DeKalbOfficers respond to "Anonymous"

From the time we moderated your post, we tried just to let your comments slide on by, but we just can’t go without responding. You stated that it seems we just complain and we do nothing about our situation.

It is obvious you have never served in the military or worked in a para-military field. We have to operate within the rules and regulations and policy (excepting this blog; who loves ya TeBo?). We can’t just storm into Bolton’s office (first thing, the 4th floor is cut off from anyone under the rank of Major) and tell him we believe he is delusional and probably suffers from a form of psychosis and should be institutionalized.

But we can make reasonable suggestions through our chain of command. But the chain of command controls how far the suggestions go. More times then not, the suggestion goes straight into the garbage can. Not that the suggestion was bad or anything, but it would show others how incompetent most of the command staff is.

We are doing something about the situation. Through this blog, we have brought to light and informed the taxpayers, who are the real bosses, what is going on in this department, and they are listening. If you will review the Transition Report, it mirrors everything we have “complained” about during the existence of this blog.

Just the fact that we established this blog puts our careers and families livelihood at risk. If our identity is ever learned, most likely we will be fired on the spot. (Then we would have something in common with TeBo.)

We do not take the time and unpaid effort of running this blog just to bitch. We do it out of concern for the safety of the citizens of DeKalb, like you, and the safety of the officers. We do have morals and we cannot stand by idly while millions and millions of taxpayer’s dollars are wasted, especially under Bolton’s leadership.

As for Dunwoody: If you will read the header of the blog, it reads in short:”a place to hold discussions, post news and vent”. The establishment of Dunwoody and its police department is news.

Finally: " YOU control your happiness. Notcar1, at least you're taking control of your destiny”. Sorry, but no one controls their own destiny, hence the word.

But we do thank you for reading, contributing and most of all, your support

Some people might claim yall bitch and do nothing, not all of us feel that way. There are many of us who applaud you for your efforts. I have lived in DeKalb for almost 50 years and am glad that we have dedicated, caring officers.

I also want to comment that I was delighted to find your sight. Many times I have read posts that brings tears to my eyes.

This County has gone to hell in a hand-bag as my Mama used to say, God rest her soul. Like I said, there are many, many of us who applaud your efforts within the system. It is a hard system to fight.

God bless you all!

As a long-time county resident, thank you for this blog. It's opened the eyes of many, many county residents to better understand the police dept., good, bad & ugly.

This value of this site is enormous. Keep up the great work.

P.S. I've heard that every elected official and Maloof Bldg. big wig checks out this site, along with DeKalb County School Watch, InDecatur, Go DeKalb, Cross Road News, Heneghan's Dunwoody Blog, Andy Phelan's articles on The Champion wesbiste, and some others. But DeKalb Officers is the one that causes the most commotion down at the Maloof Bldg. So you must be doing something right!

THANK YOU!!

Recently learned of your blog via Heneghans. Wish I'd known of it earlier; thanks for your time and effort to shine some light into a few of the County's darker corners. Jack.

Count me in as another DeKalb County resident who thinks your use of this blog has impact. This is hardly "doing nothing" despite what an anonymous poster has said.

Your efforts should yield a positive result shortly after January 1.

Might one of the first acts of our new Chairman be to require all Police Chiefs to domicile within DeKalb County? Or require a Chief to be able to respond physically to any crisis spot within the county in one hour or less, unless on sick leave or vacation?

Without your shining a light on this, the rats would continue to work within the dark, rather than under the focus of all of DeKalb County.

Slamin Ethel says that I too feel ashamed of where Dekalb has gone no thanks to VJ who single handly took the county to it's knees. I grew up in South Dekalb attended Towers High, and finished up at Stn Mtn. It was a great place to live, I remember walking to and from school, work, and the stores without fear of ever being robbed, shot, or a victim of any crime. I hate to see what it has become. Afetr the military I came back and went to work for Dekalb and loved being a police officer. Now I dont even want to be seen in the uniform that bears shame no thanks to the corupt Vernon Jones who I will not call my CEO, the corupt and alleged police chiefs by the names of Louis Graham, Ol Flim Flam Flimister, who was nothing more than a product of affirmative actions at its best. Did anyone ever listen to the way he spoke???.
Now we are stuck with Tebo and again i say I wouldnt follow any of them into battle.
Instead I would lead the way hoo rah.
Chief Burgess please come back.

I can't believe people think you do nothing with this site. You are letting us citizens see what is wrong with DKPD as well as when the leaders are lying. If it wasn't for this site many in my neighborhood would still be cheering magic buses!
A sincere thank you to ya'll for giving us an honest view into DKPD.
Hopefully we can keep Burrell's ear and hear stories of DKPD improvement in the next year.
