Let Him Speak!

We know exactly how Mr. Jackson feels. Lil' Larry and the rest of the commissioners make us want to scream too.

Good for Mr. Jackson. Thank him for standing up for himself and for us.

The truth always hurt the one who made up the lies.

They put the police in place to put the citizen out for speaking the truth.

Larry ( double dipping ) Johnson who made money from Fulton and DeKalb at the same time.

He now wants to waste more police time and money to drive around in his district and make a parade of how great he is going to be in the future.

He is the joke of the commissioners. what is his back ground and what has he accomplished since being elected?

whoo hoo. he just told the truth. i know it must be hard to hear it. all the budget cuts well, the folks sitting on camp circle need to be in shackles with a shotgun behind them cutting the areas that y'all have decided you can't fit into your budget. when voting for new commissoners begin alot of you need to pray. you need to get it, our officers and their families put their lives on the line for us and don't get anything but more cuts. wise up!

Thank you Jeremiah Jackson Jr.! Dekalb needs more citizens like you!

Jerry Jackson was wrong and has to know that he has to follow the same rules for speaking that all other residents have to follow.

He was very disrespectful in his presentation. He has right to disagree but he needs to do it properly.

Good for him. We need a few more like him at every meeting. DeKalb Officers need to be in place to allow them to speak and keep other officers from trying to escort them out.

LARRY JOHNSON AND SHARON BARNES SUTTON. Two useless parasite pieces of non-work who are under the assumption that they are the greatest commissioners that ever walked the sidewalks of Dekalb County Georgia. That is the bigest lie ever portrayed on the public in the history of the world. THESE TWO FINE OUTSTANDING PIECES OF SHIT ARE ANYTHING BUT and need to at the very least, voted out or indicted soon.

Where do I find Mr. Jackson so I can go shake his hand? I mean outside of a commission meeting that is.

If I was one of the "musclemen" for the Board of Crooks I would be ashamed.....you guys should be on the road fighting crime not bullying citizens who are speaking up for US....and I use that term loosely; just because we wear the same uniform does not automatically mke you one of us. Obviously the truth HURTS doesn't it Board of Chumps.....

If enough citizens had the guts to stand up like he did, then the politicians would have to listen. Was he out of line? Absolutely, but we're at a point where many things are coming to a head for both county employees and citizens.
Citizens who actually pay taxes here are tired of their money being stolen by corrupt political thugs. Employees...well this is the only place that I have ever worked where you end up making less money the longer you're here. I've been working here for four years now and my take home pay is almost at the same level as it was in the academy after the pension increase and benefit hike. Mr. Jackson said something that almost all of us are thinking on a daily basis. Taxpayers are going to have to pay more for less. Employees are being told to work harder for less. I'm getting screwed both ways being an employee that lives inside the county.
Something will break here in the very near future. Whether it will be the corrupt politicians, taxpayers, or the labor pool will remain to be seen.

Dekalb County is the perfect example of what happens when COMPLETE IDIOT liberal thieves are elected by a mass of front porch sitting professional check collectors who couldn't even spell the word commission.
Would be funny to see the whole southside into one new city and clean up the streets. Hey they did it in Miami Gardens, FL a few years ago and turned a gang infested war zone which was being patrolled my Metro Dade PD into a pretty nice city.
When you showed up to roll call, they would pick 6 of the toughest officers, give them a mini van, and do corner jump outs for months at a time. Thugs got the picture and vacated the city.

So the citizens are speaking up for you guys and you have the nerve to put your hands on them. I bet you probably couldn't wait to write him a ticket as well. Mr. Jackson, do yourself a favor and move to a more productive county with officers who won't put their hands on you while you speak up for them.

To Anon 935, Our founding Fathers were wrong also in the eyes of many. So stand up or shut up. will someone please identify the 2 DKPD Officer who were protecting Little Vernon? they should be ashmed.

That old man is mad as hell and he ain't gonna take it anymore...and so am I and so are we. I'm glad he did what he did. This BOC needs a ton of bricks to fall on it's head ! All of the current problems in our county and country were caused by those we have elected to run things. Republicans are as bad as democrats in getting us into this mess nationally but the democrats are the ones holding us back from getting out of the mess. I'm disgusted with government and so is everyone else I know.

Mr. Jackson, if you are reading this blog..... Thank you! You stood up for us and did what we can't publicly do.

Our job is to stand up to the criminal element.... thank you for standing up for us.

