I'm in.

IA at Dekalb should be getting a request from Dunwoody for a copy of my EMPTY FILE in short order.

I'm done and I'm not gonna wait for someone in Dekalb to stand up and finally do the right thing.

I'm getting too old, had high annual reviews, and have too much experience and education for that.

I'll get to work with the same jail and the same prosecutors. I'll just get a treated a little better.

I'm not the enemy. The bad guys are.

What's the old saying "The grass is always greener on the other side" , give some time and Dekalb Police will be back on top again. The question will Dunwoody last long enough to draw a retirement?

I think once Dekalb has new leadership , we will become the best and Dunwoody will look at the cost factor. Looking at 12 hour shifts and 5 officers per a shift, guess what..sick and vacation days.. how many left? Then they will call on Dekalb to come help them in a crisis and we will. The future is still yet to be determine.

Gentlemen, you both have valid points. Notcar1, I wish you the best. I often read the posted comments from officers and wonder, instead of complaining, do something about it. YOU control your happiness. Notcar1,at least you're taking control of your destiny. Although I hate to see officers leaving for what they think will be better, I respect you. I'm a DeKalb citizen, and I will stay here. I still love this county, and its citizens. NOBODY can change that. I just have one question....Why are we posting Dunwoody's stuff on the page created for DeKalb Officers. Everyone is clear on Dunwoody. Lets continue to use this site for OUR officers.

I think the police just hate to let Dunwoody go...lot's of us were raised( police wise) in the north pct. Thanks to Jones, its gone now.

Not gone....just under a new management.

You will still be able to police in Dekalb, use the Dekalb jail, work with the Dekalb prosecutors and work in what used to be North Precinct.

Difference is you'll have a take home car (by year 2)and a new uniform.

Here's what appears to be coming for DKPD. The sheriff's office is providing the CEO Elect's protection detail currently as PD is not trusted. Larger departments than this have been enveloped by sheriff departments and disolved completely. With the current work relation we are right on course for the same.

Just a curious Dunwoody resident here, but I am curious what approach we can expect from the new officers hired in Dunwoody. This really is a low crime area, really no major highways, blighted areas, seedy areas, housing projects, etc. Do you think this would be a BORING place to work?
The chief is looking to have 5 officers working per 12 hour shift to cover 12 sq miles. Do you think this is a bit much?
