An Anonymous Comment That Deserves a Main Page Posting

I'm sure that the staff thinks the people that comment here are just disgruntled employees. The fact is that people that comment are those that want to make the PD a better place. They see the problems and injustices up close. They see the wastes and inefficiencies first hand.

They don't have the luxury of being in the group that gets to talk to the commission or the media to make the problems known. This is the only outlet. They have no representation to speak of and this is how they get the word out, hoping that someone with some initiative and sense of community will investigate the stupidity and waste.

DeKalb PD has an historical knack for cultivating "disgruntle-ness" (is there such a word), but you get the point....just wish someone in charge would get the point.

Disgruntled officers show up, answer their calls, and write the mininum number of tickets required to keep them below they radar.

I agree with anonymous and would add....

The officers that post here went into policing for more than just a paycheck and a pension. They take pride in what they do and the department they represent.

They're ashamed of where we are as a department and the direction we are headed.

They want Dekalb PD to be the crown jewel of the Southeast that it once was. They want to be able to do their jobs, do it well, and once again be one of the top departments in the entire country.

Someone called them "traitors" in the AJC's Vent. If doing the right thing and being respected for it is being a traitor...you can sign me up.
