Cedric to Bring Peace to Ferguson

Good Lord, now Cedric wants to be the next Christ, Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Just what does Cedric know about Ferguson Missouri?

And maybe somebody should do an open records request to make sure Cedric is using leave time, and not being paid by the few taxpayers that are left in DeKalb.

A man with the inability to bring people together within his own community and effect real change within things under his own direct authority is going to St. Louis to help them change things hundreds of miles away?

In a place where he has zero authority and the only real stake in the game is to have his face on TV and boost his standing in NOBLE? (which really isn't such a "noble" organization after all based on how they left Derwin Brown's wife in the dust and didn't do anything for his family after his death).

Sounds like something out of the George Chidi Pine Lake playbook to me.

Brilliant!

St Louis Co PD, I feel for you guys. You guys didnt start this but you're about to get the blame. The media and politicians will focus on you guys as the problem because it's the easiest story that the lowest of the educated will understand. No mention will be made that the county police only stepped in to keep Ferguson from burning to the ground. No mention that the tactics were in response to the rioters and the professional anarchist who flooded into the area. No mention will be made that a little police department with a total budget of 5 milliion dollars and that only spends 11 thousand a year on training initiated this sequence of events. Minimal spending on police training sounds like all the cities in DeKalb except Atlanta. If we added up all the money the cities spend on police training it still wouldn't equal half the amount DKPD spends on training. But our politicians don't care and they continue to reward the small cities. The big winner in this event will be the very city police that started this. They will get boat loads of money for training, equipment and personel. Again sounds like how the politicians treat DKPD.
As for Dr. A...An interesting and sincere gesture but he'll be a small fish in a big pond as I understand a bunch of Washington DC folk are flocking to the cameras in Ferguson.

Obama could do us all a favor and appoint Alexander to be chief in Ferguson. Go save the day somewhere else. And take your Training Day poster with you!

Is it a one way ticket or is this dumb S.O.B coming back?
Sharpton, Jesse Jackson & Cedric, I think the three stooges can handle it!!!!

OMG, can you people please find something better to do with your time besides bitch and moan about everything? I don’t see any of you doing anything extra inside or outside the department besides crying on the blog. How much change do you think is going to happen by writing little nasty comments on a blog? You are no better than the people who watch a police video and then criticize what we do on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. If you hate the Public Safety Director, Chief or department that bad then leave. The problem is no other department would want to hire you with such a negative attitude. I understand this department is not the best, but clearly it’s not the worst. It’s all about what you make it. You have to understand each officer represents the department, so every time you speak negatively about the department, you are speaking negative about yourself. If the department could get rid of all these negative attitudes it would be a much better place to work.

Anonymous said...

Ok seriously??!! What has this department come to? I am seriously starting to be embarrassed to say that I work for DKPD. Ridiculous, there are so many other things that he needs to be doing with his time.

Hey anon 11:21 you sound like cedrick did when he first got here, in fact you said it word for word so you are probably GOD Alexander. Either way it dosent matter the fact is Alexander is an idiot and a bully. He is so power hungry he does not give two shits about this county or our department he wants bigger and a more public position. See that's the problem our department has been used by our chiefs and board of commissioners for years to just line their own pockets with money and to gain power. For those of us who have suffered through the years of all the abuse are sick of being treated like shit. We have not had a raise in 8 years and our insurance and pension keeps going up each year. We have to work all the extra jobs we can to just provide for our families and not get to spend the time we want with them. We come in and get told to give more than we already have but we get nothing in return, yes I am bitching and yes I'm tired of fake people like yourself and Alexander taking advantage of my brothers and sisters in blue. I have given this fucking county 26 years of my life and if I die in the line of duty tomorrow they will not care about me or my family. God is so worried about getting his fake phony bullshit talking ass on tv he wants to go save a town 600 miles away, while the county that pays him is sinking faster than the titanic. Strap on on a gun belt and put on a Dekalb badge and stand by my side without stabbing me in the back if you can. If not go to hell and leave the department I'm tired of fake asses and for those who have become part of the machine known as the god doctors agenda mainly our command staff well please feel free to go to hell as well. The god doctor can't put on a gun belt or badge because he is not a sworn officer in this state or any state he is just a police wanna be.