If anyone has it, PLEASE get this man's address for his precinct or get a POAP in place so we can be sure that put extra manpower on his street.

We owe him that.

From the bottom of my heart and from my entire family, Thank you Mr. Jackson!

Yeah, there are some commissioners who should go. But why is there not more outrage at the actions and incompetence of Burrell Ellis, who is responsible for a lot of the things you blame the BOC for?

Anonymous said...

To anon 935.... Let me get this straight....the boc and ceo pull all kinds of under handed, unethical, corrupt and imoral moves that not only negatively affect us but the citizens of the county as well.....such as misuse of taxpayer money, pension funds, shady land deals, etc etc etc ..... and this guy is wrong for giving the boc a new york style verbal assault.... you call it disrespect?....what do you call the behavior of these officials ?.....their decisions and behavior have tangible effects on hundreds of thousands.....what did he do?...damage their royalty like egos by telling it like it is?...do us all a favor and overdose on that kool aid you been drinkin....-anon 1118

I heard about Mr. Jackson's tirade through a third party, and that most of the audience agreed with every word Mr. Jackson spoke. His delivery might of been a little over the top, but his words were true and heartfelt.
Someone needs to take the clue-bat to some of the commissioners and they need to seriously grade themselves on their performance of the last two years.
Is the county any better off since they took office? Have they personally committed themselves to saving money for the county citizens? Are their motives personal political advancement or for the good of the citizens as a whole?
The city of Dunwoody did not secede from the county on a whim. Brookhaven is threatening to do the same and unless some major changes are made in DeKalb government Brookhaven will follow Dunwoody's example.
Collectively the CEO and BOC is not DeKalb's solution. They are the problem.

All I have to say is bravo..... He had every right to speak his mind... They (the commish's) work for him. They lie, steal and dont do a god damm thing that is good or productive for anyone or anything in the county... Period. As always "M outta here" and by the way may be outta here sooner than I think... One way or the other, I will be outta here before the pension theft goes into full effect..

Anyone still working for the county who didn't roll their eyes and talk shit about how dirty Don Frank was as soon as he walked away from them should be fired.

Way to go Mr. Jackson. The disrespect was from the BOC towards you! You have much admiration from many people for taking the stand that you did. Maybe you did raise your voice but, you know what? They just don't ever seem to listen to anyone who speaks softly. The stance you took and the way you presented your concerns may not have set well with them but one thing is for sure: THEY WON'T BE FORGETTING THIS DEKALB CO. RESIDENT FOR A VERY LONG TIME! You rule, Mr. Jackson! And as a former DeKalb public safety employee, many thanks to you for for pointing out how much our officers are appreciated for the work that they do in protecting all of us. Which although unfortunate at times, includes the BOC members.

To Anonymous 1:58p, Mr. Jackson is not 22; he is a person who simply stood up and said what most county workers feel and know to be the truth. How many other land deals in the past have already happened like this one? It wont be long before the poeple go to vote again and the clip of Mr. Jackson telling it like it really is in Dekalb will be played over and over again on the news as a reminder for why people in Dekalb need to get out and vote, and then voice their concerns to the FEDS and the DA to come help clean this mess up.

I'm sorry but the BOC deserves all of the disrespect that can be bestowed upon them. They deserve no respect for the way they run things and conduct themselves. It's about time we had a citizen speak his mind at a BOC meeting. More should do the same.

I do not like discrimination. If the Elected Officials of Fulton County are making it possible for District Three Commissioner Larry Johnson to attend all of these DeKalb County Functions including
the National Association of Counties then I hope that The Elected Officials of Fulton County are just as helpful to Those that have sworn to "Protect and Serve" in Fulton County. I already have the EMail addresses of all. All I Need To Know Is If I Have Your Support In This Matter ? If The Fulton County Board of Commissioners, John Eaves President is going to give all of this flexibility to Larry Johnson he sure better make the same arrangements to EVERY EMPLOYEE IN THE COUNTY OR IT IS DISCRIMINATION AND WE MAY HAVE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FEDS OR GOVERNOR OR WHOEVER ! DO I HAVE YOUR SUPPORT ! Thank You ! Be Safe and once agaqin my prayers go out to Officer Landers Burton for his complete aqnd speedy recovery ! Jerry Myer Jackson Jr.

In case you haven't noticed this is how democracy operates. Citizens elect those with their best interests at hand and they have and will continue to do just that in the Dekalb community. If you aren't onboard with the majority then move and/or seek other employment.

