The Dekalb County Police has lost a one-of-a-kind Police Officer. It is with great sadness we tell you that Retired Sgt. Jeff Wiggs passed away Saturday. Sgt. Wiggs was still very active in police work, as he was the state president for the F.O.P. in Georgia and an active reserve officer with the city of Lithonia Police.
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Service information will be posted as they are completed.

I am in shock, I just saw him last week and he was laughing and smiling, he was a great human being and an awesome officer. he will be missed.
i have no words, we have lost a good leader and officer.
Wow! He was such a nice person, always smiling! He will be missed, sending prayers to his family.
Jeff was the current President of the F.O.P. for the state of Georgia, He was always looking out for police officers, this was one reason Chief Ramos would not allow him to be a Dekalb reserve officer.
He was a helicopter pilot and was working to fill in at the department and the new chief said …kick him out…. they need help too
and this is what the CEO give us for leadership.
It is Memorial Day today. I ran into a Dekalb Officer where I worked as an Election Poll worker last week. We spoke about Jeff. I did not know he had passed, and I am heartbroken. I knew him to be a kind soul, supremely committed to the Dekalb officers with whom he worked. He loved his job and his life and all he wanted to do was give back in so many ways. I feel great fortune in having known him. Say 'hi' to Bob for me, Jeff!! XO
