A woman was struck and killed by a DeKalb County patrol car Friday morning,
Investigators said the officer was traveling on Covington Highway near Wesley Chapel Road when the pedestrian walked out into the street.
A DeKalb police representative said the officer couldn't stop in time and struck the woman.
Officials said the officer was not on the way to a scene and didn't have lights and sirens activated.
