I bet there were not 11 members of the US military shot in Afghanistan in the last 24 hours. Kind of puts into perspective what a violent country this really is. And police officers are expected to stand in the middle of the violence and make a difference. Tough job.

Is this really a suprise? Not just the Dekalb County Gov't but in many others the judicial system has become a Liberal pony show. Do we really need to be politically correct? I mean what did the perp say...thats right fuck the police. So I say right back at him, Mr.Perp does not need to be out on the streets not only putting the Police in danger but also the public. We need to act and pass a bill stating that if any Law Enforcement officer on the State or Federal level is injured/killed during the time employed, not just on duty by a suspect/perp they will do mandatory time with no chance of receiving good behavior or early time out. If an officer is killed mandatory death penalty, we have it here might as well use it. Use 10-0 people this county is gonna 2nd gues everything you do, its not like the old days when our employers supported us. CYA

You should read the blog comments after this story on MSN.com. The vast majority were horrid and anti-police. It is truly sad what our society has devolved into.

JUDGED BY 12, BEFORE I'M CARRIED BY 6..That's my rule of thumb..Point a gun at me you better hit me with the first shot..Cause I'm going to do my best to KILL YOUR SORRY ASS! The hell with the Judicial System it sucks..I'm gonna be your Judge, Jury and Executioner....If you wear a badge and feel any different you better find another line of work...If your a citizen reading this and think it's harsh and not politically correct..THEN YOU'RE THE PROBLEM WITH OUR SYSTEM..CAUSE YOU ARE OUR JURY POOL...Sorry if I offended anyone..NOT! Not signing my name to this either. Cause if I do hafta kill a perp, don't want his sorry ass attorney using it against me in court...Stay safe brother and sisters in blue...

In Forsyth County, a man pointed a shotgun at a deputy. However, the prosecutor did not contest the defendant's request for bond, and now he's out of jail:

I found a very disturbing video of the Detroit precinct attack that left four officer wounded. (http://www.freep.com/article/20110128/NEWS01/110128050/Detroit-police-chief-explains-why-he-released-video)
I always thought the metal detectors at the central precinct were a little overboard. After watching this video I have changed my opinion and I am glad I kept my mouth shut on this issue. I was wrong. Just because y'all carry guns and wear vests does not prevent a maniac from attacking you on your home turf.
My hats off to the cops that went toe to toe with this maniac who was armed with a shotgun and took him down.
I read today that a DeKalb mother took her child and friends out of school to rob a bank in Lilburn.
Insanity! If a DeKalb mother will do this then what does that say for the morality of DeKalb citizen's in general?
I was in a small town 10 years ago talking with a citizen. He said "We have two kinds of folks here, those that go to church and those that go to jail." I think DeKalb citizen's need to take a long hard look at themselves and decide what kind of person they want to before they make these kind of stupid decisions that get people killed and get themselves put in jail.

Y'all be damned careful out there. Best of luck, guys!
