Finally, A Psychic For Director of Public Safety

William "The Wizard" Miller "sensed" CEO Ellis was in danger.

Wiz also said: “There has never been a lack of police presence anywhere due to the security around the CEO’s home,” Miller said. But where does he get the extra body from?

We guess math was not on Burrell's Director of Public Safety application.

“There has never been a lack of police presence anywhere due to the security around the CEO’s home,” Miller said.

Ok Wiz are you that stupid or do you think all DeKalb residents are stupid? If you take someone off patrol and put them at Mr. CEO's and do not add an extra officer to the watch to replace them some area is getting less coverage. But I guess you can “sense” what areas need protection and which don’t.

Its like a mini precinct at the new office of the CEO. The officers on motorcycles come and go every day.I watch from my office window. I do feel safer with their presence in the area.

Little Vernon has more officers watching him than Vernon ever had.

It will never end everybody wants to lead the police department.

How much is it costing to watch him.

What we really need is more specialize units in the police department. Every day they create a new unit. Just wasting money and manpower. The police department needs to have an audit. That would really expose the waste in the department.

Okay, Miller is a dummy! I am convinced. I'm on my way to my doctor to have my smile removed. It makes me sooooo happy to know that there will always be a stupid ass out there making statements like, "there as never been a lack.......".

Oh, citizens should be outraged, CEO's life is more important than yours. They take the officer out of your neighborhood, and put him/her in front of his house for 10 hours. Smile dumb citizen while the man you elected takes your protection.

To make things even worse they are taking two veteran officers from each watch and making them "ceo detail officers". They will do nothing but that. Hell. Might as well start calling them Dekalb county security officers instead of police officers. This is rediculous.

Chief Moody once again you look like a hero. Either Director Miller is lying or instead of a Director he is a psycho excuse me a psychic.

The article isnt accurate. We still have 1 officer there 24-7. Now they want 2 officers per shift, with a different set of off-days, to be permantly assigned to this detail. Who in the hell wants to sit there on all of their work days for their entire shift? The officers hate this detail. It shouldve been rotated every 5 hours anyway. Who comes up with these brilliant ideas. 'Leadership from the top!'

Why not hire a security firm and pay them $7.50 hr to sit in front of his house? If anything should happen they can call the police like any apartment complex does, this guy (Miller) is an idiot, Ellis is a dummy who wants to sit there all day? When he goes to work, is an officer still sitting there?

This is the county at its best. I guess money is no object when its a taxpayer paying.

What about domestics when the wife is scare her current or ex-will come back and harm her.

Looks like we are going to need a lot more people on these details.

I am staying the HELL out of Dekalb County until I feel it's safe to be there again.
Ellis you jerk - taking VETERAN officers off the street over THIS??? You are no better than Vermin, you disgust me.

Ok. This is stupid and all know is coming out of Tucker Precinct. If the blog remembers months ago the officers at Tucker were complaining about supervisors wanting them to be more discipline and more productive in patrolling their beats. They blogged and advised that top levels wanted quotos. Now they dont want to sit on a protection detail. Major Fore advise us what they want up there, so the citizens will know. I will give you a start. It begins with Lts and Sgts. who are having serious relationships with officers and not giving positive guidance to the troops. Someone up there get a handle on these lazy people who choose to use the blog in assiting them with their personal agendas. Lets tell the citizens the real story. Wiz keep up the good work.

To the dummy that thinks this all is coming from Tucker. No, it's not you idiot. It's coming from Wiz. Let me break that down for you : Wiz is the director of public safety. He is the one that wants us sitting there. Stay on the subject and stop rambling.

Why does Dekalb use the title CEO for their County Manager position? I am a former Fulton County Police Officer. Our county manager was called, The County Manager. I worked there for about 6 years and rarely heard about the county manager and never actually saw the county manager. He never seemed to make any waves, just did his job, bad job or good, I couldn't tell. I saw and heard more stupid crap from some of our county commissioners, especially ones that had stupid little nick names for themselves and used the County Police helicopter as their personal limousine service.

DeKalb doesnt have a County Manger form of government. We have an elected Chief Executive and in his office he has a Chief Operating Officer. Under Vernon it was a Executive Assistant. That person really "runs" the County so to speak, but they answer only to the Chief Executive, not to the Commissioners, so you have power and authority struggles. The CEO has authority over some aspects of the County management, the Commissioners over over others, the other elected officials (Constitutional officers) like the District Attorney and the Sheriff and the School Board, Judges, each have their own power and authority as well, they do not have to answer to the CEO or the BOC, BUT, their budgets are partly controlled by them.
