The Department of Voters Registration has certified the results of the Pension Board Election. The new Pension Board Members are:
* Thomas Brown -Sheriff's Office
* Anthony McBride - Sanitation
One is embedded in county politics, and the other can't write.
Pretty much speaks for itself.

I think we need to look at challenging this election. Too many people were not given their ballots for it to be a legitimate vote.
OH HELL, Maybe I should have chose the Lump Sum Option!!! Now the CEO has a buddy in place.
Great!
Who will fill the Retiree position???
Well just damn Ethel!
Anthony needs to buy a book in basic economics and finance. Every employee has doubled their contribution with no increase in benefit. Our return on investment is essentially cut in half! Furthermore getting the money we put in with interest back? It's not a savings bond you fool. It is employee investment with employer contribution into a fund that is supposed to accumulate its assets by the reinvestment of profits, interest and dividends and its supposed to pay out an employee a guaranteed monthly payout at retirement for the rest of his life.
Of course I am just a dumb cop and you are the former CEO of candler rd mtg. what do I know.
I am retired and never got a ballot. Looks like we ned Channel 46 to ask some questions.
Read it again it's Anthony "McBride" not "Berry"
I know this is a joke. Looks like I will never get my pension now. Who voted for them? This was a bogus election. When have you ever needed a piece of paper along with your id to vote. An outside agency needs to investigate this election. I don't know why I keep putting my trust in this county. Everytime when you think its going to be a fair outcome, some bs happens. How many sanitation workers voted. Hell they cant even vote in a state or federal election. This is some bs.......
My husband and myself never got a ballot and we are retired too? You didn't want us retirees to know?
Didn't anyone tell you that the ballots have to be purchased? Not by money, but involves friendship.
The more friends one has, the more ballots. Its the old bartering system. "Lets trade"
This ain't nothin new in the world of vote getting, so why should it change now?
Hmmm..anyone ever wonder what exactly happened to all of that money that was found in a shoebox (I think that was the place)in a closet at the sheriff's dept. after Brown took office? Was quite a bit of money. Just asking.
Isn't this an issue that should be taken to the attorney general's office for possible investigation? or is the D.A.'s office the first step? Seems like it's worth a shot. Don't see anything on here yet from the head of the FOP. So what's your take on all of this Sgt. Wiggs? We're waiting.
This is Obama/Chicago-style politics at its finest. I'm a retiree and I didnt get a ballot, either. Where's the Media and the GBI?
I didn.t get any pension ballot information at all, What a friggin mess.... this dam place..Even more reason to keep an eye on these dirt bags.
Current employee.......no election ballot received.....WTF!?!?
There is no way either one of these elected representives won this election! There needs to be a re-count immediately. I know for a fact, I didn't vote for either!
I can see Thomas Brown winning! That was not going to be a "NO," brainer!
A guy from sanitation? Really?!!!
This is why I "HATE" politics. There is no room for it in our line of business.
Thomas Brown threatened to suspend about 200 employees. There was a voting location within walking distance of the jail. You do the math.
Why couldn't we vote at our precincts? Why did we have to drive half way across the county to vote?
Sorry Joe, your just to light skinned.. eventually DeKalb just like America will learn its lesson by voting based on color instead of worthyness. Just Sayin...
You'll take it and like it..or just leave if you don't like it. It's the Dekalb County way.
The person who represents the retirees on the Pension Board is Robbie Robertson. His position is not up for election for about another 2 years. This Pension Board election was for the 2 people who will represent the active employees. The previous 2 people on the board took the early retirement so they can not represent the active employees anymore. Those of You that are able should come to the Pension Board Meetings which are held every other month. The next one is planned for the first Thursday in March. Double check with Employee Relations because sometimes they have to change the date. No employees ever come to the meeting. But, You should start coming.
