Former Officer Bryan Stancil Dies

Bryan Clark Stancil, 52, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Richey and Mattie Lou Sims and Harold and Myrtie Lou Stancil.

He was the son of Theron and Nancy Sims Stancil of Commerce.

Survivors in addition to his parents include a daughter, Savannah Caitlin Stancil, Jefferson; son, Coleman Clark Stancil, Jefferson, stepson, Mark Alan Watkins, Snellville; a stepdaughter, Brooke Nicole Wilson, Gainesville; two brothers, Theron Stancil Jr., Marietta, and David Stancil, Acworth; and a sister, Susan Stancil, Nashville, Tenn.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 29, at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church with the memorial service following at 11 a.m. Carlton Allen and Justin Stafely will be officiating.
The family is at the residence of Theron and Nancy Stancil.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church or a charity of your choosing.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
