Like it or not at least he came through the ranks to his position now. Some of you Anonymous posters just hate everyone don't you. Lighten up or Light it up and lets cop a glow my friend.

I don't hate Wiz Miller I just think he is more concerned with being a politician and less concerned with making this department better or even running decently. That goes for the rest of the PD command staff as well.

Other than eliminating a couple of the assitant chief positions and filling the remaining positions with their own people, what has the administration done to change, let alone improve, this department? I can't think of a single thing. Manpower is still mismanaged, the CAD is still as bad as ever, there are still not enough cars, etc., etc.

I'm assuming an EKG was hooked up or some other quick exam was used to determine she was not suffering from a heart attack. After the emergency has been determined to not be an emergency why can't her son drive her to the hospital? Everynight I hear people being transported for minor injuries and then people wonder why when there's a real emergency a unit is not responsible.

The hard answer to this supposed hard question is this, lady you weren't suffering a heart attack and you are not an emergency that requires a transport via ambulance.

Bloody hail!!! Does anyone think this smells fishy because the Atrium at Georgetown facility is in Dunwoody ???

Assuming that an ekg was performed is stating a guess in this mismanaged cluster I would assume nothing. Director Miller could have stated this if it was a fact and everything would look like it was handled correctly but by ducking the reporter it makes him and the dept look like they are in the wrong and they may well be.

Well at least get the story right. Director Miller was told by the reporter that he would not air anything until he talked with the Director, he lied....Director Miller the next day just told him to hit the road....

I completely agree with W Z Miller on this one. This reporter ran a story and then tried to do the interview. This is ass backwards sensational journalism and nothing more. The Director does not have to kiss these people’s ass. Like Miller said, what is there to talk about, you have already aired the story.

I am not sure what this web site has against Director Miller anyway. It sure seems personal to me.

I for one am not against Dir Miller I do believe as I did under Dick and Tom the position is not needed but personally I like him. It is best to not get in a pissing contest with the media and he could have turned that story into a positive if an ekg was actually run if not the response is indefensible. I also like that Dir Miller was a Dekalb Police Officer I wish him well but will not hesitate to criticize when I think he erred the same goes for Chief Obrien who hopefully soon will take some much needed action in regards to the chain of command.

No one can effectively dispute that news coverage these days is getting more and more focused on sensationalism. Blame it on the tabloids and reality tv, but people do seem to be developing an insatiable desire for gossip, and we are certainly being exploited for that weakness. After the recent apologies from Steve Schwaid, he turns around and allows airing of video showing a woman at her most painful and vulnerable moment, as they broke the news to her that her Dr. husb was a murderer. Yes Mr. Schwaid apologized. Again. (But his credibility is shot, in my book.) (If you don't want to publish this comment because of these remarks, then please just delete the parts you feel you must)
The point I want to make is that I witnessed Dir. Miller publicly address the situation regarding the death of Ann Bartlett, and his pain over the events was palpable, and I believe, sincere. If you can't say anything good about him, at least he IS one of you, and I get the feeling that he is doing his best. His job probably really sucks, and I don't think anyone could make a go of it and win a popularity contest, unless perhaps we can get rid of the CEO and all the current commissioners.

(Question: Shelia Edwards doesn't advise him, does she???)

Ok enough already. I keep reading the same recurring theme in blogs throughout most posts, which is "take some much needed action in regards to the chain of command" or "do something about the command staff". I see a lot of comments but no solutions. If you are so adamant that the command staff and/or chain of command is so bad then what is your solution? Why no suggestions or comments to the “Chief’s Counsel” or to the Director or Chief or better yet the CEO? What, cat got your tongue when it comes time to actually speak up instead of just complain? Oh is that crickets I hear? You complainers have no clue about what most of the staff (Sergeants on up) does on a regular basis and therefore cannot make any suggestions or statements regarding any changes you think should be made. Ignorance is no excuse my friends so put up or shut up. If you think it is better somewhere else then hit the road. If you have solutions then let’s hear them. The staff from the Sergeants to the Chiefs are doing the best they can with the very limited budget and tools they have. Stop whining and grow up because, if you’re not part of the solution then you’re part of the problem!

This is another example of the family/news media running with a story that is incorrect..LISTEN TO THE CALL..lady said nothing bout a stroke/eart attack..etc etc etc..she said I hurt my arm..At that time it was 3 higher priority calls house/business fires coming in at the same time.Adam Murphy at the end of his segment mentioned Mutual Aid....Dummy do your homework..there is no MA FOR AMBULANCES...Gwinnett sure as hell not coming into DeKalb to transport and DeKalb not going into Gwinnett because they are tied up.same w/ Apd,etc etc ect..Please get the facts first instead of trying to be the first one to ASK THE TOUGH..WRONG ASS QUESTIONS and running w/ a story..Im glad Director didnt talk to you..I hope they never talk to you 46 because you news channel is whack and your reporters are imcompetent..

Anon #10: I thought the whole point of this blog was to provide a safe place to 'let off steam'. I get your point, OK, but from an outsider, I surely also get the point that it hasn't been safe for a LONG TIME to speak up about ANYTHING that is the slightest bit controversial, or not in line with the 'regime'.
OK?
I can also tell you that in the private sector, voicing a disparate opinion gets you labeled as someone who is not a "team player".
Maybe you shouldn't read this blog any more. Whatever. Let em have their say.

Mr. Knowitall

To all you Wizard haters, get the story straight before jumping to conclusions. It's not a tough question. The news reporter was just pissed off that he did not get his little story. Some of you folks need a sedative before leaving your comment.
