If the store owner didnt to want aid in in the investigation of robbers that were probably casing his store because he is tired, i would simply tell him that i have a right to seize any property that is evidence of a crime and i will be taking his entire surveillance system and he can get it back when trial is over.

ur gonna seize his personal property....this isn't a Stalinistic country you dumbass...nor are we the Nazi SS Police....u can't take someones property just because you think it can solve your case....it belongs to him..not the state or the county...this is the problem we're facing in this country right now....abuse of gov't...over stepping their authority......Have you ever heard of the US Constitution dumba$$.....

I am not condoning what the officers did, but I can understand their frustration. One of the employees was just robbed at gunpoint, there'a potentially armed and dangerous fugitive on the loose, but this store owner can't be bothered to come and check on his employee and help the cops apprehend this scum bag as quickly as possible?

Here we go - the blue line of silence will keep the comment volume down. Too bad that all police encounters aren't caught on tape and shown on the nightly news. If they were, then the police would be hiding their badges and looking for other work.

He didn't say he wouldn't come help he just said give him a few minutes. He is helping them. The POLICE want the CITIZENS help. It didn't happene at his store, they just believe HIS cameras caught what happened. POLICE can't have EVERYTHING go THEIR WAY. And how many officers does is take to go and get a friggin tape anyway?

From a cop/detective,

The officers were dead wrong in the way they handled that. He is a legitimate businessman within the county, treat him with respect. If he did not want to come in quick enough, write up a search warrant to seize the computer and if the judge signs it great, if not move on to other avenues of the investigation. I am all for putting a boot in an ass if needed, but this was wrong. And if I can add, the officers involved need to lose weight, come on respect yourself and the uniform! Should be able to fire bowling balls like that, but I'm old school. Stay safe alert there are bad people out there.

People can't stand us because too many of us... think they are above the law and are something special. Too many officers, and their supervisors, think a badge is a ticket to do WHATEVER they want to do. "Oh...I'm one of you."

They've lost sight of the old adage, "we do things better because we represent DKPD,we're professionals and because we've taken an oath."

Whatever happened to holding ourselves to a higher standard than we hold the citizens we protect?

We have lost our sense of pride and our direction.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I took an oath and I mean to keep it. I'm not above the laws I took and oath to uphold.

Somehow I lost sight of the fact that we're above the law and that we have no standards....they made that clear when they reassigned me at my precinct.

Gah. They invade his store, perform criminal trespass (No we're not getting out, we're taking over your store), arrest him under false charges, lie on the criminal arrest statements and all because they have some poor sense and lack patience. And on top of all of that the rude and crude behavior.

Sad.