1:56 pm - you are what objectivists refer to as the "mediocre masses". The people who always choose the path of least resistance because it's easy. If you are a person of strong character and principles, and know a little bit about history, you would know that it's the people who are willing to sacrifice their position, comfort, personal safety, that are the ones who have accomplished significant and important changes in our society. In order to make it better. (If you want some examples let me know. I'll be happy to elaborate.)
If you're la-de-da happy never sticking your neck out to correct injustices, then you're probably in denial about a lot of things. Good luck in your next life.
(Lessons not learned are repeated.)

You people that disagree with Mr. Jackson must not live in DeKalb County, must not have children attending DeKalb County schools, must not be an officer, and must not see the crime everyday. Also, they must not know any police officers in the county and how almost all of them have to have a second job to make ends meet. My father, two aunts, and three uncles worked as officers in DeKalb County and they have seen the horrible crime first hand and you wouldn’t believe what the officers deal with on a day to day basis in DeKalb.

I was born and raised in DeKalb and it is a different way of life…No place like home, isn’t that what they always say? It’s more like, No place I want to call home. DeKalb needs more officers on the streets with the crime the way it is and to be in danger every second you're on the road, these officers definitely need and deserve a raise. Not take their vacation days away (the only thing that keeps these officers sane), not to keep adding more furlough days (they get paid little as it is), and definitely not adding more money into the pockets of these idiots running the county, they are the ones running the county into the ground.

On A side note, other government paid persons working in DeKalb getting screwed by BOC. My sister has worked for the county as a teacher for over five years and has not received a step increase(raise), in fact she has had a pay cut because of all the furlough days. On top of that DeKalb does not contribute to her retirement and has increased her healthcare and insurance payments along with adding more children to each classroom adding a burden to her strenuous class. This is happening to all teachers and classrooms across the county. Do you believe that she, and other wonderful teachers, should continue to raise the children of DeKalb for a fraction of what these idiots on the BOC make? These worthless members make decisions that do not affect them and instead of being less greedy and concerned about the people working in DeKalb, they are more concern with how much money they can cut from the workers pockets and put it into their own.

And for you saying “these poor children, they shouldn‘t see this at a board meeting”… the poor little children that were at that board meeting, hear far worse on the streets of DeKalb and they have a lot more to worry about than a hot headed Jarhead who is pissed off from being screwed, like the rest of us. These children, if not careful, will be the ones being arrested by these police officers because they broke into your home and stole your flat screen television. And you would be the people that would call complaining to the county because the police officers didn’t show up fast enough because they were too busy on the other fifteen calls before theirs, seeing they are over worked, under staffed, and well under paid.

As for you Mr. Jackson, thank you for standing up for the county, the people and police officers of DeKalb. You see the potential we have when we finally get rid of these idiots running DeKalb. God Bless, Good Luck, and Thank You!

Way to go Mr. Jackson. It's called freedom of speech and he attempted to exercise it but was interrupted and thrown out. So what silly larry you did not like what he was speaking - the truth, just in his tone. You all are expected to be professional, the customers (citizens of DeKalb), don't have to be. I'm glad this was on video, so larry was exposed. Kicking someone out for their opinion because you didn't like - shame.

A tradition of this Country - as well as a protected right - is civil disobedience. Mr. Jackson was well within his rights to thumb his nose at the BOC....no level of government is above public scorn. If that is something that hurts the sensibilities of an elected official...then...don't run for office. And...the crime rate, lack of services, the systemactic dismantling of the police department - are just a few of the reasons why I moved out of DeKalb County. I am retired from DeKalb County, and I'm watching our pension go down the toilet. I cannot escape the bad decisions of the BOC or the administration heads of DeKalb County (are y'all loving our choices of medical insurance?). I'm ready for a little bit of civil disobedience of my own.

Thank you Mr. Jackson. Our family is proud of you. Thank you for the truth. They are afraid of the people speaking up the truth. We need more people like Mr. Jackson.Stand up and speak up. Unite and fight the liers and thiefs.Vote for Mr. Jackson and people like him.
It is a shame that Mr. Jackson was removed by the Police Officers he was trying to defence.
Dekalb BC and Dekalb CEO Ellis destroy Dekalb and its citizens. They must cut their own big salaries. Dekalb citizens must to remove all of them. They don't think about the people of Dekalb. They are thinking only about themselves and their pockets. Get out.
