so Atlanta officers get a 30% raise, Brookhaven officers get a 21% raise, Georgia state Patrol get a 20% raise, Gwinnett county officers get an 18% raise and good old Dekalb officers get a 4% raise with a price increase on their benefits. DeKalb County is so crooked and dirty.
marta drivers went on strike why don't Dekalb police do the same.
Retirees haven’t had a cost of living raise since 2005.
If you have been retired since 2005you were probably topped out at your pay, these poor guys who are working have not received a raise in years and are nowhere close to being topped out. we have 18 plus year officers who are not making sixty thousand. But the commissioners are making more than that as a part-time job.
when are they supposed to implement the second part of the raise, for the officers who did not get brought up to the pay rate they should be at. we have so much pay decompression its crazy. the new officers received a raise and the command staff received a raise but the veteran officers did not get anything.
I would think/hope that you would want your retirees to receive COLA since they are on fixed income with rising healthcare costs at that point and PARTICULARLY if you expect to be one.
I’m surprised that place hasn’t been sued out of existence with the decades of neglect, open sewers running through neighborhoods, repeated water billing issues, corruption so bad you can’t keep track, on and on and on. It is a routine joke focal point of talk radio it is so ridiculous.
The CEO island the BOC are only worried about taking care of themselves and close friend. None of them care about first responders in this county and none of them will ever give a substantial raise to first responders. They called 4% raise a significant raise. So what do they call a 60% raise for themselves. The citizens of this county must come together and vote every commissioner out.
That place only views you as a human commodity, no different than the garbage man (actually less than that). Despite your extensive training, service, inherent risk, etc., etc., you'll only be a necessary evil to that corrupt, self-serving, disgusting place. RUN, run fast and far away.
The BOC clearly has no interest in taking law enforcement seriously and/or protecting its citizens that elected them. I'm amazed they can get anyone to work there, mush less live there.
