Ann Ramey's Voluntary Demotion Rescinded

Because of C.E.O. Ellis' order freezing all transfers, promotions and demotions, Major Ramey's voluntary demotion has been rescinded.

She is in 'lame duck" status.

What's up with that. O'Brien doesn't strike me as one that would make a simple mistake like that......demoting someone without getting permission to do so after Ellis put out his general order.

Or...did Ramey actually ask to be made an Lt. and they just reacted to her asking without clearing it with Ellis?

I'll file this in the "strange" category.

Did the CEO approve King Rancifer's transfer or reassignment of Deputy Chief Isom to go sit in Deputy Chief Horner's office for 2 weeks to 'learn how to be a Deputy Chief?' Seems like the CEO's Executive Order was put in place to specifically prevent this type of transfer/reassignment - one that is meant to demean or humiliate!

What do we need to do to put an end to Ranifer's reign? Is Ellis still reading this blog if so surely he sees how bad this guy is for the department. Anybody got any good effective ways to get Decatur's attention on Rancifer?

it sounds like the people that dont like rancifer are taking personal shots at him beacuse they were kicked out of special ops. like a lieutenant (swat) and or an mpo (star team). they shouldnt have been there to begin with. i mean come on. an mpo that wont even fight and lets a dui suspect slap him...geez. their even using his dui video in training of what not to do.

Which posts were made by the MPO or the Lt? I didn't pick up on anything that indicated either of them made the posts.

The MPO got further training and was transferred...he's just trying to pick up the pieces and get on with his career. He has nothing to do with any of this. The comment you posted was a cheap shot at someone who works hard and who's already been beat down. Totally uncool and uncalled for.

The LT....I'm not familar with his or her situation so I can't comment.

The personal shots seem to be coming from someone high on Rancifer's list who is shooting blindly at easy targets.

That's the worst post I've seen to date.

You guys have really pissed Lt AJ off by talking bad about his idol, Chief Rancifer. If you replace Rancifer that means AJ would have to buy Rancifer's replacement a $900 gun, with his name engraved on it, as a gift too. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!!

"Chief Rancifer"??

In his mind he is...That might explain his ego.

To the poster who spoke of a SWAT lieutenant getting, “kicked out of Special Ops” it appears that you are talking about Rutland. The vast majority of the SWAT Team wants him back. He treated men like men. I believe he wouldn’t go along with kooky ideas and kiss Rancifer’s ass enough so he had to go. AJ on the other hand, by ALL accounts, is more than willing. Really now, is this any different than the many other decent supervisors who have been kicked out of positions to make room for a Bolton loyalist? It has happened all over the department. If you stand up you get pushed aside, but if you lie down and kiss their ass you get moved up. There are a huge number of officers from all over the department who can not stand Rancifer. Trying to blame it on just two people is insane, and quite frankly it sounds like something Bolton would do.

I've never worked directly for Rutland, but each time I've had contact with him, he's left me very impressed. I first met him by chance while I was in the Academy. I've always thought he's a leader that I would enjoy working for. He comes across as a professional with high standards and ethics.

He's always been professional and, though he out ranked me by a mile, he always treated me like a fellow officer.....not a peon who didn't deserve the time of day.

If asked the question "would you follow him thru a door?"....my answer would always be "Hell yeah! Where's the door?"

Good advice Slamin Ethel, why dont you follow it yourself? Check your own post, you whine more than most.

what???

Slamin Ethel, what are you talking about? No one said anything negative about Chief O’Brien. Now as for this other matter that the Rancifer worshiper has alleged; I say you should leave the poor MPO alone. Why get on this blog and attack that guy? He has absolutely no power or influence in this department whatsoever. He is not in some special position. Save your criticisms for those who are in power and doing damage to the department! I’m not going to bother defending Rutland because he is a lieutenant, he is a big boy, and BELIEVE ME he can defend himself!

Back to Ramey’s demotion being rescinded. If you are a Lt you are Merit System protected so if you are fired you have the right to an appeal. But if you are a Major you are not Merit System protected so if you are fired you can’t appeal. It is the only reason I can come up with.

I worked with Rutland and A.J., even though they disagreed with one another during SWAT, things got done. Rancifer on the other hands wants to run his own little police dept. He enjoys power and flexing his muscles. When in the real world has he been in the line of fire. I don't believe flying a helicopter would count. SWAT needs to be returned to the rightful people and in his hands I seriously doubt that. Strike Force/Black Cats need to be where they belong, proactively working, not issuing citations. Enough said.
