The character of our Nation as a people is defined by those who daily put on a uniform and at their own peril defend it.
I wonder how many lived the donut creep from the TV station saves..or really...has he ever done any public service at all or does he just ridicule those of us that do this for a living ?

418E, you are a hero. Your quick arrival and fearless intervention was a display of your character, morals, passion and regard for human life. Pat yourself on the back, JOB WELL DONE.

Officer Peeler = Brave. Proud of many brave actions of the DKPD especially in the face of problems with pay. Thank you for all you do DKPD!

Good job Sgt. Peeler! Finally, a good story about DeKalb P.D. I like it! After the volume of ammo that has been expended by our officers over the last few weeks with about a 5% hit ratio, leave it to a SWAT guy to show how it is done. 1 shot – 1 kill! Apparently there really is a difference between SWAT and TRT!!! I’m not even on SWAT, I ‘m just saying.

I think that I heard someone say that there is a difference between shooting a dog and shooting a perp that is shooting at you. I could be wrong, but...

Hey DUMB A@$ why you got to hate on TRT you moron. One uses lethal force (SWAT) one uses less lethal. OBTY since TRT has been around I can't remember the last time we had a police car damaged at Yerkes.
But back to the story Great Job Sergeant Peeler you have done well young Jedi Knight.

I'm really impressed with knowing he had to fight the dogs off the little girl before he could even think of shooting or tazing them. He really put himself in harm's way to save that little girl! That's what this job is all about! Outstanding work!

Good job, baby. Did what you needed to do.
It's more clear-cut, less fraught with dangers, when making a decision like this, when animals are involved. Why won't people understand that some 'humans' are as dangerous as these animals to deal with, yet the decisions are more difficult to make because you've got all the "Monday morning quarterbacks" questioning your decisions? Some mistakes will be made, but it's a 'casualty of war'.
God bless ya guys - I know what you go through.

OOOHHHHH! Someone hit a nerve and hurt TRTs feelings! So a TRT member is lecturing SWAT on what it is like to be in a shootout??? That is why you guys are the joke of the department, (no matter what Moore and Clere tell you) because you have no idea what you are talking about. And I could be wrong but I think the SWAT Team has had a few perps shoot at them over the years and you will find those perps in various grave yards around the city. But don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story if it makes you feel good about yourself.

Now back to the real story. Peeler saved that girls life and that is fantastic (SWAT or no SWAT). I don’t think police officers get enough credit for saving lives. Fire fighters get credit for saving lives but people just talk about the police killing people. The fact is that police officers save many lives and it is just not reported as often.
