looks like DeKalb is entering a new era and we know the CEO and BOC are clueless as what the "new era" is or how to confront this. I really hate to say this, but I expected more when O' Brien was appointed Chief, then Ellis brought in the "Wiz" as director. They appear imminantly qualified but I see no vision, no new programs to quash gang violence and drugs, which appear to be fueling the crime and violence in DeKalb.
It's not hard to lead guys, you just have to do it, and that's not happening.

Its becoming frustrating to leave home everyday and put my life on the line only to have ignorant people who never walked in my shoes judge an officers actions. Even family members and close friends are so oblivious to the situations that we actually expose ourselves to! What we really need is to some-how educate the general public on what we go through and let them have knowledge of our everyday lives... but of course this is wishful thinking and would take years to establish...so in my one on one interactions with the general public I try my best to respectfully convey our perspective...
