While we are being forced to work for no pay, the commissioners are erecting shrines, such as this one at the entrance to DeKalb Peachtree Airport to feed their elitist egos.
We have now worked 3 days this year without being paid. How many days has the commissioners not been paid?

I'm just shocked that it's not 24K engraved with rubies outlining Ellis' name. "Lil Vernon" certainly does think highly of himself.
Well looks like the CEO wasn't worry about the cost when this was created.
Money is never an issue when its taxpayer money.
Well how much is he saving in car and fuel expenses , plus drivers at his beckon call? Another taxpayer expense.

Don't forget the Tom Scott/Claudia Lawson sign at the tax commissioners office. Tom started it, and Claudia continued the tradition.
I wish someone would present a state law prohibiting any names of the political office holders being placed on signage. DeKalb and Georgia politicians blatantly have twisted the signs into free political advertising and name recognition at tax-payer expense.
As for a change of leadership in DeKalb BOC. Three commissioners are up for reelection and two out of three are unopposed so at the very best the very best you will have one new commissioner and they will be a democrat. http://www.ajc.com/news/dekalb/county-level-races-in-560647.html
DeKalb citizens must become engaged in county government and offer new candidates with new ideas if they ever hope to change the dysfunctional BOC and school system. Under the present conditions, expect more of the same for the next 5-10 years.....
Some of you complaining about the BOC are the same ones who voted for big government Obama. If you are a DeKalb voter, you won't vote any differently than you did in 2008. Welcome to the era of big government. You can't have it both ways. You can't vote for hope and change and expect to have lower taxes and less government. Just wait until our "Cadillac" insurance is taxed as income. Or better yet, wait for the County to reduce their insurance contribution because the cost has become to high. Unless things chain in Nov we will be screwed for many more years.
