I'm shocked they are promoting Captain Porter to Major.

If the promise of raises and take home cars continue, all should be well. The ones who left may regret leaving by this time next year.

The latest Blue Order shows that they are going to continue to deplete the uniform division. They cannot stand it when the uniform division is starting to become full strength.

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!

Porter to major?.... did I miss a blue order...last one I saw was transferring the recruits to uniform division.

When are they gonna fill the empty sergeant slots!

Anonymous said...

at most one or two more mpos will be promoted to sergeant, and most likely one or two more sergeants to lieutenant. Better luck next time

Anyone know if we're getting raises or a bonus?

Anonymous said...

They are saying the 3% will show up on our first check in August (8/8/14).... if my understanding of payroll is right, that will be the pay check covering pay period 7/19 thru 8/1. ( I don't have my payroll dates sheet with me)

No idea if the pay raise will cover the first 18 days of July or if the raise goes into effect on 7/19.

Maybe they'll surprise us and there will be an adjustment on that first check to cover those 18 days.... either way.... it will only be 20 or 30 dollars a month.

Those 20 or 30 bills will cover the cost of gas used to come in the extra day each week when we go to the 5/2.

Congrats to the 23 new officers. I'm really hoping and praying DKPD will get back on its feet. Stay positive guys!

They must have forgotten that Capt Porter, called ol Capt Newton the "N" word.

Rumor has is the new cars, are being considered for CID, and not being sent out to line officers as promised.
Can anyone shed some light on this???
What happened to the next batch being out in July, with all of uniform being outfitted by end of year???

@ July 5, 1:28am, the only raise your getting is raising your hand at the next BOC Meeting and ask the commissioners.

Shouldn't we have new insurance cards by now ?

I think it is so comical how everyone stands around and talks crap about how this place is being rundown and how our command staff are idiots and assholes. But as soon as one of the command staff comes to a meeting or has a roll call or just happens to run into a few officers. The officers and sgt's all of a sudden start kissing ass and acting like that person is the greatest. It makes me sick to see this crap, we have 4 or 5 captains that have integrity and morales and everyone else is standing in line mixing the Koop-aid and watching the god doctor walk on water and perform miracles. Thank you to those few captains that are left who are true police officers and remember where they came from. I hope if any of my officers ever see me acting that way they will call me out on it. Just 3 years to go and i pray I see a lot of people eat some humble pie.

It hasn't happened yet but you would be shocked if they promoted S. Porter to Major? You must not get out of the house much. I wouldn't be shocked if I saw a blue order reinstating Don Frank and promoting him to Major. He is out of Federal Prison now right? Probably needs a job. I figure S. Porter, C. Howard or one of Cedric's other, "good friends" and maybe one of B. Harris' do-boys in SOD are good bets for a Major slot.
What do you guys think? Make your prediction on who the next Majors will be.

Anonymous said...

Boy, some of you have it out for SOD. Some pretty damn good officers in that unit. Not all, but some damn good, hard working cops.

Anonymous said...

I took the Lt test when Porter did. When Porter walked in the brothers all hooted and hollered "There she is ,,,,,Lt Porter!!"

Low and behold guess who was in the top 3? Then Sgt Porter. Gotta love affirmative action!

Major K.D. Johnson just watch.

Anon 8:05
Sensitive much? The topic was who is next to be appointed to the rank of Major and giving consideration to what egghead Cedric may appoint next. Try to keep up.

BTW...I don't think all current Majors are eggheads and you are right Anon 8:05. There are some good officers in SOD.

Anonymous said...

To 9:55am I agree that there are some good officers in SOD, as well as in every unit. But the lack of management and meet your quota then you are free to do what you want to with the remainder of your shift has garnered a great bit of animosity among those that spend their entire shift back logged on calls. Maybe these guys should not have been bragging that they made their quota and had next 4 hours to goof off, check on part times, visit significant others, etc.

The great and mighty Dr. Alexander refused to go to basic mandate school to become post certified as an officer in the state of GA when he was the chief. Now he is going to be the president of an organization that is for black law enforcement, how can he be the president when he is not a certified officer in any state. This man has so many people fooled and what comes out of his mouth is such garbage.

I had a conversation about nancy funny and not seeing her enforcing her power with code enforcement. Did she finally retire from her evil ways?

