Sweeping Changes.......Finally

With the commissioners finally approving the appointment of Bill O’Brien as Chief of Police, thus letting him put in place his command staff, this department’s future just got a little brighter.

This department has suffered for years because of Vernon Jones and his appointment of previous police chiefs who can only be described as inept, and one can probably been be described as criminal.

But times change and in this case things have changed for the better. Chief O’Brien has cleaned house of Terrell Bolton’s command staff, and has replaced them with qualified individuals. Did Chief O’Brien do the impossible of pleasing everyone? Of course not, like we said, that is simply impossible. But he has made very sound decisions that will lead this department into the future on a positive note.

Chief O’Brien has a very large task ahead of him and should be commended for taking on the job. We ask that you give Chief O’Brien time. It took years to get where we are now. Chief O’Brien is working under restraints. He doesn’t have the power of magic to snap his fingers to make everything perfect.

Look around at the destruction that Louis Graham and Terrell Bolton left behind. Honestly, would you really want the job?

A serious shake-up! Not really surprised with who got promoted and who got shafted. A little shocked that people with badge numbers over 2000 are being promoted to LT. We'll see what happens next. However, there is some good to come out of this beyond a rousing game of musical chairs.

It's particularly heartening to see that we will have fewer chiefs...there were far too many before. I'm also excited to see SWAT, Narcotics, Intelligence, and Gangs back in CID under a unified command. I sincerely believe all of these units will be far more effective...maybe we will see a return of the Black Cats?

Hey I hear Waddleton is getting the hell out of this madness after she got royally screwed over by obrien and miller. great job on running off the only working commander you had, idiots. im sure the directors former girlfirends will do a much better job.

We're not worthy, we're not worthy!! We suck!!....can I go to laser/lidar school in Decatur now?

Anyone else shocked by Holmes and Lane moving up so high? Didn't Lane just make Major? How can I kiss Miller's ass so I can get a piece of the pie. It's Miller time! Whoo-Hoo

Damn somebody please call a lawyer for Waddleton. Lets review, 3 w/m majors appointed by bolton kept their jobs. All blacks demoted got sought after assignments. The w/m's demoted got or retained sought after assignments. Damn Don Frank got treated better and a.. kissing Horner too. Good god almighty, oh looks like the new boss wants her to be his commander trainer too.

Anonymous said...

Oh yea forgot one more, Karen Anderson from Atlanta even kept her job as a Major. Hello lawyer are you out there.

Anonymous said...

Waddleton got screwed. Would hate to see her go, hard to find females that know how to manage well.

Anonymous said...

Give time for the dust to settle on this one, then I am sure there will be more. You cannot change everything at once, and give the Chief time to let this settle and make the additional changes he needs to make.

Good riddance to these ass kissing cowards who got DEMOTED.

I say, I say, I say….I sure do hope they kept there feathers numbered for just such an emergency!!!!!!

Like I have been saying all along

"ROCK ON CHIEF O'BRIEN"

Im damn glad to see some people spanked around and we all know who they were, and even happier to see the ones that were promoted great choices none of which I have ever known to be criminals.

And too think that Lil Miss news leaker was demoted. It would seem they found the mole!

I believe one commander said recently all these officers with over 30 years should retire. That was a stupid remark. We need experience in leadership roles.

Anonymous said...

Who is this poster in love with Waddleton? Just ask her out already!

Lots of good changes have been made! Everyone who got demoted should do some serious soul searching!

Anonymous said...

hey slamin ethel leave me a number I got little something to say to you.

Looks like promoted on her smile Mooneyham came out smelling like a rose. Got demoted, then given a new title and more money im sure. Oh I forgot her husband is Director Miller's aide.

Let's not forget that Waddleton sold out all of her buddies to tebo to get the double promotion she received. Looking forward to seeing how she reacts to Holmes, Klies, Lane-Woodard, Lane, and Gassner after she critized each of them and their inability to manage. Other than that, great moves overall, that is if we measure this by the director's hidden agenda. More to come I'm sure. Stay tuned...

Oh Me Oh My Oh said...

I guess Bush from Atlanta gets to stay where he is? None of the miller time happy hour buddy promotions are surprising. Anderson still a major and Frank still employed? Wonder what O'Brien would have done if it had all been up to him? Godspeed Chief, you got a crap hand but we got your back. Let's just make it work. (putting in for Gwinnett though just in case)

Good luck to you people who have to sit through meetings with the two new assistant chiefs. They both comunicate by mumbling like Boomhauer from King of the Hill.

Mixed feelings-

* Surprised by a few promotions.

* The few that I know or have worked with that got promoted are worth their salt and are honest. Real stand-up people.

* Surprised more are not on their way out, aka....retiring...willing or unwilling.

* Disappointed to see some not touched or moved. An ass kisser is one who sells out the troops and can't be trusted. Chief, they'll undermine your objectives too.

* Disappointed that someone didn't get detailed to Animal Control with additional responsibility for the Crossing Guard Unit.

