More on Robert James, D.A. Candidate

Let's hope he is the real deal. This would be refreshing.

By all accounts, James is a good guy. He seems to be concerned with prosecuting criminals and doesn't worry about BS. He also doesn't seem to be too caught up in the race game. I hope it all works out for him (and us).

Didn't we think Burrell was the real deal once too?

I have never met Solicitor General James and really didn't have much interaction with the Solicitors office over my last four years. That indicates to me that the SO had their shit together under James, for whatever its worth. I spent ten times more time with Gwen Keyes DA office with the constant moves and expansion under Gwen.

Way OT, but I know all of you will get a kick out of this, ReasonTV, a well known and generally conservative blog has awarded DeKalb's very own CEO Burrell Elliss as "Nanny of the month". here's the link;

And on a personal note, after getting back from a great camping trip over the weekend I find the county did not deposit my monthly retirement into my bank account. Found out the county did this to the entire new retiree group, and I found a check in my mailbox. This would of been damn serious to those living week to week on their paycheck. I think most of the retirees have a sufficient financial reserve that the effect is negligible, still this should never have occurred and I suspect one of my overworked co-workers at IT or Payroll had a hand in the issue.

The very best of luck guys! KenC

I don't know much about this guy and have never interacted with him personally, but I'm kind of disconcerted about all the hug a thug stuff on his personal campaign page. Personally I'm tired of seeing the same people on the streets due to plea bargains, light sentences, low bonds, etc. I'd personally love to see a hardliner in our DA's office, someone who will make our efforts actually seem worthwhile. The smoke and mirrors and empty talking heads have gotten really old here.

Simple solution would be for the AJC to do their job and check on the job James did as an ADA and then Solicitor. His record as an ADA is more important to me than how he's done as a solictor. The big question is will we finally get a DA that might personally take some big cases to trial? I don't recall Gwen ever actually taking a case. Alot of the other county DA's do why can't DeKalb's?

What ever happened to Keith Adams? I always thought he wanted the job.

Robert James seems to be a damn good guy. He actually likes cops and doesn’t think he is too good to talk to cops. I have had some dealings with the guy and he seems to be as fed up with criminals in this county as most of us are.

Of course we have been fooled plenty of times before but all you can do is look at the guy and make the best judgment you can. Like the BLOG said, it would be refreshing to actually get a decent guy in a position of leadership in this county.

Robert James did personally take some cases to trial as the Solicitor-General. I respect that for what it is worth.

I heard that same line when Burrell was running for CEO!

Where did you hear Burrell liked cops? He's always hated us because we were an extension of Vernon Jones in his eyes.

Bizarre candidacy for DeKalb DA

Pay witness to Constance Pinson Heard, your candidate for District Attorney of DeKalb County. Heard, whose private practice only focuses 20% of its time on criminal law, has previously suffered from depression. And she’s been suspended from the practice of law. Twice. Plus, she mysteriously and bizarrely wants the electorate to know that her “family is not all black.” Let’s learn more, shall we?

This is evidently what passes for competency to seek elected office in DeKalb County these days!

Keith Adams is a defense attorney now. His clients must not have a lot of faith in him, because many of them fail to show up to court and skip out on their bond. Former Deputy Yancey is probably the most notable client he has that did that.

Hey thanks for that link. Now I'm CERTAIN Pete Randall is an insensitive idiot. Although I AM leaning toward Mr. James, as I think he is more qualified, it is despicably LOW to hold it against someone because they have suffered from 'depression', and presume one has nothing to offer if they've had this affliction. JC dude - who the hell DOESN'T at one time or another, especially NOW??? Makes me R E A L curious about what's in YOUR background that you would like to hide. We ALL have something, don't we?
PS - Please stay off peachpundit. You are damaging the integrity of the blog.

by the way - those comments were directed at pete randall - not the person who posted the 12:08 comment.

I would take a look at James' record on diversion cases before I cast him as too friendly to Public Safety. How many criminals have been Let go at the misdemeanor level who later moved on to felonies?

He may be the only choice. But let's make sure we have a strong voice when it comes to getting criminals off the street.

First what is your difinition of "The Real Deal".This is not happening in dekalb county! The DA's office need to be cleaned out.If you want to continue the Gwen Keys Fleming-Vernon Jones,The "Do-Nothing"-"Cover-UP Administration. You will elect Robert James, and to prove what I'am saying is correct,is it not true sheriff Thomas Brown called over on Bishop Eddie Long behalf and had a case pulled!Who's the judge? now I understand clearly how Sharon Sutton's could have 4 warrants and the statute of liminations was allowed to run out.Was this the same judge? that Thomas Brown used for Bishop Eddie Long. How many criminals have this district attorney office allowed to walk. This sounds like the good old boys network to me.

Robert James is bias with cases towards women, hence his websites geared towards domestic violence. I think his court room is a circus allowing the jury to consult with the lobby. How do throw the book at young adults with life sentences who haven't got a chance to see life. Especially cases with no evidence and believe that there is no reasonable doubt whatsoever. I'm sorry to say that this is what Justice is...

It's also funny how my comments can't be seen without the owner's approval. Robert James, stand up behind your name and our constitution!!!