Anonymous said...

A while back I submitted a training request for an officer that required funds. I was told there was no money available for training and the officer could pay for it himself or try again next year.

Now I understand that Alexander is currently at the NOBLE conference out of state for an entire week and took a large entourage of ass kissers - I mean police supervisors with him. Who is among this entourage and how were they chosen to go? Are the Dekalb County tax payers paying for this extravagance?

If you know the answer to these questions please post. The cost for 7 to 10 supervisors to take a week long trip like this would have to be several thousand
dollars.

Regarding Nancy Funnye: don't think she has retired as yet. She was working in the same building where code, planning & development and the fire marshall's offices are The Clark Harrison Bldg..but not in code enforcement...this is the last I heard about 3 months ago. No one I know down there seemed to know what her job title is... wasn't checking on her actually, was just curious if she had finally left the county.

Anonymous said...

Funny has the title of Security Services, whatever the hell that job description fits.

Anonymous said...

The woman Funny has made a name for herself in the County as the loner.

Frankly, I'm glad Alexander got the NOBLE post. Let him go pursue his ambitions and be a big law enforcement star somewhere else. I saw him on the ABC news last night teaching the reporter how to go slow while driving down a hill. Maybe Obama can make him some sort of czar so he can get the freak out of DeKalb already.

If I buy a fake online doctoral degree, claim to be God, walk on water and perform miracles then can I get appointed as a president of a bias organization.

Anonymous said...

I just heard that the swat team is not allowed to follow protocol unless the great Dr. Alexander has final say and If he can't be on scene the the 15 star General Harris will make the call. Now keep in mind neither one of theses idiots have ever been through swat school and have no clue as to what the right protocol is. Theses idiots are going to get someone hurt.

NOBLE.... good for him... the racial divide needed an exclamation point in Dekalb... the department is a mess but he has time to spend leading a racially defined organization. Priorities... priorities.

Anonymous said...

Funny, an incompetent boob, is untouchable because her brother is a big politico in deep with May, Watson, and others. She's worthless except for the exaggerated salary she gets for doing NOTHING of value.

Anonymous said...

To anon 12:25 NOBLE is for anyone...I hear that Harris and all the other asst. Chiefs and the Majors have all joined. Now that is the exclamation point on Serling your soul to man who calls himself God. It's amazing how these idiots kiss the ground he walks on. None f them have any moral fiber left in their body. But yet they clim to be fair and honest and respected men and women. Yet they try to cut each other's throat on a daily basis and they want everyone to think they are doing what is best for our department.

I remember when employees were so afraid of Nancy Funny and now the employees can look at her and laugh.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know when they're going to post the opening for Traffic Specialist?
I've heard there was an opening in there. I only hope they give everyone that applies a chance instead of giving it to one of their cronies. We know how this place operates but from what I'm told you need a strong math background. Can anyone advise??

Anonymous said...

TSU.... just another unit short one or more officers/detectives...

We're down over 13 sergeants and still nothing... don't hold your breath.

Anonymous said...

Who's patrolling Chamblee this weekend????

Unappreciated Gold Badge said...

Wow... Tahoes to the line officers only..per the 4th floor......

There must be something special in the future for the supervisors who have been here for years.... come early, leave late and put up with all the crap!

Anonymous said...

Easy now.... the sergeants DO get a 5% raise with those stripes... along with the respect of those above who place value on what they do to keep this department running.

Who was on the committee that developed the take home car plan? There was a committee wasn't there? Let me see....hmmmm...yes, I remember. It was a group of officers. That's right. I guess you now know who to direct your anger towards.

Anonymous said...

I believe the "committee" was detailed to develop policies governing take homes once issued.... not the list of who gets them... the secret list that, like the promotions list, is not posted or made public.

Why are lists not posted or made available?.... what the secrecy?

Anonymous said...

@1027 Wtf are you talking about genius... All of the shit is posted. It goes out county wide. Obviously you don't work for this department so stay the hell out of our business.

Anonymous said...

I've been here over a decade and have never seen a list published or made available to the public or the department as a whole... blue orders yes.... take car and promotion lists...I've never seen one.

Is it posted on a 4th floor bulletin board behind closed doors?
