Calls to the Rockdale Sheriff’s department were not immediately returned.
The deputy was taken to an area hospital where he died.

Breaking News: Rockdale County Deputy Shot And Killed
A sheriff's deputy has been shot and killed in Rockdale County, according to WSB-TV.The deputy was shot near the intersection of Ga. 20 and Honey Creek Road, SE Saturday afternoon, authorities told WSB-TV.
