Guilty Until Proven Innocent

So the D.A. altered the video. Just damn.

What really got me was the DA's statement "Ultimately, the jury found Mr. Kendrick not guilty of violating his oath as an officer. Though we respectfully disagree with their resolution, we thank them for their service as jurors.”...

What kind of garbage is that? So a jury of his peers find him not guilty, and you basically spit in their faces? It's your job to present that states evidence against an alleged crime, and the jurors duty to determine guilt. Of course, by the very design of the system, the DA's office is going to be against a not guilty verdict. But that's the reason the system is in place, you can't just arbitrarily send him off to prison. This self serving, arrogant attitude is another reason why DeKalb is going down the drain. Start prosecuting the real criminals, and not the men and women in uniform who protect our county Mr. DA.

The charges against Kendrick were bullshit. Nowhere does the video show him throw anything. Plus this perp has drug possession charges in his past, and it came out at trial that he falsely accused another officer of the same thing several years ago. Who the are the idiots who thought this was a good case? This smells like malicious prosecution to me.

I don't know this kid, but it sounds here like he got a raw deal. If so, I hope he gets his life back, along with his credibility!!! Maybe, if DA James had spent more time on his prosecution of Burrell Ellis and less time trying a cop accused of wrongdoing by a perp with a history of false accusations, he would have been able to bring Ellis to justice! I wonder what the IA investigation found...?

IA investigation showed he did nothing wrong, even though he was interviewed by IA several times. Kendrick's story was always the same because he didn't do it. The perp wouldn't even come in to give IA a statement for God's sake. They had to track him down after it was on the news the first time when the turd's attorney was trying to get the charges dropped. He was only fired after he was indicted. Kendrick wasn't my favorite guy to work with but he got a raw deal on this.
