Retired Major John Fenley Dies

Visitation for retired Major John Fenley will be held at Tom Wages Funeral Home, 3705 Hwy 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039, Monday October 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Tuesday October 11, from 1:00 -3:30 pm.

The funeral service being at 3:30 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.

The internment will follow at Melwood Cemetery located at 5170 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Stone Mountain, GA 30083.

Go in peace brother.

The year 2011 has been a great loss to some of the finest that ever wore a badge in DeKalb County.

Those were the ones who made this police department one of the best in the nation.

Major Fenley was one of the good guy's. Tough, smart and fair. A good man.

In 1985 when I was a new Det., he was not too impressed and said in 90 days we would take a look and see if I still belonged there. Through hard work I won him over. When I left to work for the FBI, he bought my lunch. He was a class act. Thanks for helping show me th ropes. RIP. JA Brunn former DKPD 969.
