This officer was one of Vernon Jones's flunkies, he was caught falsifying time sheets and being out of the county at bars in Atlanta with Vernon. He was protected all of his careers and he has zero common sense or leadership skills. He is a disgrace to this county and our department. It looks like Director Lumpkin will take care of just like Vernon did. I have no respect for the director, he is just like all the other Directors a waste of money, he is only here to collect a check.
Sgt. Tim Medlin ( running Animal Control) just failed to closely supervise employees time sheets and he was able to resigned in lieu of termination. I understand he was low level and he was held accountable for his actions. Then look at Captain Williams and all his violations and embarrassment to the department. I wonder how many people he lied too getting into the secure area’s to get up and close to famous football players. What going to happpen to next officer who makes these kind of mistakes, will they just get transferred?
This guy sounds like a rogue officer, how has he been promoted through the ranks with all the questionable things he has done and been a part of. If this is the type of leadership in the police department I can see why the department is in such turmoil.
I bet with this episode with the department he with surely get promoted, look at disciplinary events and promotions on some of the people.
That haircut alone should warrant a weeks suspension. Just my opinion of course. But seriously I won't pretend to know every fact involving this incident but it sure seems he got away with one. Not one single suspension day. I wonder what would have happened to a MPO under similar circumstances??? The poster above is correct. Williams was one of Vernon Jones boys for a long time and that fact speaks volumes in my view.
He will be protected, the Assistant Chief he is working for now likes him, in more ways than one. She will keep him safe. I hear she has Lumpkin ear and he listens to her. Lumpkin anfbthurmond will just drive this department further into the ground. I don’t know if I can stay 10 more years.
We promoted a sexual predator and a militant who had several EEOC complaints filed on him. We have an assistant chief who was never a Capt, or a major. Chief Conroy should be real proud of his career and promotions. He never really did anything in his career after being shot in the academy he was on the fast track to anything he wanted in the department.
You can be the biggest screw up in this department and get promoted. They promoted the coward of the county to Lt. This guy would only stop female drivers and let a DUI driver tell him he was not going to arrest him and walk to his car and drove off. Gwinnett County had to stop the guy and arrest him. So we promote him and make him part f our leadership for the department.
As a member of Rehoboth Church I was told to take a look at this website the other night, I am amazed at how you officers talk about each other. The amount of venom and attacks on each other does not indicate DeKalb County Police as a police force of brothers and sisters. I pray that you all find peace within yourselves and can work toward being a team to help clean up our neighborhoods. We speak regularly with elected officials and know that CEO Thurmond is working hard to increase officer pay because we know you deserve it, after reading some of the hateful comments I am doubtful this will continue. Try to be the change you wish to see, we at Rehoboth love and need you.
This is now getting national press attention so all the seedy things DKPD wants kept secret are about to be highlighted for all to finally see.
Thank you for your prayers and yes it is unfortunate that some comments on this site seem to be hateful or backstabbing. I don’t think that is what the officers are trying to do. I hope I speak for the silent majority, see after giving 18 plus years to a department and giving furlough days and going with no raises in several years it gets frustrating. Then we are lied to and cheated out of the pay we were promised we would be making. So this affects our family’s, so as a provider we then go and work side jobs just to provide for our families. We see our command staff recieving pay parody raises and the commissioners getting a 60% raise. But the officers who put their lives on the line do not receive anything. We see command staff breaking rules,laws and regulations and nothing happens to them. But let an officer just slip up a little and they are punished to the fullest degree. If you constantly kick a dog one die it will bite you.

It doesn't help when you know ahead of time complete idiots will be #1 or #2 on the rigged and highly manipulated promotional "testing".
The only thing I can possible add to this conversation and after considerable thought....
and this is directed at the Chief, Mr. Director, & Mr. CEO, with all due respect, and remember I'm sayin' with all due respect, that idea ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on.....

This guy has believed his sh#t doesn't stink since the Vernon Jones era. You can't find one person who worked with him or for him that has anything positive to say about him.

What about running undercover ops out of jurisdiction. It isn't being run by a black guy. I will bet that much. Back off him. Maybe he should come to APD and he can go to the next football game on duty and wave to y'all from the kiss cam and show his ass so you can know what to do about it. 😂😂😂

If you go back and read other post on the blog also Deal with an incompetent chief ...oh he happens to be white and they talk about an assistant chief over special operations who is an egomaniac and is a useless leader because lol he wants is to. Be chief. The blog is a voice for the officers to express the injustice that goes on in the department. The captain in question at this time has always been in some type of controversy either while being a driver for the CEO or falsifying time sheets or partying in Atlanta on weekends while being paid for a security detail the list goes on...the captain violated county policy and breached security if it had been anyone else they would have been demoted or suspended,
- Did he rape civilians with his service weapon (on or off duty)
- Did he beat a homeless man until he broke his arm doing so in South Prescient and try to charge the man with assaulting an officer?
Has he ever used excessive force on a unarmed minority group who was compmyi g with orders?
No?
Well go find the guys who did the things above and worry about them. I want that kiss cam thing to happen tho.
