Did You Vote?

We hope everyone who wanted to vote for pension rep, got to. The county attached voting certificates to our pay stubs a few weeks back.

As we were voting, we saw that several people had forgotten or misplaced their certificate and were turned away from voting, even after producing valid state and county I.D.

Kinda strict rules huh? Even in national elections people are not required to have a certificate and in some cases even a valid I.D.

Makes you wonder........

Has it occurred to anyone that the certificate that was being requested was possibly illegal for the vote? It had the wrong date on it? Everyone should have been able to vote with or without it.

Nope I was in a county uniform, with a county issued id card, and my drivers license to even prove who I was, and was still turned away.
So FUCK OFF county!

Myself and 4 other retired officers were turned away. They said we needed a ballot card.We never received one in the mail..Guess its OBAMA politics as usual....

I am another retired officer....I didn't get a ballot card in the mail, either. I got news fer ya- THE FIX IS IN, ONCE AGAIN!

I never received a ballot either. I guess that tells you all you need to know. Business as usual in DeKalb County.

I did not receive anything in the mail either. What gives?

I received and envelope from the county with NO absentee ballot in it!

What is going on?!

Are retirees eligible to vote for the employee representative? Don't the retirees have their own rep on the board?

The "voting cards" are the county's cheap ass way to make sure people don't vote multiple times at different locations. You'd think in 2011 we'd have a better method.

I bet the employees and retirees who were going to vote for the politically correct candidate got thier ballot card either in the mail or hand delivered.
I never received anything in the mail either. What a crock.
Election rigging of a pension board....a new low. Isnt that a federal crime?

Dekalb is a 3rd world banana republic now. What else did you expect...

What a waste of a career to work in this place.

The helpers at the voting site do not how to speak English or any other language other than stupid.
This is why a lot of you could not cast your votes. Not many people I know, know how to communicate in stupid because we are all intelligent. Thats the problem.

Maybe if the buttons were in colors, it would have made a difference.

Question for any of you Legal Eagles out there-

Is there any criminal or civil/administrative violation we can hammer the County on, since it appears on first glance that few to no retirees seem to have gotten ballots in the mail, officers were turned away at the voting sites, etc. If so, the County needs to be hung out to dry! This stinks all the way around

I did not get a ballot card either. (retired)

On the subject of pensions.. Did anyone else notice a 400% increase on the federal taxes taken out of the Feb check compared to the January check? January had $8.89 taken out and February had $41.39 taken out... If you try to call the pension office their mailbox is full and the recorded message states tax rates have changed... I find it difficult to believe it changed that much and if it did it should have been on January's as well and not just February.....

It is the racist comments like yours that gives all police officers a bad rap.
I am sure your attitude carries over to the real world when you are not spewing your venom in this blog.
Where in your enlightened mind do yu draw the line? Lets go after all the WOPS, KIKES, MICKS,SPICS, GEASEBALLS,

Why can't we get this blog back to a productive vent rather then what it has become

To: Anon 2/3/2011, 9:34 am - what ethnic group does the term "geaseball" refer to?
Regarding the bigger picture - both my husband & myself are retired from DeKalb and neither of us received a ballot through the mail, e-mail, or vulcan mind-meld. While the individuals at the Voter Registration probably were just following orders (they might be "geaseballs"), the county should be held accountable for not allowing us to vote without this ticket - that appears to have gone out to precious few of us. Yes, until that issue is addressed, my guess is that the results are suspect. Does anyone know what sort of cuisine "geaseballs" eat? I think I might have gone to one of their restaurants...

You are correct- my pension check also showed that my federal deduction almost quadrupled.

To anon 11:23, lose the chip off your shoulder, please! Nowhere in that post was any race ever mentioned. He was referring to people whom can only communicate in "stupid", and your post proved his point.
