Atlanta PD Rolls Out State-Of-The-Art Police Cars

Atlanta PD rolls out state-of-the-art police cars while we push ours to the side of the road.

Where are our new cars anyway?

This is not state of the art, most surrounding agencies have cameras in their cars....just another tool the blog master is using to conduct his puppet show.....cameras are not always a good thing

Blogmaster AKA Bitchmaster,
They are driving old cars with cameras, not new cars. I understand you are running out of ideas but state the facts.

Speaking of cars, whatever happened with DKPD rolling out a number new, black units?... I have officers doubling up everyday.

They're not getting new cars, just putting cameras in the ones they already have. Will the cameras be useful? Yes absolutely, but they have their drawbacks. Being that the camera is stationary, it may not catch what happens once the subjects and officers start moving. That's when the disagreements on events usually start.
Yes we still need cars too.

I use a $35.00 Chinese built camera on the windshield of my vehicle. Takes about 9 hours of video on a single 16GB chip.

Clarkston has had this for a while now and cars are retired way before 100,000.00 miles

Probably the most efficient (more than likely free of charge) method would have been for someone who knew what they were doing to order the laptops with rear facing camera to record dash video. DUH...

If we put those cameras in our cars the whiners would complain about "big brother" watching them. Stopping bitching about stupid stuff!!!

Not having Dash Cams is one of the few advantages of working in this dump.

You've got to actually be polite and seem like you care with a camera on board! Those suckers are shown in court!

If they want TRUE "state of the art" they should get something that really might save my ass one day. Like those Shoulder radio mounted cameras they have out now.

That right there would solve a lot of issues. And save the county a lot of money in the long run too.

This is sad.

This isnt state of the art....GSP equipped 600 patrols cars with in car video in 1992.
Texas DPS did it in 1991 to over 3000 patrol cars.

In car cameras are becoming outdated with the introduction of body worn cameras.
