Once Again, Risk Managemet Drops The Ball

Just as they dropped the ball when we were forced to change health insurance carriers, Risk Management has done it again. While increased premiums are being deducted from our pay checks, the premiums are not being forwarded to the insurance companies, resulting in some having their coverage dropped.

My sarge mentioned it in roll call.

I checked...and....

Yes, I've been told my insurance lapsed on 12/31 and that I have no health insurance..... my check was also larger than it should have been, so I guess I should be happy that they weren't deducting money for NOTHING!...

Nothing...pretty much what our insurance has become.... our insurance is NOT health insurance but Catastrophic Health Insurance...don't call us unless you're diagnosed with Cancer or admitted to the hospital.

I was told by the company I signed up with at Open Enrollment that "your company seems to be having a lot of problems with people not showing up"...... when I called the county, I was told that a county-wide email would be coming out in short order.... No insurance and No email with an explanation.

We should all band together under the FOP or some other umbrella and get insurance as a group... Just a thought.

I wonder if Johns Creek or Dunwoody are having the same problems.

Remember, they're new departments and cities that probably don't have anywhere near the staff that Dekalb has to take care of the "little things". Why would anyone want to take a chance on either...they're going to crumble and go away..NOT!

My coverage was dropped. Nobody really knew why. Good job guys.

So, what's new?? Why should a dept of Dekalb County think about doing something right. After all, it isn't their money! Why would they care if employee John Doe loses his healthcare if some dingbat in Risk Management is so stupid, they wouldn't know where to turn?

What makes Risk Management to be any different from the BOC? Afterall, it is many peas in the same pod.

You employees, should know better by now, that supidity runs rampard in the county from those who make viable decisions.

Maybe one of these days, a republican form of government will come into existence and far greater change will ensue. Until then, just keep on paying insurance and high taxes, and nogt get any rewards for your troubles.
Period !!!

This Blog needs to investigate. We are told if we miss open enrolement we will lose coverage. We do our part but they can never seem to get there part done right. Last year my coverage was messed up as well. These idots took 200 out of my check but I have no coverage. Im told to stop calling that they are working on it. Today is Jan 18 how much time do these idots really need. Please us all your conections with the media to bring attention to this problem. With media attention they might get it done.

Is someone working on the problem? Do I need to call risk management or my insurance company?

WARNING: Look at Camden PD today. They laid off almost half of PD and Fire services because they could not fail to pay the retirees pension by law and had to cut expenses via layoffs. This is next for Dekalb as well BELIEVE me. Taxes from car washes and wing shacks cannot support Dekalb's budget. If you are vested I suggest you freeze it now before YOU suffer the same fate.

January's check came with a deduction for insurance premium but Cigna said I was not covered. After making daily phone calls, finally got a return call. I was told the data didn't download to the insurance company as it should have. Finally got my insurance card today !! Still haven't received drug, dental or vision cards. Went through the same mess with it last year !

I guess we shouldnt expect much from the quality personal staff, I bet they have insurance though.

I called risk management two weeks ago...was told there was only 2 people to enter info for over 8,000 employees. I finally got my cards but one of my kids got left off my plan...now I cannot get through to risk management..

Question? ....are they doing this to push us to our spouse's plan. ........or to make Obamacare's government option the only option?

I used to feel sorry for us. Then I realized that there are better places and employers out there. You know what I did? I freaking quit and got a new job that almost doubled my take home!

There are better places out there people. Cut bait and walk.......it ain't getting better and it will most definitely get worse. Have some self respect and man-up (or woman-up) and go somewhere you'll be appreciated. Otherwise, keep bending over and smiling like a doughnut.

Dekalb is a "has been".

Hey did anyone fill out that customer service survey that Personnel sent out last week? That is our chance to blast those friggin idiots..Janet Anderson sent it out and personnel reports to her. I say we all give them their just desserts and let them know what we think of their continued inept incompetence..I know it won't change anything, but hell, venting will make us feel a lil better!!

Did anyone get insurance cards and still find they didn't have insurance? This is the first I'm hearing of it, but fortunately I haven't had to use my insurance this year.

No communication from the county, but the office manager at my doctor's office found that I am NOW showing coverage with Cigna.

Guess the county will let us know something next month.
