         Dekalb Police Captain under Investigation
A Dekalb police captain is under investigation for putting on his uniform and driving his county-issued vehicle and driving out of the county to downtown Atlanta and using his uniform and badge to get close to the hotel where the New England Patriots were staying. The captain was confronted by security and escorted out of a restricted area. Dekalb police were notified and an investigation is underway

Nothing will happen to him, he should have been fired for the overtime incident when he was driving for Vernon Jones, Capt. Curtis Williams’s can do whatever he wants and nothing ever happens to him.

WOW! Has no one there heard of negligent retention? How embarrassing for you.

So, Curtis Williams in Atlanta, in uniform, no gun belt, trying to get in players tunnel, with some girl who may not have been his wife? Asking for a friend.

Be careful, the Director won’t demote and might make him an Asst. Chief look at Asst Chief Porter and history with the department. That’s how Dekalb rolls these days.

Yep. Dekalb is well known for doubling down on stupid. Just ask Guam residents hoping it doesn't tip over any time soon 🙄

The Director has no clue as to what is going on in this department, he is lied to by the Chief and all the assistant chiefs, they are all so scared of losing their rank and position. Not one of them care or knows what is going on within the department, the troops are overworked, underpaid and under appreciated. They do not care because they all recurved a large raise last year and the OC just received a large raise in January. The veterans who were left out of the pay decompression raise have not been taken care of for the last 10 years. The retirees have not revived a cost of living raise in 12 years. The way this county treats veteran officers and retired officers is absolutely disgusting. This is why no one wants to work for DeKalb county. I hope if anyone is thinking of applying they will read this and go to another department, go somewhere that will appreciate your loyalty and hard work because that will get you nothing in DeKalb.

I am looking to leave DeKalb county. After 67 years here I can see this place is not where I need to be. I feel bad for the ones who are still here.

Between majors having affairs and captains on the take , and a blind eye being turned to all the corruption going on in Dekalb, why has not the GBI stepped in to investigate.

Why are so many of your officers driving around in 8 and 10 year old police vehicles. This county has enough money to spend on frivolous things why can’t we buy our officers bettering safer vehicles.

The SHERIFF murdered the sheriff elect in that shithole. Enough said.

Truly embarrassing to the DKPD. Did this dude not realize the level of security surrounding a Super Bowl? How did he think it was OK to put on his uniform and go into a secure area that he was not assigned, and take pictures of players? He should call his good friend Cedric for advice!

Curtis should be demoted, but nothing will happen to him. Porter is an idiot and doesn't deserve to be an Assistant Chief, but at least she earned the rank of Captain. Caitlin was a Lt when he was made a Major over 15 current Captains. He took the Captain's test as a Major and finished almost dead last out of 35 people. Did that get him demoted? No, he got promoted to Assistant Chief. How does that happen? There's 50 people more qualified than him to be Captain, but he gets promoted to Assistant Chief? Nothing will happen to Curtis.

C.A. Williams? Whats his badge #?

Promotional testing there has been manipulated for years via throwing out questions, etc, necessary to propel idiot yes men & women to desired ranks. Any attorney worth his/her salt could make a fortune in class action suits with a little effort and fortitude.

The last captains test was extended a month just set so two hand picked candidates could qualify to take the test. No matter the administration we always have special treatment for the favorites. This place is rotting from the inside out.

This cunty is very corrupt, they d not care abut the police department. They do not care about the veteran officers at all, in fact they do not care about police at all the only reasons n they gave a raise last year and accepted the new pay structure was because Major Gassner told them to vote to accept the new p,an nd bring the new officers up to the same same as the veterans and that would keep them from leaving. He told them don’t worry about the veterans because they will not leave because they are too old and want to keep their retirement. So the commissioners agreed to accept the pay scale gave the new officers raises and then refused to implement the second phase of the pay raise which would bring the veterans up to what they should be making. We are lied to cheated and abused on a daily bass. I wish we could come together and stand united and stop writing tickets and bring this fucking county to its knees. If Marts bus drivers can make a stand why can’t we. This s your future and your family’s future we are talking about. You must fight now for your retirement and life after policing.

Nothing is going to happen to Capt. Williams he is protected and always has been. He should have been fired a long time ago.

Well looks like he being punished by moving him from one position to one with less supervision. He is the favorite person of that Asst. Chief in charge. If it was a lesser rank he would have been fired. How do you lie to get into the Super Bowl and get away with it?

I am sssooo disappointed with DeKalb county. I have lived here for less than 8 years and the corruption reminds me of New Orleans. This 'recycling' of street criminals, elected criminals and sworn criminals.

Okay a few things...red or blue pill? Remember though once you know the truth, you can never go back! When you say that two Majors are having affairs, do you mean just two majors or maybe it’s all the Majors (for all of time). Perhaps it’s also none (well last face it, it’s definitely not none, the whole county is fucking each other and they have been for like ever. Could actually be an undercover swinging club, but who really knows right?) Certain professions the suicide, substance abuse, addiction and infidelity rates double, LEO’s, Military, Lawyers, Politicians are just a few professions on that list along with Doctors and other clinicians. It’s quite daunting to think about really these are the people who Serve and Protect us and their jobs take such a toll on their health and their personal lives that many end up ending their own lives, destroying themselves...it all depends on whether or not one carries Hope that things can change. Those who lose Hope blow their brains out. Those that are able to keep even a glimmer of Hope in sight, even in their darkest hour are the ones who have the power to change things...sometimes it takes a little help from our friends. Which is why the bond that is held within certain groups of people like police officers, fire fighters, lawyers, doctors is so important. What is even more important is that they work together to first and foremost protect and serve, never forget who you work for and that upholding the constitution is more important than the O.C.G.A and whatever be codes cities and counties come up with. Whether or not a person is committing adultery shouldn’t really be anyone’s concern, it sounds like a personal problem to me. Perhaps someone from HR or the Chief’s office should reach out and see what they could do to maybe support their people vs. break them down even more when obviously they are fighting their own demons. The philosophical question one must ponder though is this...adultery is still a crime in the state of Georgia. A misdemeanor that is NOT ever prosecuted, but our politicians just leave it on the books, why? It makes A LOT of people into Hippocrates because just like every one breaks the law when they speed, everyone who has sex while married to another person is breaking the law, just like when you see DKPD rolling around in a unit with one headlight... that’s breaking the law. So you are employed by people who don’t give you the right tools, equipment, people, training, care...I mean out right super villain criminals at worst and oblivious morons at best but at the end of the day if everyone doesn’t start standing for what is right than one day you may see yourselves behind bars because DeKalb County didn’t provide you with the proper skills, knowledge, or tools to do a job where everything you touch essentially someone’s entire life is on the line. You hold in your hands a power to save lives or to destroy them and that’s some scary shit if you sit and think about that for sometime. When it sinks in and it may not today, next week, next year and maybe never but when it does you will have to decide who you are and all of a sudden what you do or how you do it will change, my hope is that all of you find the courage to stand up together for yourselves, for your families, for those who you have stood beside that are no longer with us or holding on to that last stitch of rope because I promise you life is so much more than just ego, than I, then just me and mine’s.
