The City of Briarcliff?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The City of Briarcliff Initiative, organizers behind a cityhood effort in central DeKalb County, will hold a community meeting early next month.

The group recently paid $30,000 to fund a feasibility study of the city, which will fit inside the Perimeter and I-85 and have an estimated 90,000 residents.

The informational meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Road, near Decatur.

I'm ready for all the new Cities. Look what Burrell and his Organized Homeboys turn this County into.

Were all waiting for the Ellis regime to topple. From Directors to File Clerks are accepting kickbacks. I have never seen anything like Dekalb County Govt, its a criminal enterprise.

Robert James need help prosecuting all these people.

How much area will be remaining in this county after all of these cities are created? There will NOT BE A DeKalb County to manage anything. If the crooks of this county government did what they were supposed to do in a manner which was ethical, then the creation of all of these new cities would not exist.

If the crooks of this county government did not line their own pockets, then the services would be very good, the property values would high, Public Works employees would not be visiting Quik Trip stations to play the lottery or sleeping in their trucks, taking four hour lunches, etc.

The Burrell Ellis, Vernon Jones, Richard Stogner, and the remainder of the crooked ass holes would not be in power to cause more damage they did.

Now with the formation of new cities on the horizon and the disappearing of the DCPD, only time will tell what will happen to this county.

@ 8:58am, you named Burrell, VJ, and Strogner, what about the Dekalb employees opening clubs on Buford Hwy, Moreland, and Cafe's on Memorial?

Hello Fire Marshals!

The fight will be between Lakeside and Briarcliff/Tucker. Based solely on boundaries, Briarcliff and Tucker seem like logical choices, but Lakeside may have more pull in the legislature.

If Lakeside forms there will definitely be no Briarcliff and maybe no Tucker. If Lakeside forms, I expect Druid Hills and other areas close to the city limits may join Atlanta.

Then there is Stoncrest:

http://www.stonecrestcityalliance.org/

They, too, have raised $30,000 for a study, and I think the odds are very good for them to become a city.

Organizers for Lakeside, Briarcliff and Stonecrest have all said they want their own police departments, while Tucker has said they may not start with their own force.

So in a few years there may no longer be a Center/North-Central precinct, Tucker precinct, or East precinct.

Why in the world would a community want to be part of Atlanta, Fulton county?

I'd suggest freezing any retirement you may have ASAP.

I pray everyone who wants to become a city become one. That means this blog will go away. Stop complaining! The more you complain the weaker you look as officers.

Whoever said Druid Hills is going to be annexed by Atlanta is a total moron. The residents there are vehemently opposed to it and would never sign off on being part of Atlanta.

The news last night covered the City of Chamblee's further expansion/incorporation over to I-85 and I-285. The chief advised he is seeking "veteran/experienced officers" with an improved benefits package. This once great, powerful giant of a county,is shrinking to "a confused little person, munchkin". AND THEN THERE WERE TWO.

Well sports fans, the citizens have submitted all "their" paperwork to initiate their own city proposals! Briarcliff and Tucker resident's are on a roll,to get the hell on! Oh well, look on the bright side.If you get tired of one policing in one place, you can always just go next-door. Uh-oh!! Looking sho nuff bad for all the "folks" south of 78! No mo free sh*t!! Got to get a job now,umm-hmm !!!

All of this incorporating is getting ridiculous. You're not going to be better off in the long run having 20 cities in the county, each patrolling 3 square miles. You lose one of the greatest assets a large department has: intelligence on thousands and thousands of suspects. If Brookhaven has a 42 perp move into the area from Tucker, do they have reports in their system on him to help identify him? Dekalb detectives can search our databases for all kinds of intelligence on perps. You lose that when you start your own two block, 10 man department.

Then why does so much crime remain in DeKalb? If you have so much "intelligence" put them in jail and be done with it. DUH...

Have you seen who is now over the Intelligence shop in Dekalb? HAHAHHA

3:38pm, we're very good at putting people in jail. The problem is lack of prosecution, stupid juries voting "not guilty" with overwhelming evidence to convict and lenient sentences from judges even when we do get a conviction. Forming a city and getting your own police department won't change any of that. Lemme guess, Janet, is that you again? I'll bet it is!

If that is true then what is the point in anything you do?

anom 1:55. Plain and simple. To try to protect you, that's all!!

I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself so shutdown or go help an old lady cross the street.

5:49. Evidently not,or you wouldn't be on this blog !Old ladie's are smarter than to try to cross the streets in this county. They will either get run over by a stolen car,or get robbed. Take a break. You don't have to be an ass-hole everyday of your life!!
