Dekalb Tied To Another Political Corruption Case

Say it isn't so.

And the Chamber of Commerce wonders why new businesses are avoiding DeKalb County like the plague, or the mob.

Click here to read was coming in June.

So here's a couple questions....first....why are a good many of the officers issued take home cars, not taking them home?? Second, why are the FTOS who have the take home cars parking their take home and tying up another unit because they don't want their rookies driving their car.....doesn't this defeat the entire purpose of the cars?

Standby for all the businesses forced to pay "campaign contributions" to start coming out of the woodwork to avoid prosecution for paying bribes like these others.

Let it be known to those denouncing knowledge of their subordinates and coworkers actions that your incompetence/ignorance is no longer a valid excuse. Where there is smoke, there is fire and birds of a feather ALWAYS flock together.

It would be nice if the Feds would come in before all is pillaged. Seems it's preferable we all drown at this point from obvious decades of failing to prosecute.

PLEASE. . . . Someone, anyone, FBI, GBI, State Atty, Gov's Office . . ., CLEAN UP THIS COUNTY ONCE AND FORALL.

12:12pm, the goal is to get more life out of the units. If the fto's don't want rookies driving the car they are responsible for, good for them. If officers don't think their driveway is a safe place for a unit, good for them. Stop worrying about what other people are and aren't doing. Worry about yourself.

Hi guys!
I haven't been around much for several reasons. Everyone knows my views, other interests and last time I popped in not much activity was occurring.
Things are getting interesting with whats happening with DeKalb political leadership, and the next six months will entertaining.
One question please, has Sherry Sutton-Barnes changed her name to Sharon Sutton? I am arguing with someone about the lady and they are claiming Sutton-Barnes has no relation to Barnes.

It is amazing how many people in power in DeKalb County have no regard for the law. The entire county is a cesspool of corruption. No character, no morals and no honesty.Unfortunately this includes Cedric the media whore.

How much worse will this have to get before the federal government intervenes? I don't want that to happen but this level of corruption is what eventually leads to a situation like Detroit.

Anonymous said...

Sadly we all know now why so much citation revenue is needed, to support our corrupt officials.

Anonymous said...

There is no early parole/probation etc with fed convictions so our DA could certainly use their assistance at this point as opposed to simply watching him drown.

To April 9, 11:00 PM....

DeKalb County was THE epicenter of "white flight" starting in the late 1960's....it all began here. The government intervened and decided to make DeKalb a better place to live. Other large cities followed in this insane government backed social experiment gone horribly wrong, and the culmination of all of that social engineering IS what happened to Dekalb County and almost ALL major metro areas in the US. Dont believe me....that's OK. I was there and saw it with my own eyes! Once the fox is living in the hen house don't expect any eggs. The voters of DeKalb PREFER criminals to run the show because they reflect their own ideals. Therefore, dont expect the FED's too get involved to help out either since this is their little experiment. Now dont you feel like lab rats?

There are seven Robber Hoods on the BOC. Unlike the real Robin Hood, who takes from the rich and gives it to the less fortunate, The Robber Hoods at the commission takes from the citizens and give to themselves.......That's the big difference.

This blog has become such a big disappointment. So much anger and negativity! Oh yeah, and I think you should clean up the dirty cops within your own ranks before you start pointing fingers elsewhere. Now go bring a smile to someone's face.

I'm so sick of this crap of calling in the Fed's....I no more trust the Imperial Federal Govt than I do our on local authority. The problem we have is everyone thinks the Imperial Fed Gov't is the great almighty force and can solve all your freaking problems. Hence the reason this country and this State and this county are in the position they are in now. It's time we clean our own house and stop trying to call in Big Brother to do it for us. Keep their asses away from here...The Imperial Fed's couldn't find their way out of a wet paper sack and you clowns want their help. Totally useless. It takes those with integrity to hold others accountable....not bringing in outside idiots. Wake up and smell the freaking coffee DEKALB COUNTY!!!!