Really anonymous what would you say that I dont already know?
The truth has has been spoken and, apparently im not the only one who knows.
You cant stick people in the back to make your way to the top like "George and Wezzy".
But if you want my number 867-5309 ask for Jenny.
Now leave me be, Ethel needs to be slapped a bit more.

Does anybody else see the sweet justice in Maj Stathis after bein promoted demoted and jerked around by the Vernon Squad is now The Don's Major HAHA

Anonymous said...

Jagoe..Good move and deserving. Former Major Felony guy who has been through the mill.

Gassner..ehhhh

Lane Woodward ehhhhhhhh

Coulda done better than those two.

Waddleton should have stayed a chief.

Anonymous said...

If Frank has any character at all, he should just quit.

Poor Maleta announces her retirement 5 minutes after she gets demoted...why am I not surprised? She has always been weak. Always looked for cush jobs that kept her up somebody's 4th point of contact so she wouldn't be nearthe street. I guess she doesn't want to throw out her neck looking over her shoulder for the people she stabbed. Good riddence.

I guess the saying "what goes 'round, comes 'round" certainly holds true with many of the demotions and transfers. And I agree about Maj. Stathis. He is one well-deserving of getting his rank back AND making it down to East. As for The Don answering to him now? Like I said "what goes 'round, comes 'round". You rule! Major Stathis! Good luck....and to The Don: guess next time I run into you at the old QT, you won't have that air of superiority about you that always seemed to be your trademark. Tell me what vehicle you are driving now, so I will be able to recognize you-might be difficult without that sh!!-eating grin pasted all over your face. Bet those blondes you always flirted with won't even give you the time of day now that you've been "stripped".

Dude raggin on Lane and Gassner..BOTH WAY more qualified than "never did anything in her career" Waddleton..NEITHER ONE EVER EVER NOT ONCE drank the Bolton Kool Aid like Waddleton, who was two fistin' it..BOTH with impeccable reputations and unimpeachable leadership skills..BOTH ALWAYS ALWAYS stood up for their troops, and Maleta can't even spell "stood up" because she was such a Bolton suckup..Finally, some females in upper command staff that I can look up to, and so can all the other female officers..I hear some SERIOUS HATING..maybe it's Waddleton's former aide posting that mess..geez dude, you're still a Lt, get over it!!!

Anonymous said...

Gee, Can we have an indictment.
What does it take?

Anonymous said...

Waddleton was the one who praise BOLTON every chance she got to in front of a group.

Anonymous said...

Hahahahah....you put Frank and character in the same sentence.

Anonymous said...

Good to see 200 is 10-12 for the time being.

Anonymous said...

If Frank had character he would just quit?

He'll quit, but not because he has character!

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I hope they put his sorry, lying, NCIC/GCIC rule breaking butt on morning watch!

Got a chance to work for chief WADDLETON when she was a capt great women very friendly and professional hate see her go like this. One clique gone another one takes it's place.

Previous poster;

"Gassner..ehhhh
Lane Woodward ehhhhhhhh

Waddleton should have stayed a chief."

Just for your information,

Gassner: Is also a former Major Felony girl and been through the Bolton/Keisha mill. She also worked SWAT, Narcotics, and Property Crimes along with being the best Major I ever had at South Precinct

A Lane: Has worked Narcotics, Intelligance, Y/S Crimes, and Property Crimes and was also one of the best supervisors I've ever worked for in uniform and CID.

Both are qualified for their positions so why the personal dig????

More importantly we need to get away from the shameless and petty name calling going on around here. You may not agree with all of the appointments but all of them have been long term employees with this department and worked in many specialized units and uniform during their careers. When you make Chief or Director then have at it, make you're own command staff. Until that day comes why don't we all get behind our leadership, do our jobs, and continue to improve this department?

Anonymous said, "Good to see 200 is 10-12 for the time being."

Yeah...as long as he's 10-12 at YOUR precinct.

I kinda figured from all the self-congratulating posts that Whittington would be promoted to Major and Center Evening Watch would become the new District Net Team.

200 IS DA SHIZNIT AND THATS WHY HES 10-12!

I love the way people use the name As- Kisser ect. When all they do is their job. Everyone bitches about the past staff. They bitch about the new staff and they have not even moved into their office. The embarrassment has never been the chief’s or the staff or the new staff. It’s the people here that have no balls have no work ethic and are impotent to do anything but hide behind their computer. (Some while searching for camping equipment). Shut up do your job and do it well. And let the ones that want to go in peace.

BEING in major felony and actualy working and accomplishing something are two different things.
Two more empty suits get big promotions...fantasy.

Anonymous said...

What about some of these people on the permanent gravy tran as "aides". When the hell do they get the chance to do some real police work?

Anonymous said...

200 is 10-12 at MY precinct and I'm happy about it. I'M here and YOU'RE somewhere else, so let's just be glad we are both happy with our current assignment.

Don Frank, remember in 1999 when I told you (in front of old 34) not to forget where you came from? I warned you about laying up with the perp dogs (in Decatur and in the department) to get ahead.
