Finally......a post that will bring smiles to DKPD's faces...cross your fingersn hope a real PROSECUTOR takes up the reigns & puts a whip to the horses!
[This is a metaphor-used to illustrate the s-l-o-w prosecutorial wagon in DeKalb. No horses were injured in this story, I promise]

And just when you thought there would never be any light at the end of the tunnel! But brother! can you imagine this, uh, let's just refer to her as an incompetent slacker, person holding such a responsible government position w/an appointment by O'Bama? As if our government wasn't bad enough. But hey..let's look on the brighter side--maybe she will find a position for Ellis and that would be two birds with one stone. Now it's a waiting game to see who takes her place. We desperately need a break where the D.A's office is concerned and hopefully this time whomever fills the position will get serious about prosecuting the multitude of perps arrested by our hard-working officers. I know this is a stretch but it's time to get someone back in the D.A.'s seat that has a little class and truly cares about prosecuting the bad guys and respecting those officers who risk their lives day in and day out trying to make the streets of DeKalb not only a safer place to be but a county that you are not ashamed to tell people you live in. All of you officers are so greatly appreciated here in our county....after all, what would we do without you? I, for one, hope and pray that day never comes .

I hope the next DA is elected based on qualifications.

I wonder how much $$$ the County is going to give her especially since she RESIGNED!

Thanks God she's gone, but now she get to go screw up the EPA??

Good phuque-ing riddance!!! Hopefully, the Chosen One is a one-term wonder, which means that Keyes will be on the street before long. Maybe the next DA will be more pro-police and pro-victim...but I doubt it. As long as the DA is elected, and we keep locking up voters, the DA will never be pro-police...no job security.

If the CEO has a say, he will elect Wiz to fill in as the acting DA

Anonymous said...

CEO doesn't have a say. Doesn't the governor appoint DA? If I remember correctly isn't that what happened when J Tom left?

Somebody please give the DA job to Wiz Miller so PD can be rid of him and he can take all his croanies with him. Abolish the Director position and let O'Brien run the PD. Citizens should demand it, look at the money the county could save. By the way Wiz, looks like some of your commad staff is working out at Arabia mtn park in the mornings while on duty I suppose, since they are driving their black crown vics. Surely they wouldnt be drving them if they were not on duty.

Wiz as the D.A. would be a sweet move. He could be pro DKPD without being in the way like he is now.

Idiots, the governor will put an interim in until a special election can be done. If Wiz wants the position, he has to run for it.

The CEO doesn't have any say on who gets the position, otherwise it would give him way to much power if he had a choice in the matter.

Gwen is leaving? Oh no! Who will fail to prosecute our career criminals now? Who will nolle prosse and dead docket cases of repeat offenders? Who will let cases sit around for years before bringing them to trial?

DeKalb citizens, this is your chance to help fix the county. You have the choice of voting in another incompetent DA based upon race and politics (like you did with Keyes) or you can vote for best candidate to prosecute crime and corruption within DeKalb.

To any DeKalb lawyer who has a clean record, is competent, experienced, wants to prosecute criminals and root out the blatant ethical violations by Dekalb elected officials. DeKalb citizens desperately need your help. Step up and throw your hat in the ring!

Best of luck mates!

Perdue gets to appoint a DA to fill the vacancy.

Purdue will appoint someone 100 times more competent than Keyes, but I am sure their complexion will prevent them from being elected to the job.
