Dekalb County, as we all know, is run by a bunch of inept, lazy, useless, thieving, corrupt bastards who are going to continue to steal from the hard working taxpayers of this county in order to satisfy their individual needs of lining their own pockets and keep themselves on their high pedastals until the day come when either the county files for chapter 11 or we (the taxpayer) votes in an entire new bunch.

Its that simple !!!!!

If everything that the blog master says is true about Sutton, the weight of the media should be all over her. I propose due to the disfunctional operation and possible ethics violations along with criminal behavior of certain BOC members there should be a citizens review committee overseeing their decisions. If police depts can have everyday citizens sit on boards to see what we do, certainly everyday citizens should be able to monitor decxisions made by our elected officials. Operate it like a Grand Jury. What ever it takes to get this county back on track.

I just want to say thanks to those employees that believe DeKalb county government and its citizens are worth the loss in revenue and chance for personal career advancement by sticking with the job in the face of a hostile political leadership and management that regards DeKalb employees as political cannon fodder or a revenue resource rather than the valuable asset that never receive the recognition that is richly deserved.
For sure there employees that are mediocre or just plain sorry. That can only be expected with the poor salaries, bloated staff and many jobs that are repetitious and intellectually boring. For those of you trapped in such careers and ambitious, take a look at going to night school or an online campus in an interesting career field, odds are the county does have a position in that area and it is not difficult to transfer providing you are a reliable, conscientious employee.
For those of you that have stuck it out, that do your jobs day after day with little encouragement, those of you that became my friend, or were pleasant to work with, that give the extra effort to serve the citizens in a federally declared "Hostile work environment" of the last decade under Jones and Ellis, many thanks! Bravo Zulu and well done!

The very best of luck to you guys!

I'm not a cop, but the Facilities Management Supervisors are sabotaging our Facility jobs by refusing to give the HVAC repair team work-orders and giving them to contractors, They have the PM Team repeating buildings literally two to three times in a row claiming that it was not complete instead of moving on to the next building to be serviced. It has been over 1 year since West Exchange, The main courthouse, CSB, and many others have been serviced. They are suppose to be done every six months. This is in an effort to get their contractors in to take our jobs. Can anyone say kickbacks!!!! What can be done?

I did not notice these items in the AJC before I left town, Commissioners Barnes-Sutton and Watson have been fined for failure to disclose campaign contributions as required by federal law. Link is to Atlanta-unfiltered.

http://www.atlantaunfiltered.com/2011/08/09/campaign-finance-panel-fines-dekalb-commissioners-sutton-watson/

Judges love to quote "ignorance is no excuse for knowing the law", that's easy to say when you have a law-clerk with the primary duty of exploring laws and explaining them to the judge. Citizens do not have that option and federal laws and regulations have run amok to the point that few citizens know all of them that pertain to their interests or careers.
But in Barnes-Sutton case she had an experienced campaign manager, Warren Mosby to advise her, and just like her bounced checks she ignored the law.
The fact that all the major local news media has not picked up on the story can only indicate they are increasingly dysfunctional in reporting news affecting DeKalb citizens.
As I have said before, If the local news media won't do their jobs, then we will.
Best of luck mates!

here we go again, supervisors at East Precinct making it public "you will write at least 3 long copy citations a night, or face disciplinary action".

Anonymous said...

How stupid can some of these supervisors be? Tell that supervisor next time put that request in writing. Then when you get written up and you quit or call the PBA or which ever lawyer and sue for hostile work place, discrimination etc, his name can be included in that lawsuit. Of course the county would have already gotten rid of him before litigation starts. Some supervisors just have NO idea what they can get themselves involved in. Is it really worth it? I mean if you are going to cost the county a possible lawsuit I just hope you know that your behind will be FIRED also.

thought east pct was 5 tickets every officer every day, which is why other precinct officers have no respect for command and supervisors at east. I heard that sergeants and lieutenants are being asked to get out and write tickets as well?

Anonymous said...

What do you expect with the little general stathis and kliesthrath together. They no more care about the officers than the commisioners

Anonymous said...

Stathis is still there? My god I left 7 years ago and he had 30 in then.