Eventually the last few people who still worship Cedric the Almighty Lord will have to acknowledge that he is nothing more than a scam artist. What does this idiot know about anything that has happened in Ferguson? Cedric is not even a police officer and he does not even understand the most basic principles of law enforcement. How could he possibly give advise to another police department when his police department is so screwed up?
DeKalb County is paying this moron $170,000 a year to fly around the country, give interviews on a topic he is not qualified to discuss and meanwhile our murder rate and agg assault rate is through the roof. Good job Lee May.

Can someone change the locks while this nimrod is in Ferguson? Also, is there any reason to think he will ever go away as long as there is a CEO? And yesterday, the decision was announced that the CEO position is not going anywhere. Is there any hope for DeKalb?

Anonymous said...

Another letter of resignation received today. DKPD's motto SHOULD be "We train um, but can't retain um".

Well I be damn, never thought I would see the day that all Dekalb County problems were solved. I see Mr. NOBLE believes his job is done here. He's moving on up to Ferguson REALLY. News flash your not all that.

So how does the good doctor's going to Ferguson benefit the county, the county for which he works....glad to hear it will be on a weekend instead of during normal business hours.

Will he be charging this to his P card?

Dr. Alexander when you finish with your good work in Ferguson can you please handle that little problem in Iraq. After that maybe Israel and Gaza then on to curing Ebola, man wit this guy we should be worry free in no time at all. Oh, whats that he couldn't even handle post certification you say? Wow, maybe I underestimated the abilities of this self proclaimed great leader!

No we watched this place turn from the best police dept east of the Mississippi river to the screwed up place it is now in the short span of about 20 years because of the voters decided they would rather have crooks running the show. The folks who paid the taxes left because the crime soared because of stupid things the elected crooks did to make DeKalb a perfect place for even more crooks. What you have left is ALL county services hanging on by a thread, held together with duct tape and string: Police vehicles literally falling apart, driven by officers who are grossly under paid and over worked...some who haven't seen a raise in well over a decade. (Check the FBI report if you don't believe me) Now you tell me, if you were having to do the job that THEY do, being treated like THEY are being treated, Literally putting their life on the line every single day for citizens of this county who despise them, would you just sit back and take it, or would you try and expose the insanity that destroyed DeKalb?
WE know how good this place used to be and we know what ruined it and NO, we are NOT going to just forget it an not do or say anything. When a self serving IDIOT is elected or appointed to great power here, and makes it even worse, WE are here to shine the light on them!

Gresham Resident to DeKalb Police Dept : Why are you so slow to respond to calls in Gresham Park; if you respond at all ?

Gresham Resident to Anon 10:05 : Perhaps the DeKalb Police Dept started the "Great Decline" when you started taking the "free meals" from bars at Moreland Ave and Cedar Groove Roads. So what did you think, nobody saw your sorry selves sitting 10 feet away from "Illegal Video Poker Machines" ?

So is this what is now in charge of The DeKalb Police dept = Officers that have done nothing less than take bribes to overlook the illegal gambling, drugs and prostitution that is now prevalent from Ellenwood to Lithonia ? As I have said before, hope that you enjoy spit, cause they spit in almost every meal you ate !!!

Business Owners in Gresham Park have told me in the past that they were safer in Haiti under the Rule of Papa Doc than in DeKalb !!!

Perhaps some "Ethics Complaints" on DeKalb Police Command Staff for "Abuse of Power" will bring greater attention to this "sold out" Police dept ???

Alot of folks might not be Thomas Brown fans for various reasons, as Director of Public Safety, Dekalb Fire Chief and as the elected Sheriff I do not recall corruption and this man in the same sentence.
C.E.O of Dekalb County next on the agenda? we do not know yet but I do believe the B.S in Decatur would come to a screaching halt under his watch and might get this cesspool of what is left of Dekalb back on track, especially for public safety employees.

