Adios Vermin, the next thing you need to run for is the County line.............. and don't return.

Does this mean Don Frank does not have a job waiting for him?

Did any DeKalb County Police Officer that worked under his regime have any doubts about his sanity? Think of the pure insanity that happened within just the Police Dept during that time frame. Think of the ludicrous promotions. Think of Don Frank.

Finally, the first DeKalb election result in a decade that I can agree with. Congratulations to Mann and the DeKalb voters.
Brown losing to Johnson was a disappointment to me and the rural third of the 4th district. The biggest issue I have is the DeKalb county style Democrat politics and foolish ideology dominates the rural constituents of the 4th district that Mr Johnson doesn't even make the pretense of representing.
Three counties make up the fth congressional district, DeKalb with a population near 700,000, Rockdale at 70,00 and Newton at 90,000 citizens. Tying the two more conservative and rural counties to a large metro area county with different priorities and ideology is extremely frustrating.

Why are we still discussing Vernon Jones. He left office eight years ago. The county had eight years to fix some of the issues but didn't so blame the administrations after after him including the higher ups in the police department. Those assistant chiefs have been in those positions for years and the county hasn't improved at all maybe it's time to replace them. I saw on Facebook where Major Ellison said Vernon was the reason citizens wanted to incorporate Brookhaven. No those citizens wanted to become a city because you were busy running for sheriff where u live instead of taking care of those citizens like a Major should have been doing but you blame Vernon, no blame yourself.

What's a puzzler in this Sheriff's race was the fact that Vermin was able to render around 7,500 or so votes. This just means that south Dekalb has that many loons that are registered to vote. Talk about scary.

"Why are we still discussing Vermin Jones?" I'll tell you why. Those of us that know him from his past antics when he clowned as DeKalb's CEO, know he doesn't deserve an elected position EVER. As long as he throws his hat in the ring we will continue blasting him till he finally gives up and disappears for good.

We all realize that everyone is sick and tired of talking about VJ, but the simple fact is that if South DeKalb becomes a city, those idiots down there,(who would vote for a McDonald's hamburger) would also vote for VJ if he ran for the Mayor's job of that new city.

It is very scary that this man needs a job (whether it be mayor or dog catcher) he has to be in the politico circle) so he can dictate to his constituents about the race war in this county.

Actually, VJ is no friend of anyone except his own agenda and his pocketbook, and that it putting it very simply

9:26.....There will never be a City of South DeKalb. A group led by Jason Lary made a serious effort last year to look at incorporation. Problem is, it is not viable financially, the property values are too low to support it in any meaningful way. Also, there is no Representative of Senator from south DeKalb who would even seriously think about sponsoring a bill to do it.

Vernon Jones is old news...

1) What about the promised take homes that haven't materialized?

or that when they do hand out a few cars they will probably be handed out piecemeal primarily to officers who either didn't test well enough to get promoted or who chose not to take on the additional responsibilities and headaches or deal with having to come early and leave late.

2) the BS 3% pay raise ($15-$20 per pay period)....that keeps getting pushed out.. July... then middle of August.

3) the number of open unfilled sergeant slots that grew by one this week when someone was demoted.

Vernon is old news... quit chasing a rabbit and let's focus on the issues of today.
