East precinct this afternoon, no units available for call. Why can't these SOD units run some damn calls and forget their ticket quotas for a while. Oh, forgot don't make the quota might lose the perks. Just saying.

Anon May 25, 2011 6:09 PM,

Please don't blame SOD because calls are pending. SOD has plenty of responsibility as it is. Yes, SOD is a support division and supports uniform when requested. And there are occasions when they jump uniform's calls. So, don't hate on SOD. Hate on the BOC and CEO who have put this department in this mess in the first place.

Just relax and handle one call at a time. Concentrate on doing quality work rather than quantity. Investigate your calls, make good arrests, and write good quality reports that increase your chance of not having to go to court, probably on your own time, and without the possibility of overtime. If the BOC and CEO take heat for calls pending, then let them explain to the crying taxpayer or other citizen that the reason why there is such a shortage of officers to handle the quantity of work is because they 1) won't get their act together and cut non-essential services and reallocate funds for the essential ones, 2) giving massive raises and serverance pay packages to themselves and their staffs while 3) feeding their faces on the taxpayers' and employees' dime on COUNTY TIME!

Just saying...

I agree with 6:09 Relax rookie one call at a time. This job will still be here long after you quit or retire and the same ole people will be calling police for the same reason. Take a chill pill. And don't get mad cause I call you rookie. But if you were a vet, you wouldn't be on edge >
