What Else Is In Store For DeKalb County Because of Terrell Bolton's Low Hiring Standards?

DeKalb Officer Accused of Rape

A DeKalb county police officer has been arrested on charges he raped a woman in custody and offered to release another woman if she exposed herself to the officer, police said.

Jeremy Reynolds has been charged with rape, aggravated sodomy and sexual assault against a person in custody. The officer has also been charged with two counts of violation of oath of office.

The woman Reynolds is accusing of raping is a prostitute, according to sources.

Sources tells Channel 2 Action News reporter Mark Winne that the officer was taken into custody after he reported to work on Friday.

Key word is accused...any of us can be "accused" of doing something to these POS we J1....

I bet this is another one we can thank Tonya Dedrick for. Check the file im sure she is responsible. Thanks again for your incompetence.

Tell me we don't have another Steve Goble case among our officer's. This case sounds almost text book to Gobles case from 15yrs ago.....nearly identical.

Stay classy, San Diego.

I doubt he would have been J1'd based solely on the claims of a prostitute.

The accuser is a prostitute?? I mean, not that that completely destroys her credibility, but come on now. I just cant see a prostitute adamantly 'refusing' service, what did she get pissed because he didnt pay or cut her a break?? But hey, I wasnt there and only the officer and the woman truly know what happened....oh, and apparently IA

I don't know this officer and I certainly don't know any of the evidence against him pertaining to these allegations. But, needless to say, given past incidents of officer misconduct within our department, this just makes me sick to my stomach.

So, I propose this. Since the county is having a hell of a time paying us raises or even keeping everyone on the payroll, perhaps the county might consider reduction in force by reviewing officers' performance and morale character to weed out the bad apples amongst us.

We had these things way before Bolton. Mann, Gag, Goble and few others. Things will leak through with time. Just glad he is gone. O ya theres a lot more than just what was report.

Anon #6 you’re another one that must have been a recent hire.
“I just can’t see a prostitute adamantly 'refusing' service, what did she get pissed because he didnt pay or cut her a break??”
Are you saying if she got what she asked for a free ride or money it would be ok for the officer to have sex with her on duty?
And if you read the story there is more than one.
Ooo Ya and IA does not investigate criminal actions for criminal prosecution. Let me give you what the FBI would call a clue. The name is “Internal Affairs” They are covered by Garrity and nothing that they discover through an INTERNAL investigation can be used in the CRIMINAL PROSACUTION. CID has to conduct an investigation separate from IA. Usually IA will sit back and let CID get theirs done and then play off that. They can use everything in their case that CID gets. So before you comment please know what you’re talking about.

To Anon #9 who was addressing Anon #6:

Yes, you're right about Garrity, for now. Rumor has it Gwen Keyes is trying to challenge Garrityvso she can screw over Torey Thompson.

To anonymous who responded to the comment #6...first of all, calm your @$$ down, you're awfully excited over someone else's problem. From what I'm reading in comment #6, the question about did the woman get pissed because the offc didn't pony up the dough, or release her didnt have the undertones about this being 'ok' I think they were simply fishing for that liiittle thing called *MOTIVE* but CLEARLY you already knew that and you're more than likely an officer yourself or CID. Uptight, much??????

I wish him well and hope it is not true.

I can say that he comes across/came across as a good officer and a good person. I was shocked to hear of this and pray it is not true.

Sticking your noodle in a prostitute?, always a bad choice.

I didn't know Reynolds that well or for that long but he seemed to be a good kid; Respectful, intelligent and good natured - but unfortunately maybe a little naive. Frankly I was shocked when I heard the accusations against him and have to wonder what really happened that night. My gut tells me those hookers manipulated him and the situation that night and NOT the other way around. If that's the case, it's just a damn shame that he didn't have enough common sense and professionalism to avoid that trap. I'd like think this was more of a case of him being stupid than criminal.

Hey guys, Garrity means that information IA obtained from the accused employee cannot be used against that same employee in a criminal proceeding. Everything else is admissible.

This sounds the same as the one at Tucker last year. I have yet to see any prostitute that I want to be in the same zip code with much less touch. I hope he scrubbed himself with the purple top wipes afterwards.

Sex has always been a weak spot for DKPD. From what I have seen over the past two decades it used to be a lot worse. Chief Hand (possibly the best chief DeKalb ever had) got canned because he couldn't keep his pants zipped around his ditzy secretary, I remember watching the text messages scrolling on the old CADS server around three in the morning and some of them were damning to say the least. The really nasty thing about computer Email is that it is retained for years on a hard drive somewhere, even after you have deleted the message. The techs normally are too busy to read your Emails, but I would treat all Email as an public document and act accordingly. I would love to get my hands on Vern's old emails. I suspect there is a lot of dirt in there that would explain why we have not received raises over the last 12 years, but that is a subject for later discussion.
We are all adults, and sex is part of our lives that is best left in private and off-duty. Too many DKPD cops have gotten in trouble with sex on the job, good people have had their careers destroyed because they were thinking with the smaller head... if you get my drift.
Be safe out there guys, and think about the consequences if you get caught like the unfortunate DeKalb officer was. 100 attaboys can be destroyed in an instant, and you do not want your name headlining the AJC.

My thoughts exactly...he didnt seem like a bad dude. We never truly know somebody but still.

To LowFlyer: love to read your posts. When I first came to DeKalb E M S in'89, one of my old timer partners had a very similar saying : One oh shit! wipes away 10 atta boys. In time, I learned just how true that saying was. Let me add one more: When I'm right, no one remembers. When I'm wrong, no one forgets. These 2 should be included in the next printing of the S O P manual.

Okay, this man was fired. Which means he was more than accused. He did some confessing!!! Oh and he's dropping names. I think the psych test should include testing for predatory sexual issues lol!!

Based on the level of professionalism among the "Tebo" hires, Im not suprised at all. There are some good ones, but overall I'm not impressed with the "Tebo" hires. If you get your feelings hurt, too bad, grow and stop crying about how an MPO or Sgt told you to do your job in a "mean" way. Handle your calls and write your reports like you are supposed to. Work your way up the ladder instead of expecting it to be given to you.

Anon 18 @ 7pm, I remember the Presidential Hotel debacle all right. I'm not with DKPD anymore, but I had lobby duty there while on light duty. This was when we were first put up there to provide "security" because of the radio repeaters on the roof. I'm happy my L-D was only a few days so I can honestly say I witnessed absolutely nothing! Stay safe guys.

I always try to see the good in everyone. I wait on DeKalb employees everyday and I only see the good. I was that way with Cheif Bolton and Cheif Foster and ended up very disappointed after I heard stories from others.

I am behind DeKalb all the way and I do my part.

Now someone tell me more about what happened at the Presidential!
