County Renews Contract With VisionAir

The commissioners voted to approve $573,810.64, an increase of $499,228.00, to VisionAir, Inc for continued maintenance services for Mobile Laptop Dispatch/Police Reporting System.

In all honesty, the commissioners don't have a clue how VisionAir (and it seems we don't either) works, or should work. They relay on input from the mysterious Director of Public Safety, Wiz Miller.

Again, where was Ol' Wiz during the "work for no pay" crisis? Do we still have a Public Safety Director? Will it take another police officer getting shot before Wiz magically appears?

Visionair is NOT the current CAD vendor. They are the FBR and records mgmt system and old mobile software vendor.

right, the current CAD vendor is Interact....and it would work right IF certain folks that put it in didn't cut corners and cut out some vital parts to save money....

You get what you pay for....

Don't you mean InterAct? Unless I'm confused, VisionAir was the predecessor that I thought worked very well, or well enough, and allowed me to do a lot of things autonomously without having to rely on radio doing so much. And I am sure all radio operators would agree.

Sorry guys, that's what we get for letting our 12 year sister update the blog.

Keep up the good fight!

No matter how you slice it, the system sucks.
Oh how I remember the old MDT's, they worked so damn well.
You could get mad and beat em with you batons, slap em, spit on em. and they still worked better than what we have now.
Hell and they were analog. Supervisors knew where you where at all times. Officers could pull up group status and see where there partner was, it really was a better system.
And god help you when you received a priorty one call, you knew it was a coming.
