Well, good for him.

DKPD is like the proverbial one night stand. Everyone hops on for a temporary fix then off to bigger and better things.

Why would he deny that he was leaving during a press conference and then leave?

Is it a coincidence that the finalist for the Fire Chief job was a Chief in Rochester also. It's a small world after all.

If he's looking at the money, he'll stay in Dekalb.

If he accepts the job. Good for him. I don't understand why it's an issue among us.

Who is he? Brett Favre?? Make a decision like a man and stand by it. What a tool.

If you were him why would you stay? Put yourself in his shoes. Good luck in Rochester! Bring on Dale Holms....... Merry Christmas from Dekalb county!!!!

I am hoping that Lee May is more intelligent than the previous CEO. Putting Dale Holmes in charge of the PD would be yet another huge mistake. Hopefully common sense will prevail with Mr. May in charge. The trash needs to be taken out, not put into place of authority.

He has just been playing the head games with us. Make us think something is going to change then slowly change the focus. We need someone who makes every unit in this department accountable for their job. DeKalb is behind due to us as a department not allowing this place to grow. DO YOUR JOB needs to be on posters in headquarters and precincts. He came in saying I'm going to beef up uniform, we are to top heavy, nothing has changed and uniform has got smaller day by day.

Chief was at East Precinct this afternoon having a closed door meeting with command staff in the roll call room. Saying farewell most likely...this county can't keep a chief to save their life...Sad

Makes no real difference. All I want for Christmas is my 4/3. Back!!!!

However you split that sweet pie; uniform will be on 5-2s by March 2014!!!!! All the runners up for interim Chief are all pro 5-2s!!! SUCK THAT SH*T UP GUYS!!!

CID; mainly Major Felony (Salute guys), fought hard to get back on 4-3, but their minds are made up!

Again rather than blogging, why not band together (LIKE A UNION) and man the wheel.

He's talking but he has yet to say he's staying... guess he'll be paying back the bonus.

I think ole Cedric is just playing games. It is very possible that after all the BS drama over the last few weeks concerning his departure, he doesn't leave at all. He reminds me of an insecure teenage girl who constantly needs someone telling her how pretty and how great she is.

Pleezzee Mr. Alexander, Don't leave us and go to NY sir! We just some po southern hicks and you the greatest and smartest man we ever done known sir! We be most grateful if you stay just 6 more months and teach us how to be good police. We never met nobody got more police experience than you sir!

Anon 12:43PM, that was freakin awesome! I had to pick myself up off the floor after reading that. That is exactly what Chief Cedric thinks. We just a bunch of po lil hillbilly's.

I hope everyone knows that Chief Cedric has never EVER been a supervisor in ANY police department. He was a Detective down in Miami but has never even been a Sergeant! He left Miami and went to graduate school in NY and they hired him as a freaking Chief with no experience whatsoever. It's not how much you know, it's who you know. He's proof of that.

WSB reporting he's staying. Lucky you.

STAYING? REALLY...? If he was SO wanted and loved in NY why would he risk losing his job here with a new CEO coming? Not to mention the OBVIOUS love (sarcasm) every one here has for him.

Hahahaha.... I say, I, I, I, say son, back to the drawing board.