I simply cannot listen to one more black person make excuses such as - the police dept isn't diverse enough, these kids can't find employment, they grew up without fathers, etc. etc. Someone stated “What do you expect them (the looters) to do?”
In other words, mass violent temper tantrums are to be not only expected, but coddled. Check.

To anon 4:24 Your right when you say the cops in Ferguson have it bad, but I think cops all across this country will have it bad for some time.

I saw a state rep. from MO. on TV bitching about the fact that she was hit with a tear gas canister and she was upset that the police fired the canister directly at her. The news reporter then asks her,"How were the police to know you were in the crowd?" The rep. didn't have an answer. If I had been the reporter I would have gone into more questions, like "You were hit by the canister, where did it hit you? I don't see any bruising or burn marks on you? There were 2 crowds that night, a peaceful one and a violent one. The police only fired tear gas canisters into the violent one, what were you doing there? Did you make any attempt to calm the crowd down? Why didn't you leave the violent crowd? If you did nothing, then you were part of the problem." She went on to say that since the officer didn't stop Brown for the crime he had just committed, which was a violent felony with an assault, then the Brown had no reason to escalate the situation and the officer just shot him down. She could be right, I wasn't there. But, isn't it possible that Brown thought the officer was stopping him for the violent felony he had just committed and resisted the officer by becoming more aggressive with the officer. That seems just as possible too. The media keeps pushing the fact that his friend that was with him, said Brown ran away with his hands up shouting "Don't shoot". That's possible, sure is. But, is this the same friend that was with him inside the store when Brown committed the strong arm robbery and assault? I might have problems with this friend's credibility. The media wants to keep this stirred up like a hornets nest, it sells ratings, advertising and newspapers.

Now, everyone is getting on the knee jerk reaction. The ACLU is coming out with a report on the militarization of police forces across America. Hank Johnson wants to introduce a bill to curb this militarization and the use of assault weapons and other gear. News pundits are arguing that the police are just like occupying troops. They are also arguing that departments aren't diversified. OK, if that's the way you feel, fine by me. But, until you have all the facts on the big picture, in my opinion, you are hardly in a position to criticize. This is where departments all across the country will catch criticism. News reporters will be filing open requests on Monday to find out just what type of equipment their local police departments have and they will be acting as though they are experts on police work. The criticism will continue to all aspects of police work. Because, you and I both know that everyone else but the police, are experts on police work.

Think I'm wrong on this? We have a police helicopter, the government reads your emails, listens to you cell and land line phone calls and cities are installing video cameras on streets all across America. No one says a thing. But, a department buys one remote controlled airplane or helicopter and suddenly they are using drones to spy on us all. Really?? You can't make this shit up!

All I can say is be prepared. Such an incident in Ferguson could happen anywhere, any day, in any town/city in America. In my opinion the media will be there, trying to stir up another hornets nest.

Mr. NOBLE, while you were saving the day in Ferguson another couple of letters of resignations were submitted. They are sitting on your desk for review, when you decide to come back and handle COUNTY business. Which by the way you receive a salary for, pretty hefty one too I might add. Just saying!

You're right about the militarization of police. Just look at Ferguson. All the politicians and media come out and accuse Ferguson PD of using heavy handed tactics and gear. Because they used tear gas, pepper balls, flash bang grenades and an armored vehicle. The MO. State police were called in because Ferguson was being to harsh and was trying to stop the violence and looting. What happened next is the MO. State police ended up using tear gas, flash bang grenades and an armored vehicle, to control the crowds, but they did nothing to stop the looting. Guess what happened next, the MO. State Police lost control of the situation and now the governor calls in the National Guard. This is good news for those that are pushing the militarization of the police! No one wants to see the big picture, I agree with you on that.