To April 10 at 11:24 PM....SCREW YOU! Walk a mile in our shoes and you might have some idea of what we are talking about. Also, we have been trying to clean up our own ranks for years. Its idiots like you that undermine all that with you that keep electing these crooks and then you cry foul. The time for kind words and consideration for morons like you past many years ago. Now go drink your koolaid and you and your little buddies call me a hater. Oh yeah....once more in case you didnt hear me the first time....SCREW YOU.

To April 10 at 11:50 PM...AMEN!!! These idiots ARE the FED's, and we are all living their nightmare.

To April 11 at 10:38 AM......AMEN to that too! They will steal everything they can from us and use it as they see fit.

Anonymous said...

What choice do we have but to ask for outside help when Dekalb continually fails to clean its own house?

Anonymous said...

Since when did we ever have a Public Corruption Unit in DeKalb? Are they talking about that I.A. Task Force they put together or a few months that did nothing?

Anonymous said...

Anon 11:24

Do you have any idea where the anger and negativity comes from?

You are disappointed in this blog, like the blog is to blame for the disgraceful behavior by the leaders and politicians of DeKalb County?

If there was no blog then the upper management of the police department would cease to be idiots and the leaders and politicians of Dekalb would stop committing felonies huh?

Yeah, I see your point. All of the negatives in DeKalb County are caused by the DeKalb Officers Speak Blog. I am ashamed that I wasn't smart enough to figure it out myself.

Wow...just wow. It doesn't look good folks. I think I'm gonna have to go back to work to make up for the loss of my pension. Thank goodness I'll be 65 this year and HOPEFULLY will get Medicare - I'm pretty sure that retiree benefits will be the first to go once this county collapses. Excuse me...I need to go and practice saying "plastic or paper."

The blog better start posting articles of male political crooks or you will be accused of the "war on women". The last few have been female. Affirmative action decrees thqt he next thre should be male. I was just thinking that the comments insinuating that this blog is dishonarable in different respects....maybe if the workers in dekalb county had honorable bureaucrat employers..honorable bosses to look up to..those that lead by honorable example, that that honor would be more evident in the entire county. This was a great place years ago...can it get back to the place it was years ago? The rank and file Dekalb workers are disgusted...I can only inaging how the citizens and outsiders see us.

East precinct is looking like a ghost town with all the officers leaving....,wonder how long it will be before officers from other precincts are voluntold to transfer.

http://t.crossroadsnews.com/news/2014/apr/11/dekalb-county-acquire-south-dekalb-ymca/

The above is a link that was posted in open comments. Im re-posting it up here because I think it deserves more attention.

The county's very ethical, moral, and fiscally responsible elected officials are ponying up just under $5 million dollars to buy the south Dekalb YMCA property and then doing a leaseback to the YMCA along with...you guessed it, some construction work. Time to skim off the top from the contracts again. We have seen this done before, although in the reverse plenty of times under Vermin Jones. And of course some of the commissioners are throwing the first lady's name into the motivation and justification behind the expenditure for the health and wellness of the children. You know how you can look out for the health and wellness of the children....encourage many of the idiots out there not to breed and create them !

This place is a joke, the people running it are a joke, and those selling the "we still have a job to do" bullshit are also a joke. You got your large paychecks and perks for selling your soul to these reprehensible governing officials.

The BOC has applied band aids, at best, to the gunshot wounds that public safety is experiencing in terms of turnover. A take home car and a 3 % raise is a start, but it is not enough, and quite frankly TOO LITTLE TOO LATE. And it really may be too little too late when the new health benefits costs come to light in about 2 weeks. Also check out how much food and gas are going up.

Also check this out:

http://americasmarkets.usatoday.com/2014/04/09/report-85-of-pensions-could-fail-in-30-years/

Its an article articulating how as many as 85% of all public pensions may fail in 30 years or less. And PEBSCO (google it) does not cover public pensions. This means that if the pension goes Tango Uniform, you are shit out of luck. Most dont believe it can happen, but it has happened. Prichard Alabama and Detroit Michigan are two off the top of my head that are living proof.

Start seriously deciding if staying here is something that is really a wise decision to be making for you, your family, and your future. There are other agency's and other ways to make a living. I think holding out hope for this place at this point is a foolish notion.

