Speaking of Stupid Is As Stupid Does....

By popular demand, here is the famous YouTube video of U.S. Representative Hank Johnson (D), 4th District of Georgia, meaning DeKalb County, making his constituents proud!

I don't know how that Admiral or anyone behind him had the professionalism not to bust the hell out laughing at this moron. But please don't replace him with Jones.

You guys remember his wife, don't you? The "esteemed" Mag Ct Judge Marinda Davies Johnson? A real brain trust in that household-

Hey Hank, the highly technical term your were so laboring and searching for to describe the dimensions of Guam are width and wide. Dekalb sure can pick 'em .

WTF in H*ll is he talkin about....like he's LOST

At first I thought this was a skit from Saturday Night Live, until I saw no one laughing... Are you serious "the least widest" is that a word? I would think he would have prepared his questions before asking a General... I find it disturbing that he can't put a sentence together, scratching his neck, hands over his mouth...dang I have a better time understanding a crack head trying to talk his way out of going to jail.
Do me a favor and put Keisha Williams "but its friday" on again. I'm going to make a song out of that.

Jamie Dupree who does the Washington Insider report for Neal Boortz said the other day that Hank is suffering from Hepatitis C. He commented that the disease is taking its toll and that he thought that might be the reason that Hank either made a crazy statement or he wasn't able to make a point by saying something off the wall in a funny way to make light of what Hank considers a serious situation.

Either way....why does it not surprise me that he represents Dekalb.

From a Newsweek blog:

Well just damn, just when I though another great Dekalb County represenitive couldnt say anything as stupid as Kiesha.
Its obvious to Ethel and I that the "Least Widest" part of Hanks body would be that knot that lies between his ears.
Hank, you my sir are a damn fine idiot so ridle me this.
If you have an ear of corn, combined with a tube of steak, divided by 3 sheets in the wind.
Then take the multiples of 23, rounded off to the nearest decimal point, then subtracted by the point of no return what'a have?.
I am willing to bet that you my dumb ass friend will somehow find an answer.
Someone needs a bitch slap im thinking.
I honestly didnt think anyone could top Flim Flam Flimister with recording himself but you just did.
Now I also am willing to bet that the great Dekalb citizens completely understood what he was trying to say thanks to urbanistic ebonics.
I myself have tried for years and years to understand this strange foreign language myself but thusfar have been unsucessful.
Although I have become pretty good at understanding "What had happened was".
But look Ethels not angry at Hank. It's hard to be angry when you expect this type of behavior, she always says set your goals low that way you dont have to aim high.
Now then happy easter to all and to all a good nite, leave us be maggots.

I am willing to give Johnson a break on this one, no one could be that stupid.
"In an interview with Channel 2 Action News, the Decatur Democrat said he was kidding and simply speaking metaphorically to make a point during the committee hearing.
Johnson said "I can say things that are quite humorous and not smile about it and it leads people to think about what I said.""
Its obvious in the video that the admiral understands what Johnson's point was, overcrowding and possible damage to Guam's environment.
The problem is that Johnson is on an Armed Forces oversight committee concerned with national security and the safety of our military personnel. It would appear that Johnson is more concerned about possible damage to the environment of Guam and global warming than in safeguarding American interests. It is obvious Johnson is not qualified for his position on the armed services committee.
Johnson appears to be typical of DeKalb's leadership. With a population of 800 thousand, DeKalb government is in the big leagues but our leadership is still playing T-ball.

Are we really supposed to believe Johnson had the presence of mind to speak "metaphorically," but he couldn't remember "big S.A.T. words" like "narrowest?"

Most likely metaphorically speaking " He is the dumbest SOB I have ever heard". To quote an excellent officer's prayer at the end of roll call "Lord Help US".