While we are at it, Recruiting needs to send faxes to all of the ACLU offices across the country. We could run an abbreviated Academy for just the ACLU folks so that they could be put on the road sooner rather than later and show us how to police without any equipment. We could give them all the hot calls and we should encourage them to carry a gun, but if they don't want to, then that's on them. They could put their money where their mouth is. Since they consider themselves an authority on policing, then quit publishing studies, pin on a badge and come out and show us how to do our job.

One last thing, if you look at the stats from across the country, they clearly show that 2 to 3 times more officers are killed by suspects, than officers kill suspects, each year. The media won't tell you that!

I am wondering why the Ferguson officer hasn't offered his side of the altercation yet?

Major Hunt is suspending part time jobs for absolutely no reason. Officers that worked at The Peach were complained on, they were exonerated by the Internal Affairs detective, yet the part time job was suspended anyway?

Why are these jobs being suspended, punishing the officers after they were found to be doing nothing wrong?

No one seems to know why we can't retain good officers. When you fuck with a person's money, they will pursue employment elsewhere.

Hey I have an idea. Since Police are just going around shooting innocent unarmed choir boys for no better reason than the joy of all the paperwork, legal battles, civil suits and moving your family out of town for your safety.
Why the hell don't they just pull ALL the police out of Ferguson, and let the you know who's have it. Used the you know who cause I don't wanna be called a racist. But everyone knows who I'm speaking of just too damn afraid to say it. Not politically correct you know. Then just send in the fire dept. to put out the flames. Because you know damn good and well that the city, that the you know who's live in would be burnt to the ground...Then who the HELL they gonna blame. Oh yea the damn Fire Dept. those racist bastards..

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Alexander, the president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, is recommending that the Ferguson Police Department become more diverse when N.O.B.L.E. clearly is not? Maybe N.O.B.L.E. should consider diversity as well. P.S. - Cedric, Are you aware that your officers have not had a pay raise in eight years? Maybe you should focus on that along with employee retention issues.

The Ferguson officer has given his side ... to IA and the investigators... comments in public should only be made in court until such time as it is ruled a good shoot and he is not potentially going to be indicted and/or be sued.

Mr. Lee May, as you can see there's a serious issue within the DeKalb County Police Department concerning Chief Cedric Alexander. As a proud member of DeKalb County Police Department I am sad to witness the morale and operations of the Police Department progressively deteriorating since his employment. He has obviously been concentrating his efforts on becoming successful in media community while DeKalb County Police continues to sink in all areas. I respectfully ask that you look into the intimidating environment that Cedric Alexander intentionally imposes and confidently maintains within the Police Department.

My I suggest that you begin your inquiry by confindentially speaking with individuals that have experienced first hand his unprofessional and vulgar behavior. May I also suggest that you speak with individuals that are no longer with the department but was under his administration, thank you in advance.

WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!

Not a peep lately about new cars for uniform officers....CID gets the "old command staff" cars while the command staff takes cars the meant for the line.

The shuffle happens and we're still driving crappy, high mileage patrol cars....and even worse ... waiting for the watch in duty to bring them in.

Will Cedric also bring us the things promised?

The Ferguson officer then had nothing good to say or his explanation would have been released to calm some of the feelings that he just gunned down an undeserving law biding teenager. 20 years of law enforcement under my belt and knowledge of police shootings, this case smells because nothing good on the LEO's behalf has been released. Thus the Nationwide unrest.