God Bless, stay safe, and THINK ABOUT IT

SERENITY NOW CORRECTION

PBGC Not PEBSCO
(think PEBSCO was an acronym for one of our deferred comp people)

https://www.pbgc.gov/

This is a link to the fed govt agency that guarantees private sector pensions and specifically warns that it does not guarantee public sector pensions....in fact, no one does

Sorry for the mix up

All the more reason to buy back any POAB available to you. Have everything paid off when you leave there and at least you'll have your living expenses met.

Kinda all makes you want to vomit dont it. Yall never thought the thieves would end up winning this game did you.
We are outnumbered...let em have the place. Maybe theyll adopt that new muslim law..."shiria" or whatever it is and they can all cut each others hands and heads off when they disagree with each other....and itll be "legal".

County pension funding continued to drop while the employee contributions doubled.
The really stupid part of all this is that if the county offered competitive market salaries the county could drop the pension contribution altogether while increasing the quality of potential recruits or employees.

Brothers and Sisters,

We (DKPD) have had the services of Cedric L. Alexander, Psy. D. for a year. It's only appropriate to give him an annual review. In our line of work we evaluate the subordinates that "work for us". While Dr. Alexander is not subordinate to us, as the Chief and now Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Public Safety, he works for us. As a leader, he is ultimately a servant. Chief Alexander stated in his initial acceptance speech (02/20/13) "I commit myself to this agency." How has he done? While the FOP leadership does not completely agree with Dr. Alexander on every issue, we want to acknowledge what has occurred with him "at the helm".

The good ship DKPD has seen many rough waters (years). There were problems hired or created under previous managements that surfaced during his watch. No finger pointing was done and no excuses were made. The problems were exposed and addressed. Improvements have been sought through input from line level up. He had committees formed from the rank and file, supervisors and first level managers to address many issues (such as, take home vehicles for all department members, part-time jobs, etc.).

We've seen the results of Dr. Alexander's efforts to take care of our department in the delivery of take-home cars for uniform personnel. He has also secured patrol rifles for issue to qualified personnel. We received a 3% "bonus/incentive pay". During the recent winter storms, sworn personnel who worked the event also received comp time rewards. Further proof of his dedication to our officers is that he has personally followed up on all of our deadly force uses since his arrival.

While we are not where we want to be, we are heading in the right direction. Our course change will take time, commitment from the members of our department, the CEO and the BOC. Rather than focusing (whining) on where we are not, let's focus on where we are at and how we are getting to where we want to be.

We give Dr. Alexander several high marks. We look forward to next year's evaluation and more good news.

Sincerely,

Jeff Wiggs

Corruption in DeKalb? I find that hard to believe.

Anonymous said...

Jeff Wiggs,

Words of a true career SOD man. If you would get out of that helicopter office on the 3rd floor of the Burgess building more than once a year you might actually know what is going on with the department. The rest of the department continues to suck ass and it will take more than giving a few take home cars to a FEW officers in uniform to change that.

If any credit is due to anyone for the take home cars and the 3% raise that we are SUPPOSE to be getting in a few months it should go to Lee May. Haven't other chiefs asked for take home cars and the CEO said NO? Ellis gets booted and replaced by Lee May who said yes to the take home cars and yes to the pay raise. And now this con artist,"love to see myself on TV" Alexander is taking the credit. The FOP fell for this BS?

I guess when Cedric and that arrogant ass clown SOD chief (B.S. Harris?)are giving speeches about how wonderful they are, you actually believe it?

Maybe that's why the Dekalb FOP only represents less than 10% of the department.

If he is doing a good job, I can't imagine how bad "doing a bad job" would be!!! and,Jesus wept.

Thanks to this forum. Without it we'd have no idea what was really going on in Dekalb. This use to be such a great county.......I am afraid we're all screwed now. A small business owner.

Nice place you have there.

How can I get on paid administrative leave Mr. May? Sounds like fun!

The old G.M.Plant finally sold. Wonder which county politician weaseled their way into "picking up a little walking around money",on that deal?