Go home Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do the standup supervisors handle this? I remember some used to openly say in roll to disregard their garbage and just look out for one another. I guess there are none remaining these days.

Does anyone know anything about the upcoming open enrollment...what types of insurances are they gonna stick us with this time?

Anonymous said...

Anon 9:44,

The county is looking at a new healthcare provider called "Suttoncare." They'll forget to pay most bills and the bills they do pay will be with rubber checks.

Anonymous said...

I've found it is actually less expensive to get insurance yourself through a reputable carrier. If they offer the $2,000.00 payout again to get your own you'd be foolish to not take advantage of it. Get quotes yourself and you'll see I'm correct. Someone is getting kickbacks on the pitiful insurance they off now I assure you, or they aren't paying what portion they claim because the rates and coverage is pathetic.

It does make more sense to expect citations from Sgts and Lts as they have much more down time than the beat cop running from call to call. You can't tell me they don't see violations throughout the shift as well. The days of making more money for less work are over.

"Suttoncare"- now that was a good one, I'm still laughing...

Anonymous said...

I concur on that as well. "Suttoncare" made me laugh so hard that I almost got a hernia

I also agree with the poster that commented on the healthcare cost contributions made by the county. I don't believe that the county is contributing the 70% that they say they are towards the total cost.

There is one key difference between math and politicians. Math don't lie and the rules of it are set in stone

There are some supervisors at East who don't push tickets at all. That's what TAC is for.

Damn I'm slow, took a sec but I got it and yes I'm blonde

ED WALL, your pension Chairman, is employed by RAYMOND JAMES?? As smelly as SBS is, it's small, compared to CEO corruption.

VJ is sitting back laughing at the havoc he created. He's proud of BE.

Anonymous said...

your right there is 2 supervisors at east who dont push citations. TWO!!! the rest dont have the courage to stand up to Capt Crunch and General Custer and fight for what is right.

Suttoncare! Where the motto is, "The Check is in the Mail!"

why in gods name does anyone think that the liberal atlanta media will report on Dekalb County another ultra liberal government. Same way CBS, NBC, CNN all want to snuggle up with the NObama administration. Fat chance that an actually story will be reported. What we need to do is find a way to get this state away from "right to work" so that a Police Union (PBA, FOP)can take place and then maybe we might have a fighting chance.

Have you lost your freaking mind? A Union! Put down the crack pipe! Stay out of the cool-aid.

Show me a Union ANYWHERE that isn't corrupt. They are WORSE than most politicians! They are heavily tied to ORGANIZED CRIME FOR GODS SAKES!

Unions are just another group of slimy two faced double dealing dirty bastards who take your money, promise you the moon, and shank you in the back while lining their own pockets. All they care about is their own power! Sound familiar? A Union would double our problems and eventually destroy us. Yeah, that's just what we need. A whole new layer of double tongued bureaucrats.

Unions ALWAYS accomplish two things in the long run.

1. They pull the entire work force down to its lowest common denominator. So look around and ask your self who is the most useless and worthless piece of s--- Officer you know. That will become the standard. It happens EVERY time.
2. They destroy every entity the infect with ridiculous demands that wipe out the business ability to compete. (Takes longer if its government because government has the power to steal from the public with taxation but over a long enough time period the tax base simply vacates the area.) Can you say Detroit suburbs?

Don't believe me? Ask a US Steel worker. O wait, There are no more US Steel workers.

Joining a Union is just like selling your soul to the devil. You will get a short term gain and then spend the rest of your time in HELL. Heck it could be worse. Because everyone who comes after you is forced to live in S--- H--- left over after the unions destroy the tax base and run all the business away.

The Article Is Titled : DeKalb DA Among Top Lawyers On "Making The Rise List"

Are You $htin me ??

Are You $htin me ??

I would suggest that you guys put on your big boy and girls britches and bring your comments to Cross Roads News on behalf of The DeKalb DA !

I firmly believe that The DeKalb DA is nothing more than a self serving bottom feeder working for his own gain. His "no action" policy of letting the DeKalb CEO & BOC have "their way" has all of us where we are now !

Damn......did I miss something?..... When the trick was the BOC vote on THREE unfounded holidays?