Well...well..."Doctor Dumb Ass Director Alexander" or "Chief Deputy Dumb Ass Alexander" or whatever you are calling yourself these days, I see you are steady chipping away at trying to become an analysis in the media (which was your intention all along). During your CNN interview, you really said a mouth full of nothing more than, what the viewers already knew. You're a self centered "Son of Bitch" who has no knowledge of the law enforcement community. You try to give the public the impression that you really know what you are talking about however, the more you blow smoke, the more people realize you know nothing at all. You think just because you're the National President of NOBLE you know enough to comment on the Ferguson situation. You are wrong...you did not give any additional information or facts to enlighten the situation. During the CNN conversation you stated, "He is the President of the United States", really? How many people you think didn't know that President Obama is the President of the United States? You are out of your league. You should be focusing on trying to keep DeKalb County Police Department operating effectively, and reducing crime. You played Lee May like a cheap whore from Metropolitan Avenue in keeps of you remaining employed in a non P.O.S.T position at DeKalb. You had no intentions of being a Police Chief for DeKalb Police Department from the beginning of your employment simply because you knew, and we knew, you could not pass the mandated P.O.S.T. requirements. This is why you never made any attempts to become P.O.S.T. certified. So why, don't you do the citizens of DeKalb County and the men and women of DeKalb Police Department a favor and ride out on the jackass that you rode in on, because you have NO interest in DeKalb County Police Department. You and your intimidating style of management are not wanted here!

I'm not claiming to be psychic but this is what I think happened in Ferguson. After roughing up the store clerk, he was confronted by the officer.
The officer allegedly didn't know about the incident. Regardless, the victim thought he was going down and charged for the officer and/or his gun. In fear (yes LEO's have fear), the officer got control of his weapon and fired, striking the huge victim in the arms. The big guy kept advancing and thus resulted in the head shots that finally brought him down. If this is the case I don't see a murder charge. Depends on what is presented to the grand jury. Whatever the grand jury decides, I'm willing to bet the majority of the protestors won't be satisfied.

Anonymous said...

Word is getting out that the Ferguson officer was still in his carvwhen the victim rushed the window and began punching the officer breaking his eye-socket. If this is TRUE, they need to make this public. Maybe the riots wouldn,t have escalated. If I was being beat about the face I may have shot the perp myslf. Just sayin'.

He has the media fooled here in Atlanta. They think that he is candid and transparent with them about the goings on in DeKalb County. They soon will realize that he does nothing more than clamor for his minute of fame on the big screen. We have a history of putting fools on tv as the face and voice of our department. This is one prime example. Why not use line officers like the surrounding departments use, or are you afraid that they might say the truth?

The disrespectful comments on here are truly disheartening. The name calling is so immature. For the ones that have called the Director out of his name sound extremely immature. How exactly can you all protect and serve with such negativity? There is so much hatred in your opinions. There lays the problem in your effectiveness to properly police. Because of the biases and racial undertones displayed in this county and Ferguson you have aggressive officers that make poor decisions based on a superior attitude. Instead of bashing the Director, the negative minded folks need to figure out how he has been able to have such a lucrative career in YOUR career field and jump on board. Then y'all wouldn't have to work y'all asses off like slaves with all these part time jobs just to make ends meet.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous @ 6:03 am
Most of us don't count on part time jobs to make ends meet. We work them for extra money so we can do extracurricular things like take our family on a nice vacation, pay for furthering our education, or pursue a hobby.

Make no mistake, Director Alexander has not had a "lucrative career" in our field. He is not a law enforcement officer. He was hired by a corrupt polititian who is awaiting trial, that doesn't exactly make him look good in a Police Officers eyes to start with. He refused to become certified when he was Chief, then he negotiated his way to an appointed position that doesn't require certification. After the director position was abolished by the boc. Nothing strange going on there right?

If you think we are slaves to part time jobs, what does that make Cedric Alexander? He specifically requested to know from the ethics board if he could be paid for speaking engagements. He makes well over 3x what the average cop does in his salary alone. You know what it makes him? Another greedy polititian. Do I need to explain what happens when people get greedy?

Thanks for reinstating the Atlanta Peach part time Job Major Hunt. Now, what about El Noa Noa and Lulu Billiards and others? You suspended those for no reason as well. Only what? 30 officers lost jobs for no reason on that order when it was issued. There were no investigations done on any officers that worked these places, other than the officer who committed crimes in Gwinnet County. And yet 30+ officers are punished for something 1 officer did OUTSIDE of the county.
