Bad Checks, Foreclosure, Unpaid Bills Plague Commissioner

Even louder, we call for the resignation of Commissioner Sharon Barnes Sutton.

Well, couldn't we write a dissertation on this information.
Only one point: she says it's not a case of being irresponsible...? Seems if you're having financial difficulties, you shouldn't be haulin' your a$$ around in a Lexus and then default on the payments. Not living within your means is how SO MANY in this great nation got into trouble.

The commissioner is not going to resign, unless some really bad dirt appears.
Sutton has displayed a history of writing bad checks and a recent home foreclosure reveals financial irresponsibility at best and zero financial integrity at worst, hence the Gwinnett warrants. Sutton had the chance to do the right thing and pay her debts and she made the deliberate choice not to.
Sutton's responsibilty as a member of the budget committee should be reviewed and terminated.

Interesting that she would claim that she is unable to pay her bills, yet in 2008 when she was running for her Commission seat she loaned herself $34,000 to fund her campaign.

wow, how typical, she cant afford shit, nothing but the clothes on her back... umm lets see, I think today I will go buy a lexus that I cant afford, it will take them at least three months to repo it. Shes running our budget???? Really?? Just another example of poor money management in DeKalb County. The only reason she paid her debts is because she got caught. Had she not gotten in the accident, they would have went unpaid. Again the only reason she is sorry is because she was caught!!

Makes you wonder how much of our budget has found it's way into her pocket?????

Financial hardships can happen to anyone, especially in today's financial climate. AND I'm all for picking yourself back up after you've fallen down, BUT. Sorry charlie, no way you can she can say she has learned from her choices or has become equipped to handle finances better, let alone represent the citizens in the manner befitting an elected official. Sometimes I think DeKalb County is a twilight zone. How do 800,000 people tolerate this kind of garbage from people who are supposed to serve them. Where are the petitions to remove her?

"DeKalb officials are investigating the police who allowed Sutton to leave the scene of the accident despite the outstanding warrants."

They would like to praise this officer and promote them for not arresting one of their own underhanded dirt-bags.

Barnes-Sutton needs to resign. She has broken the law. Mistakes happen but the point is that even after learning that the checks had bounced she did not make an effort to pay what she owed. She has zero credibility to govern anything at this point. She cannot even run her own house, much less DeKalb County. At a minimum she should be taken off the Budget Committee as soon as possible. Why was she assigned to the budget committee and not more experienced commissioners like Elaine Boyer or Jeff Rader? It sounds like some very questionable decisions have been made by the commission chairman Larry Johnson.

What we all fail to realize is that Sutton is part of handeling the county budget. If she can't handle her own finances, how in the hell can she do the county? I see more furlough days coming soon!!!!!
